"Woof, woof" - that got a massive laugh from me. Dialogue in this show is 2nd to none.
That Woof Woof joke was already in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 8 episode 10. But this shows writing is amazing!
What the joke being that dogs make the noise ‘woof’? Somehow I don’t think they got that from Sunny lol.
@@someangel-shape6797 it’s got the same exact tone when they tell someone to eat the food of the floor like a dog and he replies “Woof Woof”. I didn’t said Succession took it from Philli, just of recommended it to this person who considers this line to be “genius writing”, which is kind of is
He does a good C3P0
"woof woof" genius! Bravo Vince 👏👏
"Life isn't nice, it's contingent. People who say they love you also fuck you." Incredible quote.

Come here - Kendall even opens the conversation like Hugo is his dog
This has such a Godfather vibe to it. Incredible scene, excellent episode, phenomenal show!
Gave me the same vibes throughout the episode
I got that vibe when Hugo kept telling Kendall what was going on behind his back, Kendall would just nod and move on with the funeral like a Don
That seems to be common sentiment, even though there isn’t anything explicitly Godfather related in dialogue. But the feeling is there.
Last Jeremy strong Interview he talked about last season Kendall similarities with Michael corleone you can read it in vulture search for in in google
Definitely
"You will be my DOG ! You will get SCRAPS from the table, but the scraps will be millions !"
“Wood woof”
I would say the same !
Fuck yes
Hugo’s a clever dog
Woof woof
Kendall is such an amazing character really. So deeply flawed, so human. He has so many sides of him. Going to miss him.
Fisher Stevens is a delight on this show. He’s been consistently terrific in everything for decades.
Nice to see he was able to get a job after the fiasco where he failed to protect the Gibson computer at a multinational conglomerate company in the 90s.
@@alabamafbfan1985 If it wasnt for all those meddling hacker kids and their skateboards
I saw him years ago on Broadway in Brighton Beach Memoirs. God I’m ancient 😂
He was so cool in Lost
@@jefftee448 never should have let the public have those fast 28.8kps modems
I hope Kendall gets full Killer mode this time.
Ken has pretty much lost his family and is now full on killer mode. I can see an ending where he is the King of the Company and his staff are Hugo, Frank, Tom and maybe Greg. With the support of Stewie he can make it happen, let's see where it goes.
I’m ok with that. And Colin
He’s completely lost his mind, devastated his family and scared his kids, sacrificed his morals and betrayed his allies. He’s become exactly what his Dad wanted. He might get the company but that’s not the same as winning. Whoever gets out of the company for good will have won, I say.
@@darthcharles8004 i agree
@@darthcharles8004 I agree completly, i did not mean that when he becomes the King of the comapny it is a win. He should have quit completly to save his family and his health, but he has been so manipulated by his dad, that he will waste it all for power... sadly.
Shiv, Gerri, Carolina, Tom
vs
Roman, Kendall, Hugo, Frank and maybe Karl
The fucking zoom in on “I am the droid you are looking for” is perfect, it reveals Hugo to be such a nerdy character.
The writing for this show is brilliant! This scene is pure gold
Kendall looking at the mausoleum like "See you in hell, old man."
"Then I am the droid you're looking for!"
The way Kendall just brushed this aside 😂
This is the way!
What an absolutely thrilling scene, major Darth Vader vibes. Despite how flaky and unconvincing Kendall's schemes are, Jeremy Strong brings such an intensity to his performance that you can't help but be compelled. His dead-eyed, brutal honesty to Hugo was stirring. I also love how they framed Kendall's long-awaited "transformation" into Logan as this sad, dark thing rather than something to be celebrated. Brilliant usage of the music that played during Logan's "pirates" speech too.
Kendall threw the ball on the last play of the Super Bowl.
With every fiber of my being I wanna argue as a Kendall guy but I can’t. You are absolutely right. I’d even go as far to say he got “28-3”d in the end. Biggest piss it down ur leg moment since Picketts Charge
The score at the end of the scene gave me chills. Everything about this show is just top notch.
reminds me so much of inception! i loved it
Actual chills
it's the same that play when logan gives his speech at ATN
Woof woof lol
Dog on the floor
Next episode: "Whoopsie!"
Of the Roy's Kendall is the only one with true chances of winning, he was laying the ground long before anyone, he already recruited frank and now hugo. Not only that he is the only one who knows the business and what he is doing, the only one that has experience with this kind of pressure. Lets hope ends up at the top
he recruited Colin also, tight ship
Don't forget about Greg and Logan's bodyguard. And he already has other people around him too. He's 100% going ham in the last episode but he'll lose his family for it.
@@julianleft4662 Colin is Logan's Bodyguard
Kendall tends to step up when pressure is at max
Stewie will vote for him too, I think
Fav scene. The music makes it perfect.
