Leaving high school is like leaving the vault in fallout 3
Tunnel Snakes rule
Kevin Toma we’re the tunnel snakes and we RULE ru ru ru ru rule.
So fucking true. I hated high school.
nah, i think you’re still the same person no matter where you go. to truly change, a person must face the repetition of trial and error to correct their unwanted behaviour.
Christopher van deelen
Holy Shite I've never more true words. Oh and tunnel snakes rule.
Mandatory fight nights in high school to let out anger
Steeler Nation03-6 god damn right
You just broke the first two rules
Wrestling?
Chaingun juan and boxing 🥊
This all started with the zero tolerance rules in school used to be if you were bullied or someone messed with you not only was it acceptable to defend yourself but it was encouraged now if you fight back you're labled a trouble maker and you're suspended the person defending themselves are the ones who usualy are punished it makes no sense
High school students especially have become so used to it. No one takes lockdown drills seriously; instead of preparing seriously for the inevitable, we all play Pumped Up Kicks on our phones lmao. We don't care. The novelty and fear has worn off, now we're only cynical and sarcastic about this shit. We are tired of this; we don't want to have to go to school worrying about getting shot.
we talk about how it there’s a real shooter we’re gonna yell about where we’re at. there’s just a bizarre lust for fucking death.
the students playing pumped up kicks and making jokes about the shit are the kids that like dark humor which is not the majority of the high school students
Lmao I thought it was just our school
They do it to the kindergarteners too 😐😐😐
BETTER RUN BETTER RUN
that guy who stopped the school shooter should be a mortal combat character
A guy tackled a kid in my school who had a gun lol
Shao Kahn in disguise
We should separate everyone into 12 districts and each year hold an event where a group of people fight to the death.
Not Fortnite Content Yoo they made a movie based on your idea bro! (It’s a joke)
Not Fortnite Content They made that shit into a book
Yo they have Minecraft servers like that
Dude someone stole your idea
I think I prefer 50 girls and 50 boys killing each other on a deserted island than the shitty rip off you’re talking about
I agree kids need more sleep. I’ve been sleep deprived for the pass 3 weeks. Getting even 5 hours of sleep is amazing for me.
Same here I get around 4 it’s painful and go to bed when I get home and miss my work
Genevieve Nolan me too sis
I slept 2 hours last night to be completely honest if guns were legal here I would either shoot myself or everyone in my school
what do you mean by sleep deprived bc many people don't go long periods without sleep...I have had 3 weeks nonstop no sleep...you hallucinate after one week....by the third you almost need to be institutionalized....I've been studied in sleep experiments in college so saying you had atleast an hour of passing out means you slept..i had sensors on me shocking me to stay awake
thisbrokenmachine I don’t think they met no sleep.Just barely any sleep.
tbh your talk about how high school doesn’t matter made me feel so much better about going into college. u guys are like my gay dads
You got this!!!
Made me feel good too
Bro, I felt genuinely happy when they said that
@@rykertomanek8186 Take it with a grain of salt, if you dont do well in high school you're probably not gonna go to a nice college.
@@jaymills6691 My issue is I was moved up from 6th straight to 8th grade because of academic performance. So everyone in my classes has been friends from preschool and I am basically the new kid. Luckily it's my senior year and I have made friends. Sadly no girl wants to date the youngest senior at my school. I'm 16 and I graduate in May lol
For a while during high school I was extremely suicidal, and I didn’t think my life was worth a damn. I remember my mom just saying, “ you just gotta get through it, after high school you can be who you want to be.”
Thanks for making it through man. A lot of people needed to hear your message.

good thing u didnt get smashed in the face by a basketball
This is how the reporters think: "Yes!!! The death of all these 12 year old kids is going to make me so much money!!!"
Reporter talking to a 12 year old: "So little Jacob what was it like to watch your friend get shot in the head and you thinking that you're about to die?"
Brad Churchey Not at all, journalists exist to relay the news to you, without talking to people involved how can accurate information be translated to the public? Ethically there is a balance to be struck between accurate reporting the need for the public to have the information and the delicacy of the situation you are reporting on, honestly the job is emotionally and physically draining and low paid and you get shit on by the people who don’t realise quite hw important the job is - all because you love the job and want to tell the stories of real people and real situations, and yes you do get some bad apples but this is like any profession
Another piece of evidence coming in, The suspect was enjoying a refreshing dr pepper as he slayed almost 23 children, nearly beating the high score!
Cosmin Costea the problem is everyone with twitter thinks they are a journalist, however those who have actually trained as journalists use twitter as a very effective tool
ban assault sodas
You hear people getting acid thrown in their faces or something on a daily basis on london and you keep your job and dont deteriorate in work quality, its because you are a sociopath, and as a sociopath, you know how to exploit people and do not give a fuck while doing so if it makes you big bucks, and this is not an exaggeration in the slightest. Which is also why most therapists suck at their job, because who wants to hear about x y z graphic issues daily for 8 hours a day, you would fucking need therapy as well, most people quit their job if they even give a fuck about people to begin with. And the ones that don't enable it for more money for more clients, usually preferably easier clients. People are lazy, greedy, and selfish. And if they arent those things in these kinds of jobs and keep the job they are fucking crazy or pill popping. No lie at all.
Subject: "How do we stop the shooting crisis?"
Last thing talked about in the video: *Man with monster muscles defeats child shooter with a basketball to the face*
Erik: "No one gets laid in high school."
High school girls: Pregnant

