I'm so excited to finally reveal this thing! I've been wanting to share it for so long and i couldn't be happier with the outcome! I just wanted to build something quietly on the side and finish it.
I've always wanted a Full size buster sword and in this video i'll explain how i made it! So hopefully you can too!

Technically, the Buster Sword belonged to Angeal, which he eventually gave to Zack, which was ultimately passed down to Cloud.
That aside, you did a great job printing the Buster Sword. Props.

What would make this just that tiny bit more epic- and it's already 100% rad!- is, oh and he's just mentioned it in the video as I type this, and that is regarding putting Materia into the slots. So I'm looking forward to seeing it when that part's complete too! 02:54 is where he mentions adding Materia in the future. Very pleased to know that I am!

I was drinking some water while watching this video and once I heard you say $35 water was everywhere, that is insane and as a collector I think 3D printing is somting I need to get into

During 2020 I made one too ... out of cardboard lol. Think it was about 150cm long. I ordered a new bed and had all this cardboard left over ... and we all got bored in this year lol.
I've concepted a much more 'realistic' version of this sword as a 30/70 hybrid of the realism/fantasy, and brought the sword length down to a more average 3.8feet (approximate Longsword length), as well as thinning the wideness of the blade, but not making it look like a generic sword still. The sword design is most similar to a Gladius or Viking era sword, as it has no crossguard, however it's a single bladed weapon so the mass of the unsharpened edge is there to help it cut, hence the tapered tip, similar to curved blades which have superior slicing power compared to straight pointed swords more designed for stabbing.

Probably too late to ask this, could you let us know where to get the rod and how to slice it with those settings in place?
Not a lot of good info on that. I personally made a Master Sword, smaller than this, and had problems with the hilt not getting the support it needed.
materia will make it look awesome i think you should put led's in it make them with resin and put some swirls in them

Any recommendations for smaller projects to build up the necessary skills to complete it? You mention welding and melting a lot to connect but the sword looks like one whole piece. That has to take practice
Honestly man just find things on Thingiverse.com you want to make. Start small. Work up!

Hey man I'm making this for a cosplay how did you make the rod unscrew. What I mean by that is how did you get the rod to be secured with the threads? Did you add nuts to the materia slots or is it modeled with a screw area in the blade?
Like in the comments you may have read, this is originally Angeal's weapon before he gave it to Zack and then to Cloud although he had another different variation in Advent Children.
did you print all of the pieces at the same infill %, or did you make it gradually less (like in the rengoku katana)?
How exactly did you weld it together? What did you use?
How long of a rod do you need to put into the handle? And what size. I just finished all the parts!
I'm printing this right now actually at 100%. I just cant decide if the lower parts of the black need supports. Little worried ill get deep into the print and i wont know till its too late.
Oh god im 6 days in and still havent finished even the black half haha. I think i set the quality a little too high and infil too high. but oh well..ive committed now.

Do you have any videos showing how to add rods into long swords like this?
Definitely plan ok monkeying around with this. But for the assembly, this doesn't have pegs that would click them in place together. Would you be able to go over a little more how to do it? What to use? I know you mentioned briefly on it but I'm very new to it all and I'm not entirely sure what everything is. I would appreciate the assistance very much

I'm Almost finish printing this blade. This is my first BIG print, any recommendation how to glue all together? should i melt EVERY BORDER, or just in some parts?
So I have the same Sunlu PLA+, but I am having problems with it sticking to the bed of the printer. What temp settings did you use?

I printed this in 100% scale and 10% infill but i have too many issues with it. Its just too heavy for the handle to hold and the metal rod even bends. I need to reprint it but can i do 5% infill with 90% ratio?

Can you explain please how to really link them together? I see they have rivet holes but I'm new to 3d printing. I would really appreciate any help here especially how to link them together securely. Also the materia, is it included ik the stl file?

hi, did you print all parts at once? im trying to print a sword, but threre are many details, i dont know if i should print each part or all togather?
How did you use a 8mm rod when the STL specifies 8.3mm space for rod but printing at 90% would put you at that hole being around 7.5mm ? Wondering since I was hoping to print at 80% which would give me 6.6mm hole. Suppose I use a 6mm support rod, I'm not sure how to put the rod in so that it fills up the whole space...
