'There is hesitation in accepting priests from backward communities' - Minister K. Radhakrishnan

Kerala Minister K. Radhakrishnan, in an episode of The New Indian Express' 'Express Dialogues', says that caste and the caste system were invented by people who had brains that were as good as those of scientists. He says that most of the temples in Kerala are managed by people from the upper caste. Minister K. Radhakrishnan also points out that the government only provides the required facilities needed to manage temples and does not receive a single paisa from the income earned by the religious institutions.

He, himself, is not a believer. To become Dewasvom Minister in Kerala, an MLA has to make a pledge that he is a Hindu and belives in the Temple Customs. He proved himself an unbeliever by washing his hands publicly using Tirtha while he visited Sabarimala. If he is a bit truthful to himself, he should not continue to be Dewasvom Minister.