Just love how he simply says "woof, woof".
That's the kind of person you can work with.
His look at his father`s grave without any sign of emotion was so powerful.
*“Roman catches. Puts up a three - won’t go! Rebound Kendall, back out to Hugo - his three pointer, BANG! TIE GAME! WITH ONE EPISODE REMAINING!”*
This is either Chris Bosh/ray allem in 2013 or Kirk Gibson in 1988. From the brink, Kendall has established himself once again
I love how this show treats its characters so unseriously, mfs are talking about stabbing family in the back to basically run the world and then you get a fucking star wars quote in the middle of it "then I am the droid you are looking for" lol
This is the way!
I have to say the collaboration between the writing and acting is harmoniously delectable. I sincerely hope Ken wins, wins big, and devours all in his way. Will he lose his soul like Logan Roy? YES! Will he be a KILLER; YES!
SUCCESSION, you will be missed.
It's very funny in hindsight to see him making these big, sweeping, capital-m Moves only to fumble the bag to historical proportions the very next episode.
Michael Corleone right here. His siblings are way in over their heads. And speaking of heads, many heads will fall. And he will lose his family. Only to reign over a depressing kingdom.
His last interview he talked about how much similarities Kendall has with Michael corleone and losing everything just to be on the top he will be ceo but loses everything just like godfather movie
This scene is key. When he glimpses at Logan being carried away, it's like him saying, ok we're done with him, now let's move on and do this!!! what an episode!!!
“I am the droid you’re looking for.”
One of the best Star Wars references ever! 😂
I gotta say, as crazy as Kendall had become by the last episode, where he exploded on Rome and Shiv at the board vote, I still believe he would’ve made a pretty good CEO. Idk if better than Tom but he was really good at speeches off the cuff and had a good mind for business, especially without his dad constantly stepping on his toes. After the last episode and Kendall’s reaction to Shiv’s decision, clearly he didn’t deserve it, but man it was heartbreaking to see him walking to the water with Collin as his bodyguard. Oh well, he can go cry with his billions of dollars lmao, I mean can’t he still buy Pierce?
Tbh you could always argue did Logan “deserve” the position of CEO either? When he was arguably an even worse person than Kendall? Out of all of the siblings, Ken still remainder the best candidate for CEO even with his outburst (which imo was pretty understandable after all the shit he’s been through even if it was extremely embarrassing/childish/whatever.)
@@eddiekaspbrak4624 I would just say that no matter how horrible Logan was as a person he still founded the company, built it into a billion dollar empire, and kept it going basically single-handedly for multiple decades so imo yea he could do whatever he wanted. I think towards the end he probably wasn’t in touch with the modern world to keep the company afloat but it was still his at the end of the day.
That beat drop at the end just go so hard 1:22!
its the same they used for Logan's "You are pirates" speech at ATN

Kendall’s gonna use the billions he got from the Gojo deal. Buy out Pierce, rival Waystar. Mencken gonna lose the presidency. ATN and Tom gonna get fucked. I’m not even tripping.
he’s not that clever
@@russiasvechenaya58 hes pretty clever. he only gets thwarted because the people around him betray him out of pure stupidity and self-interest.
The glimpse at 1.25 says goodbye to Logan.
I see it less as goodbye and more “try and stop me now, old man”
The choice for Kendall’s grey jacket with his collar up is insane, he’s rogue while everyone’s dressed in black he’s grey, his true feelings are a grey area … speaks to how conflicted he felt towards his father
Logan would probably enjoy the fact he’s still going about business
LOL dude reading wayyy too much
He's got his dracula on. Love it.
That's what I noticed
Hugo is wearing gray
Sharpest script moment of TV since a long time
The Inception-like music at the end is just perfection. Nicolas Britell didn’t have to go that hard but I’m glad he did
They way he looks at the help at 0:44 "life....it's contingent"
I got chills as soon as Hugo said "woof woof".
I'll never understand why they never capitalised on how badass this scene was. Kendall going full Darth Vader/Michael Corleone would've been epic: powerful yet sad and lonely.
Big fan of Kendall Corleone.
This episode showed that Roman is unstable and Shiv is a joke. Kendall in one.
“Life is not knights on horseback, it’s a fight for a knife in the mud”-Logan Roy
“Life is not nice, it’s contingent, people who say they love you fuck you”-Kendall Roy
the writers forgot he said this
This scene had me so pumped for Kendall to win just to get blue balled at the end
"Then I am the droid you are looking for." LMAO
Seeing Ken take all his pain, suffering, experience from Logan and just become the ultimate killer is so satisfying
It honestly felt quite sad, too. Kendall in this scene came across like he did in season 2 - just completely hollow and emotionless, and seemingly disillusioned with the very idea of familial love. His grand eulogy for his father was more an ode to capitalism than a remembrance of the man, because that's the closest thing to a "happy" thought he could muster up about him. This episode clearly set up Kendall's ascension as a tragedy/Pyrrhic victory more than anything.
