    Great comments, I sell a good amount of equipment at RB. I agree with the comments that most of the equipment being sold is in terrible condition or just wore out. The only decent equipment at the auction is from a contractor selling out or going bankrupt, the rest is most likely junk. Oh and whoever at RB came up with the appointment system for loading out equipment after the auction should be terminated immediately.

    I was at the Orlando February auction and it is VERY impressive. You actually cant see everything because there are so many items. Bring a cooler and food and your old lady. It is an interesting experience. Corporate needs to get involved because as much fun as the auction is the office staff in Orlando are incompetent. I am one month waiting for a vehicle title from a truck I bought (lot 14824). The truck is now setting in my yard for 1 month and I cant use it and I quit putting money into it until I find out why they don't give me my title.

    • @Jsnure1913
      @Jsnure1913 Před rokem +3

      Had the same problem with them when we bought a few service trucks

    • @matthewkelleyhotmail
      @matthewkelleyhotmail Před rokem +6

      @@Jsnure1913 I ended up filing a complaint against Ritchi Bros with the state of Florida DOT. They are regulated under their license as a car dealer. After a month of writing them and pleading "where is my title and why am I not receiving my title", I received notice of state violation and fine by the state of Florida DOT for "failure to complete the title transfer". Ritchie Bro office staff was telling me to "be patient" about receiving my title while they were telling the state DOT investigator that I had failed to complete a power of attorney paper so they could process my title. The infuriating thing is that Ritchie bros wont tell you why you are not receiving your title! They will instead tell you to "be patient" while they process it. After 30 days of waiting and trying to be "patient" the buyer gets fined by the state. When we file a complaint with the state of Florida, the complaint against Ritche gets dismissed because the customer (you) "failed to do the dealer power of attorney form" and that gets Ritchie off Scott-free without repercussions from state regulators. Download the power of attorney form off the Florida state DOT website and complete it and include that form with your complaint to the state of Florida. I have at least 40 hours of work getting my title and filing complaints against them. I love the auctions but the people who work there don't care about buyers or maybe they even see us with contempt. Ritche could just explain why we are not getting out titles on the website but they wont. IN the end the State DOT fine against me was dropped but it was a lot of hard work with state investigators investigating Richie bros.

      @@matthewkelleyhotmail my dad had a similar issue with the Ontario auction, we didn’t get fined but it took way to long to get our machines off the lots. And the stupid pandemic forced us to schedule pick up times that somehow our truckers had to meet by. I feel they are just so big now that the customer relations just don’t mean as much. I also miss the drive ins, now they just do online and don’t drive the iron through the doors

    • @JTTS2021
      @JTTS2021 Před 6 měsíci +1

      I drove 2000 miles to pic up a trailer I got for really good price . . After 15 days and 9 days in a motel waiting for them to get the title work done. It's a mess F%#C RB/ iron planet . They are horrible people to deal with.

    • @matthewkelleyhotmail
      @matthewkelleyhotmail Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@JTTS2021 Was this the Orlando auction? I sent a letter to the corporate offices based on the address for their SEC filing and it was returned. Corporate does not want to even hear about how their system can be improved. They do not want to know of problems that buyers are having. Corporate does not even want to know why customers are filing complaints with state regulators. I ended up buying again at Richie bros. auction since I posted this and this time I knew what forms I needed and I downloaded them off of the state of Florida website and mailed them by certified mail. Things went well this last time buying but I now understand what I have to do to get a title and I did not wait for them to drop the ball again. I even became a seller and I put an industrial air compressor through the auction site. I actually recommend selling equipment through Richie, but not buying through Richie. This is because people are paying way too much for heavy equipment right now. I could not sell an air compressor because it was a 50 hp that ran on 3 phase power. When I crossed that line and I became a seller I got white-glove customer care like I was a King as a seller with my own representative with a personal phone number I could call. You cant believe how good they treat sellers of heavy equipment at Richie Bros. Sellers are golden but the buyers get the ball dropped sometimes. After you make payment for your purchases sometimes there are problems that new customers cant fix and the office staff just keeps telling you to "be patient" like the buyer is being irrational.

  • @ronaldfulton1175

    Majority of it is destined for 3rd world countries because of expensive repairs needed, cranes close to or out of code. Major leaks deep inside that are expensive to repair. I hauled a CAT grader out of there to Texas. Small independent reseller bought it online...he was very sick when he saw it in real life. Argued with me that no way it was the piece he had seen online. He was more sick when the serial number was exact. It was completely worn out, battery box was made out of paper mache, fresh paint over grease/oil and new decals. Started it and worked the controls...oil was bubbling through hoses. Only redeeming features were the nearly new, albeit dry rotted tires that held air and all new glass. As they say, let the buyer beware.

    I’m a disabled combat veteran rated at 100% permanent and total. I love watching these auction videos and hate knowing that I’ll probably never get to own them. I was lucky enough to get a deal on some land in Wyoming. My reality is, I need a good used D4 bulldozer to maintain the road and a good sized excavator like a 320 to do the things I dream of doing. If I were ever granted a wish from the make believe, Make A Wish Foundation, it would be to have a friendship/adoption deal with the owner of one of these big auction companies. Great video. 👍🇺🇸

    Where does the bulk of the heavy equipment come from? I have always been interested in how it got there. Did a company finish the job and perhaps used it a lot and then the next job wouldn't require, say a Backhoe and then the company decides to sell..Do leasing companies sell older stuff here? Is the seller usually larger companies, leasing companies??
