i have a klien thermo cam it works great, i used it to look at roach infested home all gathered in the furnace room wall the exterminator that was with me was blown away how well it worked on roaches
Wow , man , fantastic tip with the magnets ! Learn Something new everyday in this field . Going to get some magnets and set up a 120 to 24 v transformer and use a spare reversing valve in the next meeting to show my guys this testing method . Thanks and subbed 👍🏼

I have a new unit heat pump.
Was working great .
Now heat will not work.
AC is great.
When I swith to heat blows cool.
Then when switching back to AC it blows cool about 65
At install Temps
Heat was 89-94
AC WAS 43-45
24v at all control wires.
Compressor is good ?
Tested compressor
C-S-R value equals 1.0 -1.7- 2.7 total of both sides.
So when I diagnosed why this is happen. After capacitor is good also.
After all the diagnostic pull disconnect.
In that time put every back together, AC WORKS PERFECTLY FINE.
2 techs tell me my new heat pump 3 weeks old , compressor is bad, because the gauges equalized.
I ask to checkout switching valve. ..I know with all the resurch on line bad sw valve will give you faulty reading like a compressor.
TXV for cooling.
The only thing I can think of is the installer didn't put the piston in condenser. 3/8 line.
But if so why would the heat pump work great 2.5 weeks then nothing.
That trick is awesome with the magnetics...
Has a home owner and Handyman mechanically skilled background. I have to due this because the techs that come will not look at the sw valve.
