Hard facts. And this is what I've been trying to tell people in these comments. I'm not a huge Kendrick fan at all but when dude jumps on a track, that's what the focus is. Future and Metro released a whole damn album and the talk was Kendrick's verse on one song. Him jumping on Keem's Family Ties had people breaking down his verse for weeks and anticipating more from him. Like you mentioned the Heart had people talking on that. When he announced Mr. Morale like a month before it's release, people were talking. I hate this narrative on how they're trying to make it seem like Kendrick ain't shit. Lol. Literally any time dude drops any kind of music, it's the topic of discussion. They trying to act like if he dropped an album, YT wouldn't be flooded with listening parties and reaction videos.
Can’t agree on the TPAB take. You cannot like it, but to say it’s sleepy? Lies. Especially not coming from Cole. There a legit old tweets from Cole saying how he falls asleep to his own music.
J Cole dissing Kendrick discography is a weak move considering Cole’s discography is very up and down. You can’t say TPAB puts people to sleep when there’s about 2-3 forgettable albums from Cole.
Disagree with Rod. Just cause Cole made direct shots/lines at Kendrick doesn’t make Cole on top. If those shots are weak and don’t hit, doesn’t automatically make you the winner. To me it’s Kendrick 1, Cole 0.5, Drake N/A.
@tony4534 that's not even close to true just in the 2020s his discography is amazing with nearly 6 awesome albums and the kings disease series of records being some his best projects ever It's okay to say you don't fuck with him but to say his discography is one album is completely disingenuous and you know it Bro reducing one of the goats to career to one album and one diss just shows your lack of knowledge on hip hop and its simple as that Nas has 17 studio albums at most 2 to 3 of those aren't above average or even good to great albums . To condense all that to his most popular 2 things just shows you only know the surface level
Dot doesn’t need to diss for clout. Every little thing Kendrick does in between albums gets hyper focus and coverage. When he came out for the Super Bowl, people were hyped When he appeared on Keem shit, people were hyped. “Amazing brother” When Kendrick made the post about leaving TDE, it sparked a ton of conversation about the future of that label. Unfortunately Cole's whole "diss" was an L. He went against his own word and logic a bunch of time, lol. For example, I don't remember which year, but before Mr. Morale dropped I remember people going crazy when the dude from Dissect Podcast analyzed how INSANE Kenny's feature on Pusha T's Nosetalgia was. That FEATURE verse was like 8 years old at that point or something. Or whenever we'd hear new Kendrick Leaks, pictures of Kendrick just chillin'. Kenny's always in the conversation. People gotta be honest, Cole's projecting, because if it wasn't for his Feature Run, it's easily him who wouldn't get discussed. The Off Season dropped one year before Mr. Morale and people STILL talk about Mr. Morale, whether they like it or not. Cole's projects are unfortunately pretty forgettable for some reason. And I LOVE Cole. But he's the one who put the Bronze on his neck.
This narrative that nobody talks about Kendrick till he disses needs to stop. Because I can pull hundreds of videos, on this here CZcams, that’ll prove people were making content and still discussing Kendrick even during the 5 years he didn’t have an album or feature
I still remember months before Mr. Morale came out when the dude from Dissect Podcast broke down Kendrick's INSANE verse on Nosetalgia, which was like 8 years old at that point, and that went viral. Kenny's always in the discussion. Cole's projecting HARD, because Drake is a Pop Star, Kenny's always relevant and HE is the one who put the Bronze on his neck, no one else. If it weren't for his features, most people would probably forget about Cole, because his albums for some reason are forgettable to most people. I love most of them, 4YEO, KOD for example, which people hate or call boring. But yeah, Cole's defo projecting with that line.
the diss was wack because J Cole just lied on the track. How you gonna say he's part of the big 3, then say his catalogue is wack?! Especially since his catalog is universally praised. I just don't get it
He called Kendrick a superstar not too long ago too lmao. Called half of his catalog mid and then said he was trailing behind at one point? What does that make your catalog? Kendrick has at least 2 consensus classic albums. So trying to insult his discography is the wrong approach. He needed to stick to dissing him from the standpoint of "you hardly ever come outside".
criticizing kendrick's discography is such a reach. also saying he doesnt drop music enough is such a weak argument. when was that a measure of greatness lol? i think he couldve done better on a better beat. however i do respect him for at least going for it. unlike drake who will probably just hide because j cole has already used all the twitter talking points
If bloating albums with mid songs to the point of releasing 2 cds means the standard of relaasing quantity of music, then Drake's Scorpion would be album of the millenium

