- Nintendo just released Switch Firmware Ver. 18.0.1 (Released April 22, 2024), if you are using CFW, DON'T UPDATE NOW as Atmosphere and Hekate does not support it now.
Don't ask me where to get the sigpatches, game, update, DLC, firmware and keys. I'll delete your comment if I see such a comment

Improved system stability is console manufactorer speak for "patching exploits from hackers." Sony invented that patch note. If you remember back in the PS3 days, when the PS3 was hacked. That's all you'd see for several firmware updates. Just one line stating "Improved general system stability." They still do it. So, considering the switch is hacked, it's the same thing for Nintendo. Every firmware that requires the scene to mess with it to get it working again, probably has that patch note.

I accidentally updated yesterday from 17.0 to 18.0.1 followed a guide and tweeked a configuration and I was able to get cfw working again. Can confirm that my cfw is working with the current sigpatches👍

If you update ur firmware to a version do you also have to uodate ur prod key to that version?
Keys don't need to get updated but sigpatches do.
@GrownUpGamingGUG I have no idea what sigpatch is I may or may not eh using rjinx if u know what I mean to emulate my switch for more fps. So u don't have to update keys for firmware update on it tho?

i am stupid, i updated it and now i cannot launch any games and got a issue in Hbmenu " no application could be found on the SD card. Make sur a folder names /switch exists in the application root of the SD card it contains applications."

Are you using the latest atmosphere, hekate, sigpatches and payloads? I haven't tried updating to 18.0.1 yet but I'll do it on my emunand to test if it works later.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Finally, i resolved my issue by downloading lastest sigpatches !! still issues with some applications but at least i can install and launch all games =) thanks !

My switch in old firmware 13.2.0 it's ok if I jailbreak 18.0.0 or firstable update the system firmware from 13.2.0 to 18.0.0 then jailbreak to 18.0.0 ?
It doesn't matter. You can update firmware if you like or you can keep it at a low firmware.

Yes the latest atmosphere version supports older switch firmware.

I haven't jailbreak my Switch v1 yet, I ordered RCM Jig and waiting for it, but today I upgraded 18.0.0 to 18.0.1 by mistake while trying to load a game.
I see that Atmosphere works fine with 18.0.1 if you had Atmosphere in 18.0.0 but my quiestion is, is it possible to jailbreak from scratch if you have 18.0.1 now?
If you have a v1 unpatched switch, you will always be able to mod your switch, it's unpatchable.

@@Marmaralone yes, I can actually try updating my emunand cfw, worst case scenario I can always create a new emunand with my 18.0.0 firmware on sysnand. So I can test out if the old sigpatches work or not.
@@Marmaralone I think that the point GUG is trying to get across is (if you have updated to 18.0.1) to wait until all of the software hack tools are updated by the devs to officially support that firmware version. This will very likely happen soon enough. If you intend to hack your Switch right now, and are on a lower firmware, it is recommended that you do not update. Perform the hack on lower firmware to ensure that all the hacktools are officially supported. This will minimize the chance that something will go wrong. Have you read the warnings that "although unlikely, this may BRICK your console" ?
Can I manually set dns on a non modded to help not get bans while using mig ?
It's worth a shot but I think when you do weird stuff on the ofw it leaves something behind and when you connect to Nintendo servers eventually they might be able to track it so nothing is risk free.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG confirmed store blocked when tried so manual dns works - do you know what has to be wiped post modded game play to perma hide the info from Nintendo upon being back on Nintendo online

I am still new to switch modding, if I have a sysnand which I play online for smash and splatoon, and then I have an emunand with all my cfw, if I update to 18.0.1 on my sysnand side, will it break my emunand side with cfw? thank u
Yes you can update sysnand without updating emunand. I would suggest having a backup of your emunand because if anything happens to your emunand, and you create a new one with your sysnand, your cfw version will be based on the sysnand firmware.
In my experience it's better to update emuNAND first. But you can update either or without affecting the other. The reason being is updating the emuNAND is not as easy as just simply pressing UPDATE on the sysNAND.
@@Cyko.. but emunand doesn't really need to be updated unless a game you're trying to play requires a newer firmware but the sysnand needs to be updated in order to play online or connect to nintendo stores. so sysnand gets updated more frequently if you play online a lot whilst emunand only update when needed really. but everyone does it differently. thanks for sharing :)
@@GrownUpGamingGUG You're welcome but to be honest most people are using their modded Switches to play the latest greatest games, and the pirated versions come out really quick. I saw Princess Peach Showtime available for download before I even saw a physical copy here in town. 😂

It really is though. Not much is going on with the switch firmware, it bare minimum, no themes, no folders, so it doesn't crash like other operating systems.
