Brad Churchey Not at all, journalists exist to relay the news to you, without talking to people involved how can accurate information be translated to the public? Ethically there is a balance to be struck between accurate reporting the need for the public to have the information and the delicacy of the situation you are reporting on, honestly the job is emotionally and physically draining and low paid and you get shit on by the people who don’t realise quite hw important the job is - all because you love the job and want to tell the stories of real people and real situations, and yes you do get some bad apples but this is like any profession

You hear people getting acid thrown in their faces or something on a daily basis on london and you keep your job and dont deteriorate in work quality, its because you are a sociopath, and as a sociopath, you know how to exploit people and do not give a fuck while doing so if it makes you big bucks, and this is not an exaggeration in the slightest. Which is also why most therapists suck at their job, because who wants to hear about x y z graphic issues daily for 8 hours a day, you would fucking need therapy as well, most people quit their job if they even give a fuck about people to begin with. And the ones that don't enable it for more money for more clients, usually preferably easier clients. People are lazy, greedy, and selfish. And if they arent those things in these kinds of jobs and keep the job they are fucking crazy or pill popping. No lie at all.

School shootings get the exact same coverage here in Canada as they do in the states and you don’t see them happening here. To say that the media coverage is the main contributing factor to school shootings like Ethan was suggesting is naive. While I agree that the media should cover theses shootings the Phillip De Franco way (don’t say their name and don’t show their picture) I think it’s still important to talk about their situation so that we can understand how we should be stopping this.

Couple years later he protected all of the kids and got to fulfill his promise. At Noblesville we are having our finals not count if they hurt our grade because of the kids who have been traumatized or hurt by the experience. If it wasn’t for Mr. Seaman there would’ve been many more deaths and injuries but not many people know because they don’t care about the hero’s and only the villains. The media needs to focus on Hero’s like him and not the actual event or the shooters

I almost killed myself so many times in high school because of the insane amount of stress, especially when you have strict parents who are disappointed in you for getting B's and scream at you for getting C's (not even talking about overall grade at end of semester). The expectations for you are absolutely the most crushing thing. It feels like you have no room to choose your own future.

There's so much that can be done.
    -Armed Security
-Better Mental Health Research/ and Treatment
-Better background checks for people who purchase firearms
-Parents need to do a better job at raising their kids
-Law Enforcement taking action when they are alerted on someone who is potentially dangerous (and it's sad I have to say that, but the Florida shooting could have been prevented if law enforcement had acted because they knew well enough about the suspect.)
And one thing that is important. Don't give shootings wide spread coverage. Do you know why there's been more then one shooting recently? I would assume a contributor is the news coverage and having mentally ill copy cats wanting to replicate what they've seen all over the news.
There's so many people who are mentally ill today. And it's not even just school shooters. I've met sketchy people. I'm sure anybody reading this has met sketchy people. Yeah, they're not school shooters, but they're clearly mentally ill.
Society also contributes to mental health. When people are young, the part of their brain that relates to emotions is very active. Society today has obviously changed to what it was 10, 20, 30 years ago. Something is causing young people to let their emotions get the best of them and become mentally ill.

