- Diseases of the body garner sympathy, says comedian Ruby Wax -- except those of the brain. Why is that? With dazzling energy and humor, Wax, diagnosed a decade ago with clinical depression, urges us to put an end to the stigma of mental illness.
Talk by Ruby Wax.

That was fantastic! A brilliant way to talk about such a difficult subject!

Lol that started off so awkward, but worked out in the end. Brilliant
brilliant... entertaining and informative
Thank you!!
I think mental illness is something that many people feel very uncomfortable talking about. There are so many different types of mental illness, however, that I think that it is hard for some people to define certain things as a mental illness. But Ruby Wax is definitely right! The everyday stresses of life are just about enough to drive anyone mad. Mental illness rates are at an astonishing rate of 1 in every 4 people and she predicts that if we do nothing about mental illness, the rates will increase to 4 in 4. The real question is WHAT do we do about preventing mental illness? She states that we need to "get our lives under control". Maybe implanting stress management courses/classes, could help those who struggle with the stress of every day life.
This was awesome!
This really made me wake up to needing to have more sympathy for those who suffer from mental illness. Thank you
Super duper awesome, lady!
I'd love to see this one animated! Can ya do it, guys?
I have a friend who has Tourette's syndrome too.
I can really approve what she's saying.
It is kind of natural however to make fun of the disease, there's no harm.
But people can't control it. So patience is key, integrity too.
luv them shoes
Good analyses of the human condition.
She reminds me of my 5th grade science teacher.
Your awesome! Totally whacky, but you rock it. You seemed a bit nervous, public speakings not easy for me either. I learned a lot from you. Great video
Stop the Stigma! Agreed :)
Hooray !!! We are all MAD!!!

This woman gets it. She just knows how to tell it how it is.
Because of the stigma that impact someone emotion and affect their psychological ( such as depression )
Tell it like it is--thank you--
If only there was some sort of readily available easy to grow plant that we could all smoke to become relaxed, that also has 101 other uses. Can anybody think of anything like that?
I suffer from severe clinical normalism.
Get well soon x
You know what, when mental illness is really getting 4 in 4, maybe it will be the time to discard this phrase from dictionary. When everyone's insane, there's no insanity, that's what I think. Human minds are unique to each other, and ideally they will become more and more unique.
That was original.
WowRelation
John Travolta?

I really don't rate Ruby Wax as a comedian at all. "/
