I watched this with my mom, who is not a wrestling fan at all, and did not realize how much she was being worked by Roman. Whenever he did anything heeling she was yelling at the TV. Yes, she knows it's all predetermined and stuff, but Roman got her to suspend her disbelief so easily. It was hilarious. Roman is that good!
Then at the end of it all, she said, "This corny shit is good!" She wanted to watch more. She wants "the drama" and so we watched some of Backlash until the Celtics/Heat game came on.
What a cool moment
Enjoy those moments, wish my mum liked wrestling.
@@KingSilly oh, my mom doesn't. Trust me.
That’s the whole point. When wrestling is at its best, it surpasses just being “wrestling” anymore, and it’s worth getting invested in. It’s almost like if someone isn’t into comic books or superhero movies, but if there is one really good character/movie/series that stands out, it will draw eyes from everyone. My girlfriend never watched wrestling before she met me and she’s obsessed with Roman and this storyline. Matches come and go but at least there is one story actually being well told in wrestling now a days, even if it means every other minute of the shows fall to the wayside.
You want a number for a psych ward
Sammi worked for a Syrian relief group and Syria and Saudi Arabia weren't having diplomatic relations so Sammi didn't think it would be the right thing to do to wrestle there but a few months back Syria and Saudi Arabia agreed to start diplomatic relations again so Sammi agreed to go
And I think KO stayed away to show unity with Sami
He's actually of Syrian decent and runs a Syrian relief group..but yes diplomatic relations have started again between the two countries
@@darrennicholson5151 Yeah from what I know Syria and Saudi Arabia weren’t technically at War but the Saudis did take Syria out the Arab league and funded rebels to overthrow the Syrian government

Thank you. I know Sami was Lebanese and he used to be not aloud in Saudi.
Jey’s reaction of “bro what did you do?” Was amazing. Jey vs Roman started this whole thing and he knows what happens when you get on Roman’s bad side. All that made it good. I was a little worried about the Bloodline story continuing but they have me hooked again.
So does Jimmy, people seem to forget Roman whooped his ass to make Jey say I Quit. He has as much reason to be pissed as Jey
@@mrperson2804 Paul Hayman is writing the hell out of this story, he keeps the drama going for as long as it's worth.
Romans reaction to the ref being laid out after he speared him fit his character so much lol. He looks at Paul, points to the ref and says "whats wrong with this guy" lmao absolutely perfect
I think that’s the same ref that bumped in Montreal lol and Roman loves to put his hand up as if he’s gonna backhand the poor guy 😆
Lmaooo facts that shit was funny
This was my favorite part of the whole thing.
I love how nonchalant Roman looks in this picture while taking two superkicks to the head.
Before I watch: Looks like Billy Graham hung in the garden. Assuming that's the reference there
Should have put explosive on those legs.
Roman gets stunned and doesn't bump too much.. you know... big man stuff! And boy was Jimmy nervous when he "betrayed" his tribal chief lol

Sami went because Saudi Arabia and Syria restored ties with each other. Sami is 2nd generation Syrian and a Muslim. Sami was free to go to Saudi Arabia anytime but he chose not to because Saudi-Syrian relations at the time.
Finally somebody tell the truth and not to mention the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Canada was pretty bad at one point but some like to spread lies and BS that he wasn't allowed when he actually wrestle there back in 2014
Well you kinda put it there in a nutshell, sami had no problems with Saudi Arabia or the people there, just a bunch of political issues between the two countries and now its all water under the bridge I guess
I read somewhere that due to the bad relations he could’ve been arrested for going there.
No, Sami was not free to go there, until the Arab Summit vote removed the ban on Syrian travel, it was NOT legal for him to go. That happened about a month ago. And the Arab Summit vote was in the face of American disagreement.
@@leeroggenburg1148 There would be zero issue for Sami, sami is...stay with me...CANADIAN.

The funniest part of the match to me was when, after a few weak chops to Roman's chest by Sami, Roman remarked, "Do you think you the "Nature Boy", or something?" 😂😂😂

It's great to hear Jim compare Zayn with El Generico.
Sami learned a lot from Generico! ;-)

The emotions that Jimmy showed during the moments after the 1st super kick was Oscar worthy.
That scream of Relief and Freedom was great after the second kick.

I liked the ending shot, Roman for once having to swallow an L and Sami standing over him with belts. The thing that wasn't as good, the cameras did not really rest on it. There were a lot of cuts to the Usos, back to Roman to Sami, back to Roman, back to the Usos and so on.
It was good to see Roman going through the stages of disbelief knowing he’d lost. The way he’s shaking his head with his eyes popped out like he refuses to belief that what just happened, happened and like a typical tyrant, is beside himself.

tbh, most all Saudis don't care about your religion backgrounds, Jews, Christians, Hindus, etc. the main issue with Sami was a problem with his place of origin, which is Syria, and back in 2011 a civil war broke out and all Arab nations placed a ban on Syria, which as we speak is being lifted and things are getting better, Sami Zayn as an individual was not a target from anyone as he is also Muslim and is not very politically outspoken.

