  • A tour of our self converted 2017 Ram Promaster City, Fern. We spent a total of 28 days spread over 3 months, and $1,038.75 USD to convert our van. This van gets 26 MPG when fully loaded, and has everything we need for travel.

Simple and functional. It’s great as long as it covers your necessities. I’m looking forward to building my own.

Great ideas..I have a promaster city, as well and just ordered some packing cubes!
The shoerack on the back also looked good but what do you do with it when driving?

Thanks for watching! The shoe rack on the back door is permanently installed. We rigged it up and found a way to permanently stick it to the back door :)

Hey Kaun, Thanks for watching! It's not wallpaper, it's actually an outdoor fabric. We actually have a video detailing it and how we installed it in the van. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions!

Great job. I love how simple your pull out bed is. I don't know why more people don't use a simple flat board instead of all the slots. Have you noticed any cons? Also I never heard of any seasonal jobs that provide housing! Any hints on searching for those?

Thanks Sandra! We love our bed and haven't had any problems with it it's super comfortable and easy to put into bed mode. We always go through coolworks.com to find our seasonal jobs and only apply to ones with housing, most of them charge a fee but we have been lucky to have free housing In a few places.

I dig the dancing bear sweatshirt I’ve got the same van similar build out called Little Furthur and I got to take it on its first Dead & Co tour last year East Coast to West Coast. Have you taken your van on tour yet or are you planning to? Bobby is not getting any younger 😉love is real NFA!

Love that! We were going to go to the Halloween show at the Hollywood bowl but sadly we were evacuated from where we were living in CA and had to sell the tickets. Hoping to catch a few shows this summer though!

    Great video!
I know you mentioned you two are 5'9'', I'm 5'11'' and considering one. It's hard to see the head clearance. Do you think 5'11'' is too much for the Promaster City? I know I could probably drop the height of the bed to make it work but would probably compromise some of the storage area.

Thanks for watching! I think at 5'11 you should be able to fit comfortably in the van. We have a 5 inch foam as our cushion but it's just one we already had you should still be comfortable with a 3 inch foam and that would give you extra headspace without compromising the storage!
Hope this was helpful good luck with your van journey!
