I drilled with Spencer and was his partner when he taught technique at a Wabash College wrestling camp about 5 years ago. I still vividly remember him grabbing my arm for the first time and thinking, "This dude has the grip strength of a 197 lber." I was the 141 pounder, weighing about 165 at the time lmao
Sounds about right. The HC of a school down in GA went to UTC and wrestled Spencer Lee in the first round of 2018 NCAAs. His words (about Lee): "he's strong as shit"

I wrestled long, long ago at Augustana College in Rock Island , Illinois . We had a very small wrestling room about 20x20 ft and a weight room like a large closet….that’s all ! Career cut short by being drafted and going to Vietnam . It’s so cool to see how far training methods have progressed ! Thanks so much for this video….Spencer is my favorite college wrestler and I’m sure he has a very bright future !

Love the video. Keep it up. Your channel is awesome. I wrestled for many years on a competitive level and now my son has decided to wreslte out of no where. Its intense knowing so much about the sport and now watching but hes enjoying the process. He doesnt have the greatest coaches so were training at home now and plan to get him into clinics and clubs but he just won the county tournament at 145lb in the 7th grade with no real experience. Time to teachteach teach and your channel is so helpful.

Definite difference in weight room strength and wrestling strength, remember when I was younger I was wrestling up in a high school tournament. Had to wrestle a guy who was ripped looked like a grown ass man. Definitely spent a lot of time in the weight room. I watched his matches and saw us meeting later in the bracket. I was super nervous, I won by tech win and won the tournament.

Very good job gentleman. I have three state champion youth boys and they watch both of you. You both are strong and great wrestlers thank you to both for moving the sport to another level. But Spencer you have the best fast pace coaches in the sport. Tell them the Muma boys are coming.

I haven’t been watching NCAA wrestling for that long (4 years) but during the time I have Spencer Lee pound for pound might be the best I have seen. He’s been dominant.
Kyle Dake is a prospect for that honor àt 4 different weight classes. Spencer is close though.Jesse DelGado was a beást who was a two time champ and would have had some problems for Spencer....
Lots of great guys (and gals!). Spencer is certainly one of them. Cael, Kyle Dake, Gable...Yanni is worth the price of admission any time, as well.
@@patrickorourke2369 Hilton High Yanni's school was in my school division many years ago and they were always tough but nothing like when Yanni and Greg were there. Have you seen the video of Yanni competing in his first US Open on CZcams.... It's brilliant. I love watching his freshman championship against Bryce from Wyoming. The cradle he applied in the closing seconds was incredible! Love these guys!
His ability to put guys on their backs is some of the best moves I have seen to collect points.