Well it’s not like guys can get pregnant so
@@juliuscaesar1062 not really. all the pregnant girls in my school were just fucking the whole highschool. there was like 5 pregnant girls in my 4 years of highschool. its disgusting.
Does anyone think we shouldn't allow the identity of shooters in media?
No it's useless. Just get rid of the guns. If there weren't any guns to steal from his dad or any other place he could get a gun, this shooting would never have happened. Same goes for every other shooting
I mean by putting them on the media, you give them EXACTLY WHAT MANY OF THEM WANT, ATTENTION
Victor Mustin LMAO WOW THIS GUY IS A GENIUS! Incase u missed the memo, the weapons used in this shooting where; sawn pff shotgun, a hand gun and pipe bomb. The father legally owned the shotgun the kid stole it and sawed off the barrel, he also stole the hand gun and he made his own pipe bombs, banning guns would of done nothing the kid would of stole the guns somewhere else or even worse only used pipe bombs which could of lead to a much more disgusting event
School shootings get the exact same coverage here in Canada as they do in the states and you don’t see them happening here. To say that the media coverage is the main contributing factor to school shootings like Ethan was suggesting is naive. While I agree that the media should cover theses shootings the Phillip De Franco way (don’t say their name and don’t show their picture) I think it’s still important to talk about their situation so that we can understand how we should be stopping this.
In every other country that has banned guns the murder rate goes up.
Jason, the Hero, was my teacher and he told us when we were in his class that if it happened he promised that he would would protect us. Couple years later he protected all of the kids and got to fulfill his promise. At Noblesville we are having our finals not count if they hurt our grade because of the kids who have been traumatized or hurt by the experience. If it wasn’t for Mr. Seaman there would’ve been many more deaths and injuries but not many people know because they don’t care about the hero’s and only the villains. The media needs to focus on Hero’s like him and not the actual event or the shooters
Well said, thanks for sharing
As ozzy man would say, fuck yes mate, fuck yes.
Props :)
This should be the top comment on this video
It really doesn’t matter when you watch this video
Elpapi chulo it actually does once you watch the Neil deGrasse Tyson highlight from one of the more recent podcasts where Ethan basically misinterprets Neil’s tweet and criticizes the shit out of him while also insulting him. It was about media and society itself creating too much drama and emphasizing shootings so that people always respond with more emotion rather than thought, and Ethan did just that.

It's incredible that this is the most in depth conversation I've heard that analyses ALL variables involved in school shootings aside from guns. Incredible.
And yet the extreme availability of guns is the one variable that is uniquely American and may, gee, I don't know, explain the whole fucking thing.
hotvision oh geez. Well, I don't know.. explain the gun violence worldwide? I lived in Venezuela. Only people who had guns were bad dudes and cops (which are basically the same.) After living there for 18 fucking years as a target and seeing so much GUN violence. I'll take a minutely dangerous freedom over "safe" Government control. From a nation that has 300+ million citizens. School shootings AREN'T an epidemic. You know what is? Black on black crime in Democratic cities with STRICT gun control.
Riddle me that will you?
BROperatorTIME black on black crime? Which I haven’t heard of a black school shooter so shut the fuck up
I wish your podcasts made more of an impact. It's a shame that mainstream media and television is so disconnected from this area of youtube culture. This is real shit, spoken about in a mature and respectful way. The world needs more of this.