Only for him to flip it because he was too overconfident and arrogant and even not telling everyone why would they shouldn't agree with GoJo deal
He is the ELDEST BOY!
The music at the end of this scene..... So fkn good
Ken has become his father now, there’s no going back for him, and I think the reason why Hugo easily agrees to being his “dog” is because he sees Logan in Ken now and the determination to do anything to make sure he’s the one in control of the company. Same with Frank in an earlier episode when Ken told him about Mattson’s inflated numbers, they have both seen Logan in Ken now, which isn’t a good thing.
Hugo was on the kill list so him helping to tank the deal could’ve also kept his job, and that’s without gaining access to the would-be future ceo, and the millions $$$ promised
Logan’s villain theme coming back in at the end was awesome.
The final look towards logan for approval, dead empty eyes. He didnt need the approval this time, this is the version of Kendal Logan always wanted
He’s not looking for approval - he knows he no longer needs it

The most evilest of villain music EVER! Please let it be Kendal
The score change is fascinating
Kendall spend the majority of the series as Fredo, now he's finally transforming to Michael Corleone, hope this time it will work out.
That's true. Which means that he will be more powerful than ever, but will end up alone at the top. Roman probably dead, Connor living his sham marriage now in Logan's apartment and Shiv... Divorcing Tom and marrying Matsson? She has always turned against her own family. She worked for a senator who was an enemy of her father.
@@CynicalBastard511 damn this is one of the worst predictions of any tv show I have ever seen. Thank God you are not a writer or we would get stuff like fast X more often
@@CynicalBastard511 Roman imploded. I think Matsson just used Shiv and did not like her at all. With Mencken also not trusting her, she could lose everything.
@@ckelvin2079 I hope she loses everything. She's an awful woman, just like her mother. And I hate how she always treated Tom with no respect at all; she even cheated on him. No wonder Tom grew a pair by the end of third season and he's savage on this 4th and final season. He had enough of being humiliated by her, to the point that he even questioned her if the child is his or if she's him playing for fool.
@@CynicalBastard511 Connor and Willa have the most honest and mutually supportive relationship in the entire show now.
Thats the second time that theme plays. The first was when Logan gave the speech to ATN in his very last episode.
true, might be the hint we need to see Kendall as someone who has finally matured and understands the weight he'll have to carry but something tells me it can go either way
I have a feeling its Kendall or no-one. Shiv is too inexperienced. Roman is distraught.

Perfection.
I do truly hope Kendall wins.
This might be my favorite scene in the entire show
Kendall has to win!!! He has Hugo, frank, and Stewy in his pocket. Karl admires him after living + and Roman kinda fears him, I think the stage is set for him to kick shiv out of the door.
'Kendall has to win!!! He has Hugo, frank, and Stewy in his pocket. Karl admires him after living + and Roman kinda fears him, I think the stage is set for him to kick shiv out of the door." Now that it is all over, I suspect Shiv always suspected that one or both of her brothers would kick her out, in the usual attempts to keep her "clean." Push came to Shiv, and Tom, who always wanted the CEO position, got the help from his wife that she could not/would not give him while Logan was living.
Not sure why they even filmed this scene if they were going to do Kendall like they did in the finale
It's to show the tragedy. The siblings would rather screw each other over than lift eachother..
When the music kicks in, just chefs kiss
This ties into what Logan was saying earlier this season. He was saying people are economic units at their core. Here Kendall is using money as an incentive just like Logan would have. He knows was Hugo wants and he provides.
Hugo is a great guy for Kendall to pick up. He's on the kill list as is, so even if Kendall didnt offer millions its still in his best interest to kill the deal and stay loyal.
the music at the end is simply masterful. it makes you think that ken might actually be the killer his dad wanted him to be.
He is. In the end he turn into his father. And he was the only one who didn’t want to be like him. But it was all for nothing.
Life isn't nice, it's contingent.
Ken also treated Roman like a dog in their final conversation this episode... Berated him for "fucking it'" but then patted him on the head as he left and told him "it's alright"
when hugo said woof woof i smiled so fucking hard. KEN IS MAKING MOVES 🔥
Such a brilliant show in all aspects, acting, writing, directing...how the camera goes to the workers clearing out the chairs to accent the pivot of Kendall from immediate chores at hand to the future of what's at stake...his baddassery!