First off, how do you know for a fact that these guys are copy cats? There hasn't even been a study proving this, so you don't know that. But one thing we ALL know is that if people arent informed about this shit, they'll never see it coming, or, at the very least, won't be prepared for it, won't take action to try to prevent this from happening so much (and please for the love of all that is fucking holy, don't say, "Oh, but you can't prevent school shootings" or "you can't prevent these massacres from happening," when YES, WE CAN). I think parents and adults need to stop saying "this will be the best part of your entire life make the most of it" every adult I encounted- my parents, their friends random bus drivers, random grandmas etc.
During high school I have anxiety and depression, it was the worst during school & high school because of all the pressure and I was so unhappy every time some one said that I just wanted to die. The year after high school I was so numb, I felt broken i started a mind numbing job and drifted for a year, I felt like I didn't deserve a future because I failed my last year of school. Then I decided to study, i didn't think I'd get in, I did, I moved out studied hard now I have a part time job in my field and I'm looking for a second job and I feel like I can cope with a lot of the shit I've been put through. In a way I feel like because I had no support from my parents, teachers etc. I am able to handle nearly anything by myself but it so nearly went the other way, sometimes I'm shocked I survived and didn't succeed in ending my life. Life sucks but it's all about attitude. Sometimes we're born without the ability to see the light at the end of the tunnel it's awful, it sucks, it's sad. It doesn't excuse hurting others. Adults need to step the FUCK up. Kids need guidance. Kids need support, help and love. They need outlets like mentioned in the clip, and they need to be cut some slack. Kicking a kid out for fighting that's like labeling a kid a failour before thier life has even started. I dunno why I've rambled on but I will post this in case any kids out there read it. Life gets better, work hard, know your limits but don't be afraid to push yourself, if you don't like it change it, take every oportunity and try new things. The biggest waste of life is regret.

One of the reasons teachers work students so hard in America is because they have a merit pay system for teachers. Teachers can make more money if their students have higher grades and as a result they push tons of homework onto their students. I honestly think a major part of it is the flawed school system like you guys mentioned. I graduated high school about a year ago and I hated it so much despite the fact that I went to a nicer "artsy" high school. I couldn't imagine having to go to a normal high school. During my senior year, I'd occasionally have fleeting thoughts about shooting it up, and of course I'D never act on these notions, it's just high school can get you in this very destructive mindset. Luckily for me, I was never bullied or anything like that, but if I had quick little thoughts about shooting up my school, I'm sure someone who has endured more mental anguish would actually consider it. Now after having graduated high school, I realize how much of it doesn't matter at all. It is a temporary prison, but it definitely should never feel that way. It is my personal opinion that the United States looks to the nordic countries such as Norway, Sweden, etc as examples for reforming the school system here, because not only do kids actually learn more, but it comes off as a much healtier environment.

They don't get breaks except when travelling from one cram school to another, and they usually end at midnight. Their suicide problem stems directly from all this work and the possibility of not meeting their parents' expectations. I'm glad that we switched the blame from the gun itself to the parents. I grew up around guns my whole life, that being said I never had easy access until my father was sure I was competent and responsible (which wasn't until I was 18 anyway and could purchase long guns on my own. But not only did I not have access, but I was also raised in such a way that I would never have even considered trying to steal one for ANY reason let alone killing people. The true blame lies with the parents, as with almost every single case of a child committing a crime. It's about how we are raised and how our parents deal with things like guns. I hold my guns, and my right to defend myself very dearly and I'm very happy to see that we are starting to consider as a society that the guns are not the primary problem.

You have a lot more freedom, and if you dont like someone, you'll only see them in class for 15 weeks and then its over. Its not a nine month school year ordeal. It does get better. i live in Australia, the school that i attend has a room with youth carers that you can visit anytime during school hours if your feeling angry, depressed suicidal etc and it has helped many of my friends that suffer from mental illness or bullies which i believe has really has saved a lot of lives plus if you don't want to talk about your feelings with them yet then you can chose not to. plus in Australia guns are illegal you can get a gun license if you really want to own a gun but the vast majority of the country doesn't have guns which prevents kids from obtaining firearms from their parents. the only sort of bullying here is verbal and still as long as you can make a come back to a "Roast" or just brush things off and keep calm then your fine.
i personally believe that to stop school shootings we should, stop the media from glorifying school shooters, just make your gun laws stricter just lower the accessibility of guns to people who shouldn't have them and allow teens _especially_ to have a place where they can express their emotions and be taught that really, *high school doesn't matter* and life * i believe that this will help the drastically help save lives, but i'm just an outsider giving my thought on this topic if you have any constructive criticism i will be more than happy learn and consider and discuss any thoughts.

