I live in the US and we don’t have homes this wonderful. We just have plain buildings for the most part (the worst ones are called “modern” by the builders and people who buy them when they’re actually just devoid of character so are just cheaper). The beauty, craftsmanship and creativity of this home give it such a wonderful energy and presence. It’s timeless. Well done and thank you for sharing.
I think this is one of the thing that makes Morocco so special. Its craftsmanship remained alive and to this day there are thousands of craftmen and craftswomen. In part it's because of the state who made it a priority decades ago. If you ever visit Morocco, its wonderful to see what can be done with their hands. From clay they male wonderful zslije (Moroccan tiles) and pottery decor and Basins. From wool they make gorgeous plus rugs and covers. The details in the wood and plater carving. They also make unique fabrics like brocade for Moroccan Moroccan Kaftans, alors with centuries old Embroidery. The items they can make out of leather.... Its beautiful and I hope it will remain for generations to come.
@@house684 Not at all. The vast majority of homes in Morocco are variations of Riads and Villas. "American-style" is either colonial or ranch which are practically nonexistant in Morocco. It's actually the other way around and mediterranean-style is extremely popular in America.
I own a riad in Marrakech..best investment..as people have said, these buildings are beautiful constructions..the walls are very thick, so the outside world ,even though it looks incredibly condensed, doesn't intrude ,aurally.I wouldn't put anyone off of buying one of these lovely houses..the people are super, the weather is wonderful...etc..go for it..😎
Totally agree! I would just be careful if you purchase for tourist renting, cause some riads are very deep in the medina and strangers will have many difficulties to find them. That was exactly the case of Dar Shariq ;)
Great place, stayed in this riad a few years ago didn't want to go out, showers are some of the best I've used, found it extremely difficult to find must of went passed it 20 times before finally finding it, other than that it an amazing place, video doesn't do justice to real life experience.
Great video but maybe you should have very soft sensual Moroccan music as a background to seduce your audience. Just a suggestion. Also the booking information as well.

but American-style homes, Western style homes in general, are extremely popular in Morocco itself.
