I'm glad we finally resolved the dispute of what's the better Monk race. We all knew deep down it was Iksar but those loud mouth human monks in EQ all of these years wouldn't hear it! hehe
Dark Elf is better than Erudite for Wizard, namely because of hide. Hide isn’t as useful on Magicians or Necromancer, seeing as it kills their pet. But on Wizard being able to hide while you meditate is a big deal. It keeps the random low level mobs from aggro’ing you when you sit down to meditate, and allows you to safely go AFK while meditating for long periods of time, which is a common theme for Wizards.
Enchanter, mage and monk are the only 3 dps choices if you are doing a static on a fresh tlp in classic era, and your group is racing to be in a top slot.
I had 2 gnome masks on Lockjaw then RageFire, 3 x SoD, 3 x BoC. That was the upside to have 3 times faster spawn open world and being the only guild doing it. We had so many that Guild started selling BoC and other nice gear internally for 1 Krono to fund guild bank. Something crazy was people shouted me out because I got first BoC on lockjaw. One of the Asian boxer army guys offered me 110 krono for it on day one of Velious. Crazy.
@ion blase mage is only choice GNOME .. as you can go close to the wall and pop a eye of zoom and the eyeball is send to zone in /evac spot and you can target somone and coh them to where ever you are ...thats all you need ...
Remember roaming queynos hills at night or going into surefall glade as a human, talk about blind as a bat, back then i had a gamma dial on the monitor that was often at max to see anything at all. Which race for Wiz makes you immune to summoning? cause that is a pain when higher up in level, everything summons you, my poor healing merc has to work overtime to keep me alive(DE)
Halfling have high agi and xp boost they are the best race for any class they can be.. dwarves and barbs are tanky if you didnt have tank merc they would be the best pick for emergancy off tank
I made one on P99 and messed around to lvl 16 for fun.... damn near drowned at the dark elf starting area I never had set foot in that city back in the day..... good times :)
First WE Rogue to 50 & 60 respectively (and picked necro for farming first.) Weapon drops @ standardized prices, and lack of not just competition, but pokers too..Blue. Crown of Deceit will never be implemented.
Being KoS means you can choose not to care and kill guards for exp,My first max level character so got used to killing them for easy exp while lfg,but obviously you can't do that on a rogue.
Worst guide / class line up.... If you box on live 2 zerks a must to force alliance an do a 3mil hit on both. Wizards are broken deleted my 115 after rolling a zerk. Best dps is in this mannor... Zerker, beastlord, rouges, bard( do to boosting the top 3 above) no casters rank as top dps btw they suck

i think erudite has some of the best looking armor profiles in the game. Paladins and SK...hells yes

Human is always the best race. That's why they got the night vision nerf, just to give the other races a chance.

At this point, with gear, it makes no significant difference which race you choose for a DPS class.

I play a necro because Its fun and can be challenging, not to be the best at everything. And yes EQ is still the best mmorpg

Everyone forgets the troll health regen unless it's not a thing anymore. Find with other health regen this can make wrote a very doable solo

IS there a link to the discussion about not needing to be iksar for health regen on necro? Cause i really want to be dark elf lol
I will always choose a Dark Elf Necro, just because it looks right!!!

I'd assume you could solo with a merc. Tanks are highly sought for groups

Surely you are joking. The best rogue race is Barbarian hands down, put all your stat points in stamina, the rest in str and off you go.
