Hello Dr. Clayton! Thank you for the video! Very helpful! Could you please do a video sometime on how to take care of our hands and wrists? I find that from doing simple house chores like dishwashing, or vacuuming, or even cooking sometimes, my hands and wrists tense up so much and it’s hard to play for a while. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Hello, Diana! Thanks for the comment. I have one video that has some relevant exercises... it's an early episode, and it's called "Stretches for Musicians." If I get a chance to review it soon, I will, because Carol Wincenc had a favorite exercise I put in there. It's especially for wrists. I BELIEVE I put that exercise in there... but if I find I did not, I'll do a short! (I might, anyway, depending on how I presented it in that video....) Anyway, good luck! I know the other things we do with our bodies can certainly take a toll on what we have left for flute!
Another great vídeo, very informative and important. You really konw what your talking about. You do a wonderfull work here in work channel. Thank you for posting. Have a great weekend!
Then you know, of course, that Trevor Wye studied with Marcel Moyse and unabashedly advocated for his former teacher! He also wrote a highly praised biography of Moyse, and made no secret that Moyse's studies inspired many of his own (or he directly used Moyse's studies at times).
Hi April, Why do i feel like i banked class whenever i don't watch an episode of flutetube? my practice sessions are now better after watching part one of ''how not to fight tension''.... Thank you so much, Maggy from South Africa
Interval training - super awesome strategy! So important to know when to stop - takes a lot of self-awareness.
Yes - more self-awareness than I had as a kid. It certainly makes these exercises more effective when you're savvy about when to stop!

I like my Trevor Wye tone book.