There's always a mature way of being immature and to me, that was it.
"They fetishzie them" it's true they do! And they love it, the shooters see this and they love the attention. I had a psychology of evil class and we studied serial killers and back in the day they would give them names; the nightstalker, BTK, ect... they purposely stopped doing that BECAUSE of this. they have to stop giving the shooters attention and when they are caught they'll just enjoy it more.
BTK gave himself the name BTK

I get to wake up at six on late starts
Sorry to hear that?
What the hell is the youtube comment section supposed to say about that? lol
Ricky Johnson just correcting him asshole
Kit Kat . Not really though. Clearly Ethan was making a generalization, therefore he did not actually imply that every single kid wakes up during those times. This kid just wants people to see how privileged they all are and how tough his life is
Ebon uh no? They aren’t saying how privileged other are, they are saying that yeah, high school students actually have to wake up extremely early which is ridiculous. Like Ethan just made a generalized time when in fact it’s earlier and that’s just so fucking sad. They aren’t saying they have it harder, just that yeah school system sucks nowadays
Bruh I wake up at 5am
The 7am start time is MOSTLY because it's more convenient for parents. Drop your kids off at school then off to work at 8
Also so you have time after school for extra curricular stuff
Also for kids who work. I work at 4;00 pm, so i need school to end early
Ye for our school it's about sports
School ends at 2:23
Sports don't end until 5-6
pablo lantigua Wrong. I work the dinner shift at a retirement home. 4 is the ONLY time you can start if you're working a dinner shift
Im im 7th grade and my school starts at 9:05 I dont know why but it does
True, but where i live elementary is 9:15 - 4:15, middle is 8:15-3:15 and high schools are 7:15-2:15, to me it would make more sense for the younger kids to got to school earlier as they need more help getting to school. Then again it also has to do with high schoolers working and high school sports soo...
I almost killed myself so many times in high school because of the insane amount of stress, especially when you have strict parents who are disappointed in you for getting B's and scream at you for getting C's (not even talking about overall grade at end of semester). The expectations for you are absolutely the most crushing thing. It feels like you have no room to choose your own future.
Cornberry I was the SAME exact way.
Cornberry
And it gets worse every year. The little kids get more and more work and less time to just play and be kids. The US is trying to catch up but all they're doing is destroying the morale of children. They need to follow better examples and fix the school system.

The schooling system in America is atrocious, that's probably the biggest issue.
All the stories I've heard about American schools are insane, like the teachers don't even TEACH, they instead give you a shit ton of homework so you can do their job yourself.
There's so much shit that America should learn from Northen Europe it's ridiculous.
+Perkele Itse Northern Europe? So you mean that the U.S. should double the tax rate, make everyone a SJW, end free speech, and increase the rape and terrorist attack rates?

I wish it wasn't such a bad thing to be pro-American. Because the US is really a great country it's just that compliments get overrun by complaints and democrats. Teachers are great, what you've heard is pessimism and poor focusing
Robust Sauce I live in America but the European school system is alot better
There's so much that can be done.
-Armed Security
-Better Mental Health Research/ and Treatment
-Better background checks for people who purchase firearms
-Parents need to do a better job at raising their kids
-Law Enforcement taking action when they are alerted on someone who is potentially dangerous (and it's sad I have to say that, but the Florida shooting could have been prevented if law enforcement had acted because they knew well enough about the suspect.)
And one thing that is important. Don't give shootings wide spread coverage. Do you know why there's been more then one shooting recently? I would assume a contributor is the news coverage and having mentally ill copy cats wanting to replicate what they've seen all over the news.
There's so many people who are mentally ill today. And it's not even just school shooters. I've met sketchy people. I'm sure anybody reading this has met sketchy people. Yeah, they're not school shooters, but they're clearly mentally ill.
Society also contributes to mental health. When people are young, the part of their brain that relates to emotions is very active. Society today has obviously changed to what it was 10, 20, 30 years ago. Something is causing young people to let their emotions get the best of them and become mentally ill.
Lejend Dairy shot the CZcams one as well the dad warned police and they did nothing its insane
Fucking novel
Lejend Dairy See, you immediately lost me at "Don't give school shootings wide spread coverage."
First off, how do you know for a fact that these guys are copy cats? There hasn't even been a study proving this, so you don't know that. But one thing we ALL know is that if people arent informed about this shit, they'll never see it coming, or, at the very least, won't be prepared for it, won't take action to try to prevent this from happening so much (and please for the love of all that is fucking holy, don't say, "Oh, but you can't prevent school shootings" or "you can't prevent these massacres from happening," when YES, WE CAN). I don't know where your idea of "don't give school shootings widespread coverage" so people don't stay informed about horrible things like this came from, but it blew my mind when I read that quote.
Lejend Dairy we almost had a shooting at our school 2 years ago, the cops successfully recieved the report and found a gun in his backpack.
The Majestic Spider why take the risk though, even if they areren't, we don't know, so why risk it, you know what i mean