The issue with gun control is that it believes if you continue to place more restrictions, you'll stop criminals, not the law abiding citizenry who are not ever going to commit atrocities. California is the state with the most strict gun control in the entire nation and also coincidentally one of the highest when it comes to gun violence. Chicago being the single deadliest city in the US aside from NYC. This strict gun control includes long waiting period, many ammo restrictions, "assault weapon" bans, magazine capacity restrictions alongside many other smaller amounts of red tape.
I do agree with the part about the media however, but we need to seriously reconsider what the hell is going on with young boys when this is becoming a common occurrence. Something has deeply changed within the last 30 years, and guns only becoming more restricted with over-all gun violence on a steady decrease doesn't make it the reason for them.

The first thing that needs to change is to make it illegal for media channels and sites to show the images of the shooters because it is giving them public attention. Second, I wonder how many students would have been killed if that teacher didn't step in and stop him, just shows that the schools need protection or else they have a much higher chance of ending up in double digits.

The media needs to start self-censoring, but we all know they won't do that because they love school shootings as it gets them views and they are able to push their anti-gun agenda.

The reason people are so passionate about guns and the right to bear arms is because essentially it's the right to defend your self from any entity, and history shows us that when ever a government seizes control of the fire arms of a population some from of despotism then ensues. School shootings are the result of individual decisions that led up to some one feeling like they should shoot up a school. From breaking down the similar aspects of the life in which people who commit these school shootings live, we can attempt to find out how to prevent these things. What's common among school shooters well one being a social outcast, having little to no friends to communicate with means that your not being influenced by the world so you keep some of your misconceptions ignorance and faults. Experience in social situations sort of exfoliates what others around you consider undesirable from the surface of your personality. Not to mention we are social and we need some social interaction to properly develop especially when we are young. So as a parent I would make sure your kid is very well socialized, read and can speak well I would teach my child or sibling martial arts so that they could defend themselves without weapons and so they could respect them selves more because they know they are already capable. Also I would give my child or sibling a lesson on a little philosophy about good and evil aswell as chaos and order. Actually talk to them about how to handle bullys and negativity they receive from other people. Mental illness is also common among school shooters. Solving the problem of mental illness obviously extremely difficult likely impossible. Diet, genetics, vaccines, fluoride and other chemicals in hard water, iodine deficiency, air quality, prenatal substance abuse conditions, radiation possibly all these things and more should be looked into.
I can already understand the brooding hateful emotions of resent at existence and all that is ideal innocent or aesthetic. But the conditions that are common among them all are most important to note and try to find practically applicable solutions for. If your are a parent or big brother or big cousin it's your duty to help your young people prosper. Once we all sort of get are shit together and spiritually evolve to a greater level then school shootings will drop. Evil will always exist though I am convinced of that.

School shootings will never stop. There was one perpetrated by one Elliot Rodger - "The Supreme Gentleman" if one looks into it they would likely find that while there are many points in which the shooting could theoretically be stopped, there will always be people who feel that society is against them. They will always feel alone and hopeless; whatever friends they have will only delay the inevitable. It's important to note that actual loneliness - the time one spends amoungst no others- is not as catastrophic as perceived loneliness- when that person feels that they have no one.

People need to be taught that growing up happens inside as well as outside. That the adult mindset is totally different and that transitioning from the child to the adult is a stressful and miserable event. Kids are not taught this anywhere at the moment and I think they just think "this misery is what life is and that's it". Emerging adulthood is a stage in your development which ends between 25 and 29 and then everything settles down.

High School really just is a weird part of your life. It's like after High School you start a new life and you look back and start to analyse your life. It's crazy to think about how the world today works with everyone connected. Instagram boosting the pressure on looking good, having a perfect life, no flaws...
Everyone has Smartphones, everone know what everyone is doing anytime. Snapchat, Whatsapp, Facebook... I could NEVER image how it feels to have this technology in my High School time. It will probably feel like heaven and hell at the same time, god damn !