That scene in America Decides where Shiv and Ken are having that conversation about him being a ‘good guy’ was the pivot of his transformation, he’s hellbent now.
i feel like kendall is gonna “win” but he’s gonna be completely miserable. his siblings will hate him, he will become just like his father, his kids will hate him
Who cares they are even worse than him
his siblings are no saints tbh
he IS miserable since the beginning just like his siblings wdym look at this whole family 😂 so yeah if he can be logan roy he have to win
If Shive wins after stabbing everyone in the back I’ll be disappointed
Badass scene hope Kendall wins it all
1:12 kinda weird they recast Mondale in the second to last episode
Kendall really has become his father
The brutality of the show, Kendall: ‘Life isn’t nice….’ camera cuts to the poor chap picking up the chairs. 😅😅

Kenbros we are SO back
Anyone who thinks that Ken getting the top spot is bad bc it’s predictable can just go enjoy that other massive HBO finale that gives the crown to an unexpected character. Enjoy Bran the Broken (Greg) while the rest of us bend the knee to King Aegon Targaryen (Kendall Logan Roy). Predictable doesn’t mean bad and unpredictable doesn’t mean good.
EXACTLY, you get it. thank you.
Yup. He been up he’s been down but this season has been the slow ascent and the crowning of the king. People thinking Greg would come out on top have always been bananas.
This comment right here. It sets up Kendall perfectly and it’s what we’ve all wanted to see from the beginning of the episode. He’s been at the center of the show taking beating after beating and always losing. It was him who Logan said had to be a killer, and fulfilling the father’s words would bring it full circle with Kendall winding up becoming the no-fucks, unprofessional businessman he always accused Logan of being and inheriting the same iron fist and pragmatism.
They fucked the entire GOT with Bran the Broken… absolute disgrace. I hope they have learned their lesson.
How'd bending that knee go?
The Score is so haunting at the end of this scene.
The same music they played during Logan's shark speech. Hmmm foreshadowing either Kendall's succesful bloodthirsty rise OR Ken's death ???
Just a thought
I can't believe that's Roger from Friends!
Ewan's depiction of how Logan stopped trying during the eulogy, to the side eye from Ewan to Ken after his big speech, to the almost direct segway to this scene. Yeah it's wraps for Shiv and Roman and everybody really, the writing has been on the wall for a while
In just one episode, Kendall somehow forgot his own words here & got fcked.
The way the music comes in, and is full on Sith Lord-like, just sends chills down my spine.
This episode was awesome, one of my favorites for sure in the whole series.
Oh my days…that OST at the end….chills!….
Darth Vader x Succession shit
How the score picks up at the end of the scene. My goodness it was riveting.
Sam Adler Bell wrote, in reference to Freud's "Totem and Taboo," that Succession ends when the children successfully cannibalize their father. This scene is Kendall consuming his father, his strength and vitality, and taking it as justification for his reign. I'm sure he's going to fail on the way to the crown, and the after effects are going to be grisly, but it WILL be his. I think, notably, Ewan's eulogy, wherein he describes the death of his sister, will prove revelatory about what Kendall's blood price will have to be.
The daughter and fascists might be a Chekhovs gun and he gets the crown while the people he pumped up kill his child.
In a sense, he did get a "meal fit for a king," but I was wrong about the finale hehehe
"woof woof" he didnt even hesitate...
es interesante como kendall se nota mas malvado a medida que avanza el capitulo, las solapas del abrigo para arriba como tipico villano dbsj
Literal transcript of Rupert Murdok talking to all fox news hosts and contributors
Kendall had a very "Michael Corleone" vibe to him this episode. But if he's planning on going to "war" against Shiv over the company he better remember that she knows about what really happen with the waiter who died at her wedding and how Kendall was there when it happened.
Only other person who knows is Connie (the bodyguard) who now works for Kendall so Ken covered that - I hope
Shiv has no proof, and even if she did, it happened at her literal wedding. She'd be just as guilty as him for waiting until now to share that.
Is the waiter thing really an issue? The waiter knew what he was doing, I don’t really see a potential legal problem for kendall. He could easily “lawyer it away” imo
@@iansteenblock5010 Totally agree if anything Shiv/Madson could go after Ken (PR wise) for his shitty relationship with his kids while Shiv is a “mom to be” etc
She has no evidence or power over that situation. They showed news articles about it when Logan first covered it up. It will not come out, and rich people never face accountability in this show
Love the music that kicks in lets u know shits about to go down next week 😊

I wish to have this exact conversation with a billionaire so I can say “woof woof” I will gladly take the millions and millions of scraps 😂
Strip away the nepotism, the bribery/blackmail, the vandetta, the thirst for winning. At the crux of this scene is the human nature of following the lead of someone who's confident in knowing where he's going.