Actual real solution: better parenting
@@outmindbeats exactly!!
@freezeme360 those ppl need moral and emotional support and education, ok. Were trying to stop this problem at the root. Trauma usually starts at a young age so that's why we work on the thought processing of humans when they are younger
@freezeme360 starting is better than not. Also you should still keep your gun. For personal safety and the option for ppl to incite revolutions(if need be). But, to keep/own your gun, a psyche evaluation test must done to determine if you are a mentally stable human being
@freezeme360 that's true
actual real solution: ban guns
I think parents and adults need to stop saying "this will be the best part of your entire life make the most of it" every adult I encounted- my parents, their friends random bus drivers, random grandmas etc.
During high school I have anxiety and depression, it was the worst during school & high school because of all the pressure and I was so unhappy every time some one said that I just wanted to die. The year after high school I was so numb, I felt broken i started a mind numbing job and drifted for a year, I felt like I didn't deserve a future because I failed my last year of school. Then I decided to study, i didn't think I'd get in, I did, I moved out studied hard now I have a part time job in my field and I'm looking for a second job and I feel like I can cope with a lot of the shit I've been put through. In a way I feel like because I had no support from my parents, teachers etc. I am able to handle nearly anything by myself but it so nearly went the other way, sometimes I'm shocked I survived and didn't succeed in ending my life. Life sucks but it's all about attitude. Sometimes we're born without the ability to see the light at the end of the tunnel it's awful, it sucks, it's sad. It doesn't excuse hurting others. Adults need to step the FUCK up. Kids need guidance. Kids need support, help and love. They need outlets like mentioned in the clip, and they need to be cut some slack. Kicking a kid out for fighting that's like labeling a kid a failour before thier life has even started. I dunno why I've rambled on but I will post this in case any kids out there read it. Life gets better, work hard, know your limits but don't be afraid to push yourself, if you don't like it change it, take every oportunity and try new things. The biggest waste of life is regret.
Karo Krane I know the feeling, most of this shootings happens because of how hard bullies push other kids to exhaustion.
they said the same to me but it was the shittiest period of my life so far lol
Tom I know right! Life starts after you leave school and join the real world!
Brink Esourd thanks! I'm glad if I could have helped even just for a moment. Keep well. X
parents dont say that about highschool, they say that aboout college.
One of the reasons teachers work students so hard in America is because they have a merit pay system for teachers. Teachers can make more money if their students have higher grades and as a result they push tons of homework onto their students. And like you mentioned, teacher's pay is already bad so this extra money can be very important to them.
how do we fix that?
dastardly dan caesar chan Well in Canada there is no merit pay system. Teachers simply have a higher salary. So the solution would be to remove the merit pay system and raise teacher salaries.
We already dump so much cash on the school system but the USA is really really close to the average salary. As a matter of fact higher than other European countries. But id support taking away merit pay and replacing it with just higher pay. long as we dont just throw more money at it. Cause that hasn't worked.
honestly teachers should be paid a lot more they can literally influence the entire future a good teacher can raise a child that changes the world
Maybe have fewer students and not deal with 20-30 kids as well; no one could handle all.
"You want the meat? We have the meat we're the meat makers" 😂😂💀

Dude I go to bed at 12-2 in the morning, and wake up at like 5 to finish homework. Sometimes I even just go to bed and then wake up at like 3 because I just get too tired to do homework. High school sucks man.
If you exercise right after school, you will fall asleep easier instead of staying up so late. The fatigue will force you to sleep on time. But also, stress is proven higher these days to similar levels of mental patience for those in schooling. So, researching stress reduction it suggests exercise, walks, reading fiction, listening to music, having tea, videogames, that kinda stuff. Just a suggestion don't need to follow it to a T or anything.
i do that shit but i blame myself because i have shitty time management
In highschool, I was routinely given more homework than there were hours in a day. It was never a problem of balancing my free time to do it. It was a problem of deciding which to do, and if I should even bother.

