Jayshree Patnekar: Raag Kafi Kanada

Jayshree Patnekar performs Raag Kafi Kanada as part of the FEA-curated The Secret Masters Sessions 3 concert. It includes a lovely bandish composed by her guru.
Jayshree-ji was accompanied by Bharat Kamat on tabla and Suyog Kundalkar on harmonium. Tanpuras were played by her student Amrita Shenoy and Sudhir Katwate.

just so you know it was Pt. Mallikarjun who specifically taught her 'his' inimitable style of singing. One of the his 'few' true students. Its nearly impossible to replicate his rendition - but the style is quite evident. And the fact that she makes it her own is essentially beautiful.
