- On today's video, we tour some equipment at a Ritchie Brothers equipment auction. There were a variety of things I was looking for, but quite specifically a mini skid steer. Ended up with a paver roller compactor.

Great that you picked up the roller compactor 👍🏻👍🏻 Congratulations.!!
Thank you Carl!
@@iamahardscaper I'm looking forward to your video showing it in action and how it fiffers in operation from a standard plate compactor, if you plan on that that is. I understand they're typically rather expensive.
I’ve used them before, it’s just a much smoother process to compact. Less worry of breaking slabs and works with 1” square cut flagstone. It’s just a pain that it is such a specialized piece of equipment.
@@iamahardscaper Wow, 1 inch with such a beast. Cool control.
Hey, I'm an operator too so I thought I'd swing by and leave a comment.
Appreciate you leaving the comment!
I would take a look at the bobcat s70 I do almost all tight access projects and it beats using the stand on mini skids. I love my mt100 but the s70 is the go to!
I got in one to feel it out. Only thing I don’t like is not having tracks. But it does seem like the perfect machine for tight access
im not a fan of the s70 but im a concrete guy, that mt 100 to me is better than the s70 if u get a concrete breaker for it, but to each is own. a track machine is almost nec in the midwest
Just bought an sk600 and this thing is a game changer.
Nice purchase!
Also, you should try renting out the ditchwitch brands. Sk755, sk800, sk900. They are 36" wide only and very good machines for precision control. They are the heart to what's helped build our business.
Ditch witch is just not as popular here as it is in the states. There just aren’t as many dealers and they are too far away.
I like it very much
Thank you!

20000 is insane. Regret not buying excavator last year when prices were “lower" for our property
It was definitely a good deal. But if the economy continues to tighten up I’m sure there will be a good deal still
I've had some good results at those auctions and some learned lessons. 😄 be very sure on used equipment/vehicles before bidding too high. Many times they are at an auction to mask/hide some of the bigger issues you would ride once actually driving or using it. Brand new, unopened has been very good results with a good price tag.
Nice, great advice! The roller I got was unopened.
Dave S. - I've never been to one of the auctions but I find them fascinating. Just curious, what have you been able to purchase brand new from these auctions that worked out for you?
@@JaxRwld typically smaller items like boxes of grease, trash pump, power tools, tires.
How do you find auctions in your area?
You can Google equipment auctions in your city. These Ritchie brothers auctions are in a lot of locations worldwide.