I honestly think a major part of it is the flawed school system like you guys mentioned. I graduated high school about a year ago and I hated it so much despite the fact that I went to a nicer "artsy" high school. I couldn't imagine having to go to a normal high school. During my senior year, I'd occasionally have fleeting thoughts about shooting it up, and of course I'D never act on these notions, it's just high school can get you in this very destructive mindset. Luckily for me, I was never bullied or anything like that, but if I had quick little thoughts about shooting up my school, I'm sure someone who has endured more mental anguish would actually consider it. Now after having graduated high school, I realize how much of it doesn't matter at all. It is a temporary prison, but it definitely should never feel that way. It is my personal opinion that the United States looks to the nordic countries such as Norway, Sweden, etc as examples for reforming the school system here, because not only do kids actually learn more, but it comes off as a much healtier environment.
I never really said it was going to be "fast and easy." I recognize that fixing our school system will take a lot of work and time. And we don't neccessarily have to emulate what they're doing, but we could at least learn from their example.
What type of mindset is that anyways? If it isn't quick and easy, it's not worth doing?
Ok so you are blaming being a psicopath on the school system... Ok....
I am spanish and I can tell you the school system is way more fucked in here, it's 1000 times harder to pass exams and I didn't even think for a second about shooting up my school. The problems is that you guys glorify violence and guns, and have no empathy or love for the rest

I don't think the pressure on kids is the problem. Asian countries don't have this shooting problem, they have a suicide problem. They got 6-4, night school, and cram schools before exams. They don't get breaks except when travelling from one cram school to another, and they usually end at midnight. Their suicide problem stems directly from all this work and the possibility of not meeting their parents' expectations. I feel like media attention is the difference, since they want to negatively affect others and they want to make a name for themselves.
chris hates [insert] I'm pretty sure though, that asian countires have a very tight lock on guns.
chris hates [insert] many kids in Korea and China kill themselves after they fail somthing or drop below an A due to the amount of pressure. This is very common. The only difference is that Americans feel as if they should bring others down with them.
Crafty Crafts for Kids I mean he didnt say anything bout getting bullied, so saying only Americans bring others down with us isn't really true. It's just the pressure you get when getting bullied. He probably wanted revenge on the kids. And he didn't have the balls to end himself, so yea.
Virus Vill I'm not talking about getting bullied I'm talking about the pressures of getting good grades and how it makes kids think they dont have a foreseeable life if they have bad grades. I literally never mentioned bullying.
Crafty Crafts for Kids yeah same in India people say that if u bring shit grades in exam during 10th grade then Ur future is fucked even though its complete bullshit.
7:00 AM school start time comes from the 18 Century model of schooling that is the same classroom we have today: compartmentalized, left brained, and industrially oriented to produce efficient workers. Our models for classroom education in general havent changed structurally in almost like 150 years think about that.
I'm glad that we switched the blame from the gun itself to the parents. I grew up around guns my whole life, that being said I never had easy access until my father was sure I was competent and responsible (which wasn't until I was 18 anyway and could purchase long guns on my own. But not only did I not have access, but I was also raised in such a way that I would never have even considered trying to steal one for ANY reason let alone killing people. The true blame lies with the parents, as with almost every single case of a child committing a crime. It's about how we are raised and how our parents deal with things like guns. I hold my guns, and my right to defend myself very dearly and I'm very happy to see that we are starting to consider as a society that the guns are not the primary problem.
Agreed, keeping your guns out of the hands of someone not fit to use one is your responsibility.
George R. R. Mountain it’s also the responsibility who is selling guns. I’m a liberal and don’t think we should get rid of all the guns, but we absolutely need better background checks and classes on responsible gun use.
I like how the only countries with easy gun access is having these problems.
Just throwing that out there
sle except countries that don’t have guns have much higher violent crime rates. You don’t need a gun to kill people. You can cherry pick data all day, just saying.
Gewdvibes by you saying that you’re cherry picking data, they may have violent crimes but so do we, there will always be violence, but the ease of being able to pull a trigger and kill someone is the issue. as I stated, I don’t think we need to ban all the guns, but we damn well need a stronger system to make sure the people who have them are trained and not lunatics. everywhere you go there will be crimes, but if you are saying America doesn’t have a gun problem, then you are in denial.

This is true in a way. Even with this psychopath. He specifically said that he "spared" some people so they would praise him later.
Also don't show crying and heart broken classmates. That shows bullied kids how they can get back at people and make them hurt.
No. You almost never actually know who the rapist is. Also i think its a really bad comparison.
no rape is a bit different as kids mostly aren't the lead rapists around the world kids lack the ability to think for themself so when someone gets shown everywhere they kinda idolize that person wanting to be shown everywhere and get all that attention too so they do what that person did to get famous in hopes of also being famous people have done it forever idolizing celebrities and wanting to be famous like them when they get older

