Wonder what we would have missed if Charlie was born in era with no video recorders.. then he might have been a local entertainer acting for live gatherings.. probably any writer would have had mentioned him in his book that.. there was a man Charlie of unprecedented comic talent.. like we read about Socrates and Shakespeare. God knows how many such brilliance got buried in time without acclaimed just because there was no technology 😭🌺

Chaplin was born at exactly the right time, no doubt about it. He learned his craft in the English music halls and got in on “the flickers” on the ground floor. Thank God he joined Keystone when he did and created The Tramp. The rest, they say, is history!