I love cole too but I’m sorry, but cole fans hyping this reply up just for the clicks or for the desire to instigate soem type of rap beef. That reply was WEAK asf. Most of the “ harder” bars didn’t even make sense. “ 4 album in 12 years, nigga I can divide”- this was not only a stolen line from Takeover, but it didn’t even make sense in this context cus cole and Dot have the same number of albums since 2012😂 “ if we wasn’t dissing then we wouldn’t be discussing him” Oh really cole? Didn’t you give him a free shoutout on FPS even after he dropped his “ worse “ album after being in hiatus for 5 years Oh and we’re not even gonna entertain him saying TPAB was boring. Regardless, 4YEO, which is best project IMO, stil doesn’t even touch Mr Morale, let alone TPAB
completely agree. in addition, i really dont understand the quantity over quality argument that ive been seeing lately. like when was that a measure of greatness back then lol?
The point of, “Cole is up because he took direct shots at Kendrick” doesn’t make sense. Some people are treating this like boxing and some are treating this like a street fight. In a boxing ring, if Cole punched Kendrick 3 times and Kendrick never hit him, but also Kendrick never flinched or showed signs of damage, then Cole would still win because he’d get points for hitting Kendrick. But if the same thing happened in a street fight, then everyone would say Cole is weak.
@southside6093 objectively speaking is funny. Whats even funnier is no Black people listen to TPAB besides 45 year olds and die hard kendrick fans. It has 0 relevance with the youth. J. Cole actually gets played at BBQs, kickbacks, baby showers, smoke sessions, weddings and birthday parties. Yall always gas TPAB but I've yet to meet somebody who listens to it who wouldn't self describe as a "die hard kendrick fan". Cole got Power Trip, Nobody's Perfect, Work Out, No Role Modelz, Can't Get Enough still playing in casual settings. And his mixtape run is legendary. Kendrick is an album artist.

Sorry, but for me, good verses on features over the years dont make you a better in the GOAT conversation as much as full albums. Maybe better in the moment but all time? No. GKMC its a certified classic (still in the charts), you might not like TPAB but it was a critical darling (there are like 20 1hr long video essays on youtube, books and podcast seasons about it, + 6 grammy wins), you might not like DAMN but it was full of hits and bangers, 5 grammys and a Pullitzer (1 in the whole genre). I still don’t get why people are acting like Cole’s bars about how often Kendrick drops are good. There’s nothing good about pointing out that an artist takes the time with their music. And Kendrick is never not out of hip hop conversations so again, Cole just missed completely with all that. He really had nothing to come at Kendrick with lol

The Idea is that if you're saying you're the best, but you're coasting on something you put out 10 years ago. What have you done lately to maintain your status as a GOAT? Cole is pointing out that he's been consistently putting out quality. and he has more quality music than Kendrick does overall and that right now, currently, he's putting out great music and Kendrick isn't putting out anything, yet still feels he can call out others.

Tpab is overrated.
The point of, “Cole is up because he took direct shots at Kendrick” doesn’t make sense. Some people are treating this like boxing and some are treating this like a street fight. Exactly!
Did you even listen to the song? When that song came out the initial conversation was how Cole destroyed Drake on that song and that Cole is the best rapper of the 3 right now. Kendrick was an afterthought. There's a rumor Kendrick was supposed to be on First Person Shooter and if thats the case he has every right to say "F the big 3"....but for now Kendrick is the one who crashed out.
@@qthe6thman nigga did YOU listen to the song? And ain't no way Dot was gonna be on FPS, that man don't fuck with Drake AT ALL! Kendrick been subbing Aubrey since King Kunta (although it was Meek that outright exposed him after the fact.)
@@qthe6thmanCole has been name dropping Kendrick multiple times in his career bro. Dude is clearly jealous while looking up to Dot. He a whole bum with a mid discography
How can Cole say nobody was discussing Kendrick when he mentioned Kendrick and called them the big three... before Kendrick's diss?
This response showed me that there’s a lot of Cole miners still out there.
I see more Kendrick hate than anything. Even the tho Cole love is shallow asf
They're both corny
Dehh use to be heavy on Cole miners . Myke always called them out on it 😂