I graduated high school a year early, college is literarly 100× better. There is never any spats, no body cares what you wear, everyone is super supportive and watches your back. Its a different life. College kind of makes you realize high school really doesnt matter. You have a lot more freedom, and if you dont like someone, you'll only see them in class for 15 weeks and then its over. Its not a nine month school year ordeal. It does get better. Just stick it out. I had lower grades in high school than I do in college now, and the work load is less, but your assignments are more meaningful, and you actually feel like your learning. Stay strong! Power through it!
Thank you for talking about what it is like for teachers. I am a school teacher in the UK and I cannot imagine having all the stress of being a teacher AND THEN THE THREAT OF A SHOOTER
Certain countries hire philosophers to keep the morality ethics of the company in line. Take Norway for example. We could make it a thing where the media has to abide by a standard of ethics and morality, and consequences if it would be broken. Don't think it would change anything without the proper influence being pushed on the importance of philosophy though.
Calling them philosophers wouldn't be a good idea, people wouldn't take them seriously.
@@kuunt6065 mainly because they're mostly right and no one wants to admit it.
@@Rendo86 no, because philosophers are typically seen as snoddy pompous rich assholes who's job it is to think, something we do every day
when i was in the 5th grade we had bomb threats constantly. it was January and freezing as we had to stay outside for hours.
Erin McEwen one time my class got a "threating call" the day before and they made us go to school even though they got a threat for somebody to attack our school so we had police inside the building and we were being shuffled around I had to calm down my friends a lot so they didn't have panic attacks. We went to school even though there was a bomb threat and because of that, a bunch of 12 and 11 year olds were panicked and scared for 6 hours to learn nothing (we literally didn't even go to class we sat in the library and walked around the building till the end of the day)
Tuxedo bird one of my schools in my district had a bomb team in the school because the day before someone wrote on the bathroom wall that they were going to bomb the school the next day
I got put in isolation (basically being suspended but still having to come in to school) because he was strangling me and I had to push him up to breathe- you know that thing you have to do to live?

