If you have a rough running engine, your first thought is probably to replace the spark plugs, ignition coils, or both. But what if the engine continues running rough after that? In this video, Andy points out the other half of the rough running problem: fuel delivery. An engine won't run well if it's not getting enough gas! Andy shows you how to check fuel injectors for problems, and gives you tips on how to replace damaged or chewed wires and connectors for the fuel injectors. If you have given your car or truck's engine a tune up, but it still runs rough, this might be the fix for you!

This is where I'm at. Po302 on my 2006 Subaru sti. Did all the swaps, did compression and leakdown great numbers. Vacuum leak test smoke machine intake and exhaust. All good. Checked and tested the Hitachi side feed injector ohms and spray pattern good. Checked injector connection for proper pulsing, no issues. Tested and cleaned the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors all good . Out of ideas what next.

I remember that engine - the 2004 model had an issue with the intake manifold gasket. The gasket would lose its compression state at high mileage, and cause random unmetered air to get sucked into the engine, which would cause sputtering and misfires. There was a revision OEM gasket that was orange instead of black- that fixed the problem for me way back.

Thank you for this info..praying I don't have a busted head gasket..about rodents and our car wires, I've been told they're wrapped in coverings made from soy which rodents are heavily attracted to(would luv to know how to combat that if possible).
