    Excellent informative presentation. Could not determine why the the pool would not turn off and viewing this presentation solved the mystery. Have ordered a new T104 switch. Thank you.

    I really appreciated your video, learned how it works, and found the same issue with the worn out part. I have replaced the Intermatic timer with a digital timer for $12.

    You CAN fix this problem (and without replacement parts).
    If your lever switch looks worn (as in the video - and it was on mine), notice that the wear is only on the 'front side' (toward the camera). The little protrusion of the 'ON' pin is 'slipping off' the front of the lever switch.
    Take the 'ON' pin, and identify the leg with the special protrusion. Now take that leg (and ONLY that leg) and bend it 'down' (away from the thumb screw) about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Now the protrusion will extend far enough to engage what is 'left of' the lever switch (don't bend it too far or it will also hit the gears). Note: If you aren't comfortable making 'warranty-voiding modifications', don't do this.
    The bent pin worked for me. It took two minutes, and the timer should last a few more years...

      Thank you thank you!!! It worked for me too. I was going out of town, had bought a new "pin" thinking that was the issue, no go. Thought about just leaving the pool pump on for 24/7, but $$. This worked like a charm!

    That was a great video! Now I understand why my pool pump turns OFF after like 10mins ‘coz of that worn out metal...

    • @jessenelson9768
      @jessenelson9768 Před rokem

      This doesn’t explain why your pool timer would turn off at all.. unless if you are saying you manually turned the switch “on” at what would be 10 minutes before your off timer was set. This video explains why one of your pins (in this case, the on pin) would not be able to engage the switch because the lever mechanism that the pin touches is no longer there…

    T101 10 years, and now worn out. Looked at a lot of fix videos, but this is the only one I found with the right diagnosis. I like how it abruptly ends - basically saying, get a new timer. Are the newer models designed differently to prevent this?

    • @fly4fun24

      It could be in your case, the other end is bad, in my case, the lever upper side is bad, yours could be the lower side,. If none of that, check the 2 little triggers ,

      I think he is explaining why the timer switch is not working! Other videos show the other common problems. Some people would like to understand the problem. Some things can be fixed and some times they can't. Now you know!

    • @jessenelson9768
      @jessenelson9768 Před rokem +2

      Lol this video is ironically provided to prevent the possible waste of time. Some people are spending money and time troubleshooting and replacing pins when the issue does not reside with the pins.. it’s the part the pins interact with.. would you rather the video just say “replace your timer?” … I’d be curious what your comment would be on a video that does only that