Spot on about how stressful school is. The biggest worry I have about getting into teaching is that a lot of people are going to get pissed off when I don't want to dump a mountain of work on top of my students.
thabk you for that speech about life after school that totally changes, i really needed that.
"I just couldnt wake up..." thats my college experience so far
Just wait ...if you don't complete school all.good paying blue collar jobs start at 6 or 7 am.
It’s not a h3 podcast if Ethan doesn’t say that shredder is cute.
This is so true though. I remember at high school literally having the thought of killing myself if i failed. Fortunately i passed but even so upon the many good years I've had so far, high school did nothing for me on that
I've felt like that but because of the stress it causes with homework ,tests, and my guidance counselor talking about how my grades and they affect my future college applications etc. Sometimes I fake being sick for a day just to take a break from it all. I don't get any sleep because I'm to bus worrying about if I did my homework correctly or if I forgot to do anything I needed to for tomorrow. My family life is perfectly fine it's just school that's my issue its slowly killing me.
Mandatory parenthood would be a start. Any involved parent would know something was up. The irresponsibility of the parents are to blame for most of these tragedies.
Vegas was a false flag. 100%.
i live in Australia, the school that i attend has a room with youth carers that you can visit anytime during school hours if your feeling angry, depressed suicidal etc and it has helped many of my friends that suffer from mental illness or bullies which i believe has really has saved a lot of lives plus if you don't want to talk about your feelings with them yet then you can chose not to. plus in Australia guns are illegal you can get a gun license if you really want to own a gun but the vast majority of the country doesn't have guns which prevents kids from obtaining firearms from their parents. the only sort of bullying here is verbal and still as long as you can make a come back to a "Roast" or just brush things off and keep calm then your fine.
i personally believe that to stop school shootings we should, stop the media from glorifying school shooters, just make your gun laws stricter just lower the accessibility of guns to people who shouldn't have them and allow teens _especially_ to have a place where they can express their emotions and be taught that really, *high school doesn't matter* and life * i believe that this will help the drastically help save lives, but i'm just an outsider giving my thought on this topic if you have any constructive criticism i will be more than happy learn and consider and discuss any thoughts.
Gohan R no u.
In the US, there are guidance counselors who do the same thing, I could say a lot on guns as well but I won't.
Gohan R we have these to
The US already has very similar gun restrictions, although we did not have a gun buyback. And also your crime rate went up when guns were banned so.....
The issue with gun control is that it believes if you continue to place more restrictions, you'll stop criminals, not the law abiding citizenry who are not ever going to commit atrocities. California is the state with the most strict gun control in the entire nation and also coincidentally one of the highest when it comes to gun violence. Chicago being the single deadliest city in the US aside from NYC. This strict gun control includes long waiting period, many ammo restrictions, "assault weapon" bans, magazine capacity restrictions alongside many other smaller amounts of red tape.
I do agree with the part about the media however, but we need to seriously reconsider what the hell is going on with young boys when this is becoming a common occurrence. Something has deeply changed within the last 30 years, and guns only becoming more restricted with over-all gun violence on a steady decrease doesn't make it the reason for them.
I was waking up at 5am to get to school...
OspreyBravo18 4:50 for me
Try 2-3:30 am every day for the last two years of high school (so I don't have to come back to make another reply the reason why is year one zero hour class starts at 6:25am then go to EVIT and get home at 4pm. year two I like my tv time and I'm used to it)
That's ridiculous. My school always started at 9AM
I wake up at 6:20 but school starts at 7:45
I woke up 4-5 as well just to mentally prepare and drag myself out of bed.
I had a friend in high school who was suicidal and depressed for most of the four years and always talked about how he was pressured to take rigorous classes by his parents and often stayed up until 2am doing homework and studying. After we graduated he got a schedule that started at 10am and was doing less work at university and is the happiest he's ever been.
I graduated on the ass end of all of this college prep stuff, but I will say there was a *visible* change in the atmosphere when it was implemented.
My old high school now runs "Blank" drills where they'll do a lock down and the principle will go around the school firing blanks from the school handgun.
I only graduated 4 years ago. For the first 2 years of high school the classrooms didn't even have doors. First year it was just standard as thats how the rooms were designed, and the second year was because we used temporary rooms during the school remodel.
The last 2 years the each room got serious thick ass doors with heavy locks on them that could all be locked down from the main office in the case of an emergency.
Shit has changed alot in just a few years.
DemonGrenade274 “School handgun”? The fuck? Is that shit just passed around the classroom or something lmao
Its used for track and other sporting events.
"Go when you hear the bang"
About two years after I graduated some kid tried shooting up the school, he managed to shoot the principal but the bullet just grazed him. Another member of the school staff managed to tackle him to the ground and stop him from killing anyone luckily.
They do that in my school even now (I'm in grade 12) . They've done it ever since I was in grade 6...
............. your school was DEF WAY behind on the norms lol. If you graduated 4 years ago.......they were about 15 years behind the standard in US.
April 21st 1999 it all started. The immediate day after Columbine. Schools.nationwide began the "zero tolerance" program where even pointing finger guns in excitement with your friend gets you suspended. Lockdown drills and "active shooter" protocol for police all began that day nationwide.
The protocol chabged ummediately day agter Columbine where they surrounded school before.going in treating like a hostage situation. Since then protocol is first officer with a gun goes straight in immediately. You dont even stop for a victom bleeding out because every second the shooter is active more people are shot.

Trust me! Wealthy people wake up way before 7am. They didn't create success by waking up at 11am.
It's too simplistic to blame the established media alone. They do it for the clicks and views, the consumers give them those clicks and views. There are two sides to the coin. It's a cultural and legislation problem.
Combine that with the insane availability of guns, and there you have Murica... Other countries also do have the above mentioned problems, but don't have this insane amount of mass shootings. I wonder why that is?
But of course I need muh guns
Blame the consumers? Your telling that natural curiosity is to blame as well? You do know the media focuses only on people’s natural curiosity saying it’s part of the problem is saying why one of the kids got killed “well Timmy if you weren’t there then you wouldn’t have gotten shot cause your also part of the reason jim there started shooting see it’s your fault too”.

i go to Noblesville High School and we have finals next week but due to the shooting the school decided to give the finals but the finals will only count for your grade if your grade improves from it. The school district is also changing the start times for us in like 2 years.
Luke Watness I go to west. I knew the kid that started the school shooting. It was scary when you could hear the shots.
I go to Cathedral but I live in Noblesville. Shit is scary. Too close to home.
So u all pass ?
erick miller not exactly, your grade can't go down with your finals. If you final grades lower you grade they won't count. If you do well on your finals than your grade will go up
my middle school dedicated a whole day of school for school shooting drills, like where we should escape to from each room, which doors not to use, which ones to, how to take down the shooter, which classroom objects to use as weapons, how to find useable exits in a classroom, etc. it really is absolutely terrifying.
There was a kid at a high school in my school district who tried to nonviolently defend another kid who was being bullied and the bullies started beating him up, they even picked him up by the shirt and slammed him into the ground, but when he defended himself, he got expelled and arrested and he's being charged with a felony. It's insane

Well high school is more significant now. Because it’s a lot harder to be successful without a degree now than before. I’m a high schooler and people I know who are older and didn’t graduate and they were able to do things that I know I couldn’t do now.

