- Life in rural China differs from that of urban China, and it's my first to shoot a video in a small river.
Hey, guys, today just follow my paces to explore a remote village in rural China of Hunan Province.
During the day farmers, take to the fields, leaving only the elders and small children behind and, to a casual observer, the village might seem almost empty. For writers and artists, the quiet of the village can be the perfect place to get those creative juices flowing.
Sit down on the riverbank with your sketchpad or doze in a sunny spot under a tree - chances are you can spend a whole afternoon in relative solitude.
Rural population in China was reported at 40.85 % in 2018, according to the World Bank collection of development indicators, compiled from officially recognized sources.
Most rural Chinese has lived in one of some 900,000 villages, which have an average population of from 1,000 to 2,000 people.
Rural China largely avoids the environmental problems that plague the cities and, while the streets may not always be exactly clean, the skies are usually blue.
If you're far away enough from the city, you should also be able to stargaze on clear nights. Depending on the location, there may even be forests surrounding the village, providing fresh, clean, country air, which is just what the doctor ordered for the smog-clogged lungs of city-dwellers.

Nice walk. Remember the days when I was young, used to go back to the countryside with my brother during summer, just fooling around, stealing sugar canes and goose eggs, and fight with local boys. The good old days.

@Light Spectrum No just kid fights nothing serious, and each time we threaten to call our big beefy cousin to beat the crap out of them and they back down :_) Then a couple of hours later after lunch, we will go out to steal Lichi together. It is that time of our age, we bitch but don't hate.
@Light Spectrum It was not our territory then for us city boys, those dudes runs on bare feet, we can't beat them. but our big cousin is on our side because every time we go back we bribe him with clothes and shoes and sweets :L+)

It's amazing you can simply walk into someone's farm like that in China! In the US you would likely get shot if you stepped onto someone's property like that! Just a reminder how much more friendlier the Chinese people are than the Anglos!

We were told that Shanghai and other major cities were under strict lockdown for months at a time with electric fences stopping people from leaving their apartment blocks. Your videos show that this is untrue.

@@WalkEast 真正的偏远乡村绝对没有柏油，或许有窄小的水泥路但一般维护得有点差
@@WalkEast 这种非主干道有柏油路的应该是景区周围的农村，与真正的普通农村差距还是蛮大的，中国太大 农村也多 有这种条件的上千个村不一定有一个，大多农村都是非常原始的，很多都没通宽带 没通天然气 甚至都没通自来水的，跟我去的台湾农村差的简直十万八千里，人家农村都有下水道 抽水马桶 雨污分流 而且全是柏油路。就说一点人家农民养老金 加老人金一个月有9000人民币，大陆可能也就120左右吧，生活水平差距天上地下
