Only 100%? The paper directions are good for a fire starter, that's about it.

How I did it was try to center the tail clip on the board and center the black strip down the middle on the center of the board when applying the skin. Then I got my friends G3 tool and trimmed both sides of the skin. Bing bang boom. I'm sure every company would have a tool like the g3 one if it wasn't patented

You need to update this video. The included hardware isn't the same anymore

Just brought home a new pair of bd split-board skins- my nose clips are a slightly different shape. Does that make any difference when lining up the nose?

The screws that go into the tip of the skins of the most annoying bullshit about putting them together

Need this one as well, I have the Rome powder division split and it seems like these clips won't work for it.

@@marlon9498 I've ended up using it for a short tour. There was no other way than to use it with clips facing inwards. I have destroyed one of the clips and the other one managed to stay on. I'm looking at the g3 twin tip clip solution but I'll wait until those are completely shredded.

@@MrJazazello Terrible, I just unpacked it so I will just return it to the store. Did enough research on what to buy but when there was no special information just ordered the ones that seemed nice to me... Guess they should improve some information because this sucks.

Looking for answers as well. Fits nicely if I reverse them and have the tab facing to the outside rather than the straight edge.

Please have someone attempt to follow these or your paper directions trying to do this for the first time ... does not go well. Very frustrating and a waste of time and money.

This man is using a screwdriver, my kit came with T-10 screws and a tiny T-10 bit driver. The second screwhead stripped, so the project is at a stand-still until I can figure a way around the screw sticking out of my tip. I can't help but notice that your tutorial is completely different from the paper instructions. I advise you remove this video, or update the paper instructions. I can't believe I just cut these expensive skins, to find out there is a better way, which is actually advised by you, Black Diamond. I am confused, there is a stripped out screw sticking out of my skin, and it would appear that you are actually cashing in on the number of views this video has. For the record, I have the same skins for my skis. I have done this before, twice actually. I get how it goes, but that little T-10 driver is criminally small and doesn't work in an adult sized hand. This man is using a screwdriver. How nice for him. Good luck to anyone trying to assemble these off the grid with the paper instructions.

Dear lord I wish I had watched this video before I bought BD split skins. Voile is so much easier. Or why not just provide a trim tool like spark's that trim the correct amount off the edge. I am blown away right now how dumb this set up is.

its really not that bad honestly. line up the center straight side of the board, twice the width of the steel edge. cut the opposite side. re align and center up the skin, mark the tip, cut the tip excess. screw in the nose clip and youre good to go. took me a while, but nothing was difficult, just had to go slow and be careful.

    Good video.
    Normal skin job.
If you 're not able to do this forget backcountry ... Too dangerours for you 😉.
For backcountry you need to learn lot of things ( safety ropes knobs meteo...) and use your hands and head.
So don't complain about difficulty of this job. Just learn it.
