My only advice is don’t feel shamed out of getting the epidural lol. I didn’t feel the contractions or birth at all. I didn’t feel the needle either. Delivery was a fun experience which a lot of people can’t say. I was eating snacks and texting my mom while pushing my son out. There’s no prize for pain 🤷🏼♀️ Don’t let people shame you into anything when you’re pregnant or after you give birth. How you feed your kid, circumcision if it’s a boy, if you use pacifiers and everything else people will yell at you about is up to YOU
My wife and I just had our first boy, crazies experience of our lives. If you plan to breast feed, just do it! Babies can loose a 10% weight before you leave the hospital and you won't be producing a lot of milk. We had an issue where the nurses were trying to force a bottle because they though we weren't feeding him enough. Our mothers heard this and freaked out and told us to tell the nurses to leave. We are happy to say our boy is very plump now at 2 months and is constantly attached to mom. Its tough at first, but natural, so just do what you feel is right and don't let anyone push you into anything you don't want. Cheers!

Very true as long as you know the signs for dehydration. Losing some water weight is normal as long as they gain it back within a month. It’s tough to tell in the first few days, but as long as they are content and going thru diapers you’re good.
It's okay to be scared Hila, child birth can be scary and intimidating. It's not all that bad though. I had my baby all natural, no epidural because she decided to come 6 weeks early and fast. By the time I got to the hospital they said I was too dialated for the epidural and pain medication. I was in labor for 2 hours and hard labor for about 30 minutes. It hurt like the worst menstrual cramps I have ever experienced but it didn't hurt nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Christina described it very well, it does feel like you're shitting. Feels like the biggest shit of your life, feels like you're massively constipated. Not sure why it feels that way but it does. On the topic of shit; some women accidentally shit while pushing their baby out, which is a lovely way of welcome your offspring to this world. Best of luck to you and remember it's not as bad as you think! Oooh, and focus on your breathing it helps with the pain and gets that sucker out faster! Much love! ♡

In my personal opinion I feel like some of the things said in the video make pregnancy and labour seem scarier than what it is ( I understand some people have worse experiences ) but honestly I've had my first baby this year he is currently 10 weeks and although it's quite daunting the whole idea of labour but the best thing to do is try your best not to overthink it and stay as calm as possible the calmer you are the easier it is,. Let's be real our healthcare is the most advanced as it's ever been and no matter what happens things will go as smoothly as they can be just listen to your midwife and your instinct and it'll be okay. Even the whole talk about tearing and being cut if you need it trust me you would want to just have a little cut you can't even feel it and nor the stitches as you'll be fully numbed the pain pretty much goes straight after you give birth it really is the most surreal thing in the world. Good luck to both of you it's gonna be okay just don't overthink everything because that'll be your biggest concern, just be prepared for anything and keep open minded

My daughter is 10 months now and she's just the funniest girl. She has her own personality and funny quirks that she finds hilarious. But yeah, that initial drive from the hospital to the apartment is such a nerve-wrecking drive. You know then and there that you are 100% responsible for this tiny, fragile baby for the rest of its life.

My nephew was born was an extra digit, it’s tiny tho, it’s like on the side of his thumb. He’ll just have to have a quick surgery to remove it tho, like no big deal. He’s only 2, but it looks kinda just like a skin tag but a lil bigger, it def doesn’t look like a finger, I guess it does have a nail bed tho but you can’t see it it’s so tiny. Surely no one would abort over that right? I know they’re kidding, but I wonder if anyone really would. Like, it’s easily removable. Idk 🤷🏼♀️
Manny Calavera well they didn’t know he’d have it until he was born..plus she got into a car wreck with a semi at 5 mo pregnant but only came out with some broken bones basically (and thankfully) and baby was obv OK, so they just had no desire to abort, they intentionally got pregnant. Plus, like I said, it’s a very quick surgery to remove, i wouldn’t see the purpose in aborting just because of a small issue like that, in his case just a surgery he’ll need as a toddler. I had surgery at 3 because of an umbilical hernia and I barely remember it and that’s a much more complicated surgery.

Asking about the doctor's episiotomy work: ask the l&d nurses or the PA's or midwives, they work with the docs all the time and see the results on the other new moms. They can give you their opinion on the doc if you ask them.

In the uk if you give birth in the morning you are normally home that night. Or if you give birth at night your normally home the next morning. With both my babies I was out the hospital and home in less that 12 hours
