People don't give Ogre Shamans proper credit. They can clear cast and tank in a corner.

Thats because so many people have drank the p99 iksar/troll koolaid, thinking iksar/troll regen is the best innate. Ogre makes the best caster period. Not getting stunned out of a cast is way more useful than slightly less downtime.
You could always play project Lazarus on the p99 list. And be a .... cleric ogre. Or. Ogre monk. Any combo really :))

Totally agree with you on Dwarf. Dwarves are master race.
Halas is a great starting point in my opinion and shamans get night vision spells early on so that's not really an issue either. Love playing my barbie shammy
Cleric Dwarf, good stats but most of all it is a tiny race which is great for raids.
Made the same mistake on live as I did on blue last year Half-Elf Druid. Druids get asked for ports but not to join a group. My L56 half-elf Karana druid on blue has had outside of guild raids maybe a dozen groups tops.

I always thought the best race and class for a healer was the wood elf ranger. Shows you what I know. 😉
When playing my 1st class necro, I remember doing necro heal and root for crowd control around level 25 or so when our healer disconnected, barely keeping our tank alive and he thought that was cool lol. Later I played druid and noted they heal rather well especially with enough AA advancements
You forgot to mention Barbarians can 2h bash stun those annoying complete healing mobs!

MY cleric is a Dark Elf, the snare necklace which might not be around at the time and expansion this video is about but it is a great tool to have, quest in Neriak fairly easy, snaring stuff is always helpful, no one like runners in dungeons, tends to get very messy :)
Ohh and do not forget Iksars swim very fast out of the box, likely more a novelty since you do not swim that much but has it's uses at times.
Inny human cleric can get it too. Human stats might suck, but really who cares as a cleric? Being able to go to most non-evil places more than makes up for it imho, especially early game.
@@Eledaraumar It has served me well i was the snarer and healer in many groups lol, it is bit slow casting but at least cost no mana.
Never mentioned Vashar or Froglok....
Race and deity matter in Luclin if you want to wear deity armor.
Anytime your class can be Ogre, go for Ogre.
No front stun. period.

In this I list the best first.
Loved froglok shaman. Shamans healing abilities were on the same level on healing groups in pop+ with enough AAs. Stuck in p99? Shamans at 60 we’re impressive still. Race is the only issue

High Elf, and Dwarf Clerics are the best Healers. Ogre/ Barb Shammies best Utility, period. Next!!
Human Cleric Karana ( Just because its the coolest god ), Wis is easy to max Str also, Battle cleric , Sta , Agi points dump. 1 Greater lightstone done. Healers that dont watch thier AGI stat cant take hits. Druids, im just totally partial to Half elfs, same deal as cleric.
Shammies are just bots for me, so no opinion.
Now if only i could have a half elf cleric, i would die happy. Plate thong anyone, : )
Classic era (to velious) Druid would have to be Tunare follow so not halfling, unsure if human can be tunare but those clicky gloves from growth is huge.
For cleric, gotta go with tunare follower, so high elf. So, throw on starter STR to offset all that. Shaman has to be troll for even soloing. Iksar can’t use clicky jb gear. The tiny AC bonus does nothing, frontal stun immune does little to nothing as well. So troll shaman follow innoruuk, cleric high elf follow tunare and same for Druid for growth gear.

Troll shaman for the win. Iksar can't use the jaundice bone bracer and have a level xp penalty. If you play on p99 you will want to use this as well as the snare necklace you can get if you are innoruk priest class. If you play on live race is personal preference.
Dwarves are the best. Who wants to be a weakling high elf. Dwarf shamans don’t even need to shrink self but once they get grow they are a beacon on a raid. And dwarf druids look the best out of all the other races in green.

Which is quite fun. Back years ago when Emo started I did all the downloads to run my own server.
It was fun doing things like that. Any class and race. And it also got me off the crack. For I was allowed to fix the garbage Evercrack did. Making it so only the GMs friends got ahead. I played for years for like 20 hours a day. Once I did the EMO thing it took me about 2 months.
I will let this go... ogre is best shaman, just because I like you (pumbaa)

So I have to disagree with the starting location Qeynos is one of the best starting locations due to the Catacombs ZEM and Rabid Bear pelt quest.
on P99 you’re probably right.
on TLP all quests have bad exp. Got nerfed about 3-4 tlp seasons ago. And the ZEM doesnt make up for the loss of group exp (hard to find a full group in catacombs).
I personally like the Qeynos side more. Blackburrow is my favorite dungeon. It's just all the leveling population is pretty much in Freeport or Gfay on these servers

Best race dosent matter in the end, when you have all maxed. Race pro/cons had a point when game was up to kunark / velious. Later it dosent matter