I’m glad Jim touched on this. I’m no longer a fan of tag team matches now bc most of the time the team member who is not in the ring is not on the apron watching the match. They’re hidden on the floor. Doing what?!?! It’s the dumbest thing to me, but is it a McMahon thing? I don’t think it is bc wrestling has NEVER done this before about a year ago.

Roman definitely knew it was an accident on Solo. They literally pulled him off the table and jumped KO lol

Great match and Roman was amazing as always interacting with the crowd and getting all the heat to make the superkick payoff even more satisfying. At end of the day, keeping the belts on Roman was the best decision WWE made. The Bloodline remains the best story in wrestling today and, after one slow month where Roman wasn't around at all, it's right back to its best for MITB and then Summerslam.

Roman Reigns is an incredible heel. The difference he's made In his character is night and day between the 'Super' Roman they tried to relentlessly push after The Shield broke up. The only shame is that they didn't turn him heel sooner. Roman is the closest thing to a mega star that has come through WWE for along time. Full respect to the likes of Seth and AJ, we all love them and what they do, but Roman is on his own level right now.
Roman wanted to turn heel about 5 yrs ago because he saw how his character was getting stale as the ultimate white meat babyface. He said I'm already getting booed, so let's give the fans a real reason to be me. Also, growing up in the business, he saw how The Rock's heel turn elevated his character. Vince would not do it, as his vision was to push Roman as the next John Cena. When Covid hit and Roman did not wrestle because of his Leukemia and lower immune system. He and Paul Heyman came up with "The Tribal Chief" heel gimmick, pitched it to Vince and Vince said let's do it because it's to good not to do.
@@andyjackson304 the joke with "The next John Cena" of course is... that Cena began his RISE (not his career) as heel. Sure, Roman debut on RAW as heel, but only as the silent muscle of The Shield. He missed that "heel phase" that Cena had to show certain facettes.
I believe if Seth’s stable didn’t get ruined by call downs (Austin Theory back to nxt) or injuries (AOP joined and got injured) and the weird Mysterio thing that the Monday night messiah turning into a joker like delusional sociopath type leader vs the egotistical out of control tribal chief on opposite brands would have been money because Seth lost for a year straight and stayed super over, imagine a dominant run opposite Roman the mystique would have been perfect and I think that’s what they wanted to do smh

Hey Jim, what do you think the story of the bloodline it’s going to be moving forward when rikishi says I’m going to make an offer that he can’t refuse and Jason Fatu posting a Bloodline photo of the USOs and Solo Sikoa do you think the bloodlines going to be separated leaving Roman reigns by himself with Paul Heyman
That's a good question. However, say hypothetically the Usos left Roman by himself, what would the future hold for him? Would he still be a heel, a baby face, still with or without Paul Heyman, or much less of him than we are now because of pursuing Hollywood or personal and family reasons? Just curious
Who does the artwork? It’s always awesome!

Roman sold the loss great
This was amazing, and so was the segment on SD leading up to Jimmy turning on Roman. Good stuff.
Sami wasnt allowed over because for years during the Syrian civil war, Saudi Arabia had kicked out Syria from the Arab League, but they’ve recently mended relations between the two countries. Sami is of Syrian descent. So the issue was one of politics and nationality, not religion
The story continues as it should and once again, the result from Mania continues to makes sense bcuz without that result, this storyline wouldn’t be as effective
This match was the culmination of the Sami/KO chapter of the Bloodline and the beginning of the Civil War chapter of the Bloodline
There was an issue between Syria and Saudi Arabia, there were eventual friendly talks that began communication to the event that it seems the issue may be smoother and that made Sami change his mind

Hi Jim,
Just answering your question about Sami's appearance at Night of Champions this year & why he was not present at in past events that were previously held in Saudi Arabia.
Sami Zayn's omission from the previous Saudi Arabian events was not due to his religion but rather political (as Sami is of the islamic faith so are most of the Saudi Arabians). Sami is of Syrian descent & Saudi was in conflict Syria at the time of the previous Saudi hosted WWE events. However, Saudi & Syria have come to some sort of agreement which has seemingly eased the tensions between the two countries & therefore Sami has opted to go back there. He was not "fatwa'd" but rather the political tensions between Saudi Arabia & Syria was the determining factor in his absence from past events.
"Zayn sells like El Genérico"
Am I childish for laughing abou this?
They should have done this angle in the states.
Fartwa is sooo funny. LMAO!!! love Jim
The superkick is the new punch.
Sami didn't wrestle previously in Saudi Arabia because he's the son of Syrian immigrants, and Syria was excluded from being part of what was essentially the Middle East equivalent of the UN ( I can't remember its proper name right now).
However, Syria has since been accepted as part of that multinational organization, which has cooled tensions between it and Saudi Arabia, and thusly he was allowed to enter the country without fear of reprisal.