This gave me some relief because I’ve been stressing about grades and shit in school and this made me feel better about it lol
I think it’s a lack of community support for some of these people that commit these atrocious school shootings. Like you can tell some people just aren’t in tune with reality and need to be watched a little closer.
The first thing that needs to change is to make it illegal for media channels and sites to show the images of the shooters because it is giving them public attention. Second, I wonder how many students would have been killed if that teacher didn't step in and stop him, just shows that the schools need protection or else they have a much higher chance of ending up in double digits.
Yeah, showing the image like Ethan just did, sadly.
Turtle Munchies Agreed I don't think anyone can disagree with this and I think letting teachers be able to carry on the job would help contribute to the protection of schools.
Freedom of speech/press?
That wouldn't work sadly, the websites would take the gamble and just post his picture for more publicity. Because nobody else does it, definately one company will feel the need to post an article with images of the shooter.
The 1A shouldn't be touched just as much as the 2A. Those are the main two rights that ensure that the people remain free, the 2A protects the 1A, the Bill Of Rights is sacred.
The media needs to start self-censoring, but we all know they won't do that because they love school shootings as it gets them views and they are able to push their anti-gun agenda.

I’m currently a 15 year old and going to school everyday isn’t the hardest thing, but lately it’s terrifying knowing I might never see the sun rise again. Sometimes i think I would escape or what I would do if a shooting came to my school. It’s horrific thinking a person I know could kill or be killed.
The reason people are so passionate about guns and the right to bear arms is because essentially it's the right to defend your self from any entity, and history shows us that when ever a government seizes control of the fire arms of a population some from of despotism then ensues. School shootings are the result of individual decisions that led up to some one feeling like they should shoot up a school. From breaking down the similar aspects of the life in which people who commit these school shootings live, we can attempt to find out how to prevent these things. What's common among school shooters well one being a social outcast, having little to no friends to communicate with means that your not being influenced by the world so you keep some of your misconceptions ignorance and faults. Experience in social situations sort of exfoliates what others around you consider undesirable from the surface of your personality. Not to mention we are social and we need some social interaction to properly develop especially when we are young. So as a parent I would make sure your kid is very well socialized, read and can speak well I would teach my child or sibling martial arts so that they could defend themselves without weapons and so they could respect them selves more because they know they are already capable. Also I would give my child or sibling a lesson on a little philosophy about good and evil aswell as chaos and order. Actually talk to them about how to handle bullys and negativity they receive from other people. Mental illness is also common among school shooters. Solving the problem of mental illness obviously extremely difficult likely impossible. Diet, genetics, vaccines, fluoride and other chemicals in hard water, iodine deficiency, air quality, prenatal substance abuse conditions, radiation possibly all these things and more should be looked into.
I can already understand the brooding hateful emotions of resent at existence and all that is ideal innocent or aesthetic. But the conditions that are common among them all are most important to note and try to find practically applicable solutions for. If your are a parent or big brother or big cousin it's your duty to help your young people prosper. Once we all sort of get are shit together and spiritually evolve to a greater level then school shootings will drop. Evil will always exist though I am convinced of that.
Exactly! The problem is the media, they're sensationalizing Crime, and it makes me sick.
School shootings will never stop. There was one perpetrated by one Elliot Rodger - "The Supreme Gentleman" if one looks into it they would likely find that while there are many points in which the shooting could theoretically be stopped, there will always be people who feel that society is against them. They will always feel alone and hopeless; whatever friends they have will only delay the inevitable. It's important to note that actual loneliness - the time one spends amoungst no others- is not as catastrophic as perceived loneliness- when that person feels that they have no one.
"And history shows us that when ever a government seizes control of the fire arms of a population some from of despotism then ensues."
What kind of history are you looking at? Welcome to Europe, Australia etc. The continents of despotism.

Ridicule is not utilized enough. We need fewer reports on the people and how tragic the situation is, and more people calling them weebs. If these people are going for a legacy of infamy, we must deny it to them, and replace it with a legacy of ridicule. Props to Ethan for understanding this.

People need to be taught that growing up happens inside as well as outside. That the adult mindset is totally different and that transitioning from the child to the adult is a stressful and miserable event. Kids are not taught this anywhere at the moment and I think they just think "this misery is what life is and that's it". Emerging adulthood is a stage in your development which ends between 25 and 29 and then everything settles down.
