    E * Zest works great if used properly, even on coins! Yep, that's right. But you have to do it very quickly to only remove unwanted toning and not the elements of the metal itself. I've used it on poured silver too if the natural toning isn't coming out the way I liked! I've sold collector coins after "dipping" in E * Zest without an issue. Before I ever did that, I checked with a couple of coin experts including my local LCS owner whose been in the business for 40+ years. He says the damage can occur when the coin isn't property rinsed. Anytime I do clean this way (only when it is absolutely necessary I might add) I rinse with filtered or distilled water (it doesn't have the chemicals of tap water) and then blow dry on a medium setting to avoid any unnecessary contact with the coin. Sorry so long, but I felt I needed to supply this information. Anyway, your poured silver looks great! I've done this with my poured silver that sits on my desk when the toning starts to look ugly!

      I don't have any problem at all dipping silver coins that have little or no numismatic value in E-Z-Est, and this includes my junk silver. Shiny silver looks nice. Let the coin collector hissy fits commence!

    I feel the same way. I clean my silver, as well as my 90% circulated coins. I dont care if others dont like it. Im the owner, and clean is how I like it. Its how I choose to enjoy my silver.

    I got a kilo RMC poured bar and it came with a milk spot/ dirty casting spot on it. Took a dremel tool with a felt wheel and some of the red compound and 5 seconds of that took it off but still left an area that was obviously "disturbed" by that removal, so I went over that with some FLITZ polish and a makeup sponge by hand and it brought it right back to the original finish. And the FLITZ polish doesn't have any abrasives in it. Great stuff. Can't tell anything was ever done on the bar, it just looks great.

      Oh man, The 5 oz Skull looked killer with the rainbow toning. I would have left the skull and .45 with the toning and cleaned the 20 Ozer. But, I totally understand wanting all shiny silver and it ultimately comes down to the owners taste. Thx for the video SS! T

      My housekeeper worked off some pieces over the last year or so and I gave her some as they had tarnished. A quick dip was all she said was needed to get them all back like new.I have bought mine in the gallon jug for a not too bad price(can't remember) on ebay.

    Cleaned up nicely. No muss no fuss. That’s why I like to leave mine in the plastic bags though. If a piece was antiqued though, you could definitely take off the antiquing by rubbing it FYI. Take care, LL

    I hear you just wanted all to know if you follow slackers lead on poured bars as I have buying the small under 10oz size can add up over time gallon is over 20percent cheaper than the small containers this stuff really works great I love shiny so this is the answer I think on old bars this should increase value I know some love toning but on an old bar this makes pouring lines pop

    Great video for us with poured silver toning issues!! Is there a reason you didn't use the aluminum foil/baking soda method? I would think that would be less abrasive... thx 💗

    • @astralclub5964
      @astralclub5964 Před 6 lety +1

      Aneia I was thinking the same thing! The aluminum foil, baking soda, and hot water method works just fine. I've cleaned some real ugly black, junk silver roosies and they come out shiny and new! No muss, no fuss.

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 6 lety

      Easier this way and no worries about the abrasiveness of the cloth. You can't tell on it. Plus that baking soda doesn't always work for the white spots just like the EZ-est didn't work on them.

  • @roxdude
    @roxdude Před 6 lety

    A Bar with milkspots.
    maybe be intresting to see if they come back but really if not something gradable it don't really matter. Obviously with more collectable coins never clean them but just bullion coins does it really matter i think not.
    Same with poured stuff. Especially if you handle it..or out in elements gonna tone and tone..dipping is always best option if done right. Great vid

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 6 lety

  • @williamstdog9
    @williamstdog9 Před 6 lety

    Will that work on milk spots on RCM products? {Yes I know you're not supposed to clean coins ppl, but if I'd rather have something in my collection WITH milking or WITHOUT, I may consider that cloth - for certain items..}

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 6 lety

      Yes I have used them on coins that I wasn't ever going to get graded, and it will remove the milk spots no problem. Just know that you are putting micro scratches on them they someone might see through a loop. Not by the human eye unless the cloth was dirty when you used it.

    Hi, Silver Slacker. I currently have a total of $10,000 in savings. It's essentially dead money as it's sitting in a bank account doing nothing and that just makes me uneasy. I'm looking at new investments and came across your channel. My ohh my what a great channel you have! I have two main questions. Should I invest soley in Silver or should I also get some gold aswell? My other
    questions is, Should I be buying as much as possible right now at the current price? $16.41 USD as I'm writing this and what price should I not buy above?, I saw that it was almost double this a few years ago. I'm not looking to flip it or anything like that, I plan on stacking for most of my life and selling some in order to purchase a home later on down the track. Thank's for your time.

    • @TheSilverSlacker
      @TheSilverSlacker  Před 6 lety

      Thanks Mike, I'm glad you like my channel! :) I don't give people investing advice but I can just share with you what I do. I am mostly into silver and not gold because of the gold to silver ratio is really out of whack right now at 80 to 1 or so. I did two videos on it that go further into depth if you want to check them out: czcams.com/video/kVVSpa62PBM/video.html
      As far as when to buy and at what price that is almost impossible to tell. The price can fluctuate all the time. I have been buying over the last 5 years and been averaging in. I really slow down my purchases when the price gets to the $18 spot range and completely stop when spot price hits $20. Also another good video you might want to check out is have an exit strategy and depending on what that is might change what type of silver you are buying. czcams.com/video/Y39Ee4xLCKA/video.html
      I hope that helps!
