This room is unique because it is a "hump balcony" and features extra space in the stateroom and better views from the balcony. This stateroom on Freedom OTS is located on the 9th floor mid-ship directly beside the elevators.

@@josephhoffman6860 Hey Joseph, I always recommend booking through the app as soon as you board the ship. However, you traditionally do not need a reservation and can just show up. Hope you have a blast!

Thanks for the tour. The only downfall is that tub entry. I guess it’s some kind of safety issue. In case an over flow or something. Nice balcony.
Yes, I have hit my shin more times than I care to count getting into the tube. In the newer ships like Wonder, they have solved this problem but the tub is very shallow now. We can't win lol

Did you say you were there for a weekend? You take more clothes than me and my husband says, " I travel like a rock star". We also love Junior Suites. I love the bath tub.
haha I'll have to go back and look but I could have been there for more than 1 cruise. I like to stay a weekend and then some when possible ;-) I do love the walk-in-closet and believe it is my favorite feature to the Junior Suite.
You should only need an adapter for your laptop which should run on 220 naturally, check that heavy block! Adapters can be bought less than $10 for 3. Mine have a place for an extra plug.
The one I use is a big boy one for the reason you mentioned above. If I ever forget my batter cord for the laptop, I have a backup option. It has been known to happen. I feel like I am always forgetting something.
@@TheWeekendCruiser we bought a make your own adapter with OBC we had left over! It’s good for a lot of strange things we’ve had to deal with, mostly dealing with hairdryers and mirrors not being near each other and the plug near the mirror would need a converter which needed an adapter!
Overnight we have at least 3 cords plugged in that aren’t iThings or similar, so we like being able to use the 220 plug. The Anthem was the biggest mess I’d seen! One plug near the bed, narrow night tables, etc. we asked for an extension cord because we don’t normally have even one plug by the bed on Royal. The extension cord is normally strung across the room in a way that no one trips on it. That was impossible with a 10 foot cord! Since Royal had at one time a ban on extension cords and they had sent taken a power strip we had for land in Australia we’ve been pretty vocal when they can supply what we brought, or could have brought. In Australia they gave us the power strip back after their electrician checked it. They had insisted that we could borrow one onboard, but they were the wrong configuration. Then we were told we could buy one in the shops, hubby lost it - why would we buy one when they took one that would do! That was when the electrician got involved. I now have a smaller European strip that no one seems to object to. Without it there would have been foot prints on guest relation desk on the anthem as they had been told ahead of time 1-2 extension cords would be needed.
For what it is worth, celebrity took a power strip on land before we got to checkin in Miami. Lisa was on that cruise and one of her group tried to help out as best they could.
As you do more of these videos would you watch for night stands that are narrower than an iPad!
@@redhatbear1135 I have already started to see some of those narrow night stands! These are the videos where I recommend moving the phone that is rarely used to the lower shelf to free up space as I kept knocking items off.
@@TheWeekendCruiser we put the phone on the floor! I’ve forgotten what we needed the bottom shelf for, probably reading material! On I believe the radiance, hubby kept rolling over and pushing the pillow into the alarm which prompted a 3 am call asking if we were okay! And those were the bigger nightstands! On the anthem the frame for the overhead storage few could reach it means the beds can’t be split nor the night shelves moved! I guess nothing falling off could be considered a plus, but knock a power strip onto the bed probably isn’t exactly safe!
Is it only on the Anthem type configuration? I got the impression the deep mattress were only on the 8th floor and the suites. And, no the sheets didn’t fit! Is it possible that these night shelves are only in some cabins? The layout sorta looked like the pics I’d seen on the Virgin cruise line.
I like the smaller ships anyway but those seem to be dying out. I wish some smaller would still be built but with the new greener land electricity etc.

Are those coffee makers available in all rooms or just suites?
Just in junior suites and above. You can order coffee to be delivered in the morning with room service in all rooms though.
Is there a cabin on freedom that you haven't sailed that you'd like to?
Surprisingly, I have never had a true Aft cabin. Have some later this year and am really looking forward to that!
Hi there. My husband and I just booked this cabin for a September cruise. If you could pick any hump balcony cabin on deck 9, which would it be? They have a lot available and I thought about center hump, but was concerned about the elevator lobby noise. Do center humps have even more balcony/interior space?
I do like staying by the mid ship elevators as well. The hump balcony to me is not that much larger. You may have an extra foot or two in the cabin but the difference is better views when you look outside! You look to the left and right and don't see all ship. The noise is not from the elevator or stairway but from people entering the 9th floor staterooms having conversations and enjoying themselves.

One more question - any advice for symphony? We have a cruise booked on her as well, and I booked deck 8 thinking it would be nice to be close to Central Park. We’re in an ocean view balcony. Any recommendations on specific cabins or decks?

I HATE a bathtub on a ship. I cannot imagine stepping over a barrier onto a curved, slippery, moving surface. Give me a shower every time.
They are def a novelty item! Everyone wants one but it never lives up to the hype.
