Thank you so much! I am becoming engrossed in Mahabharata, and its teachings are INFINITELY superior to Judeo-Christian tradition I am coming from.

The Varna has nothing to do with birth ,it is based on your achievement as clarified by Karna.
Because to fight a kshtriya one had to be a kshtriya and when Karna was king to Angdesh he then faught Arjuna

Mahabharat is an all inclusive text of humans. Whatever happens in this world be it past, present or future... It's there in mahabharat.. Nothing happens in this world which is outside the purview of Bharatham... And I think that is the greatness of mahabharat. And to think it's 7000 yrs old...

On the question of killing of Bhishma, Dhrona et al., @30:00, that they were dharmic is clear to me.
Powerful but irrepressibly bad people like Vali in Ramayan and Dhuryodan were a blot on humanity. People like Bhishma, Dhrona and even Karna, who were deemed to be morally the most upright, did *knowingly* commit unpardonable adharmic acts, in breach of their swadharma.
It is only fair that the karmic consequences for such weighty, heinous, sins are made immediate in this lifetime itself, as their last experience, with much anguish and suffering. Thus the lord implements the law of Karma directly (as Rama himself) or indirectly through his agents (Bhim, Yudishtir, Arjun and Shikandi) at his instigation. Implementation of karma is always *fitting* and therefore dharmic.
Of course we will ask why the war, why the tsunami?

Mahabharath is world war were 180crore people died in 18 days. Happened around middle asia... This is war of dharma(practices of improving). Adharma(practices of downgrading)

You seem to be overwhelmed by the text…you need to take the overall perspective and history of India to understand the reality of Mahabharata…poor interpretation…
