    Of the picks I own the jimylongs are surely the best ones as far as strength and comfort... can't wait for more designs to come.
    After that it's my multipick locknoob set
    And my Echelon + Genesis combo set.
    Next on my list is either LLT or Bare Bones sets, not sure yet...
    Echelon came w the $3 rfid card sooo obviously I gotta order a $180 flipperzero for that later today, lolol...
    Those things are my next 3 purchases...

      Shit... I can't lie and act like I don't love my sparrows picks too... my most complete set.... and I gotta say I still love using them as much as the others sometimes...
      That's why I keep buying different sets cause for me at least, sometimes I just can't pop a lock w a jimy Longs or a multipick and sparrows has such unique picks a different sizes that'll get in when others cant... for me at least...

    Still LLTs! Generally still prefer the feedback from metal handles and prefer their handle to the smaller multipick/CI size. Plus Tipene's profiles and the range of thicknesses, from heavy metal to the ronin picks. Best ToK tensioners are multipick Christina Palmer collection and the champion series. Best BoK is LLTs. Second, but i love them in so many ways, Moki, the finish is unbelievable, the extra pick in the handle genius, the interchangeable decals are such a great design choice, i hope that more thicknesses become available. Sidenote, i wish the Moki case was about double the capacity.
    Third multipick, crazy range, the quality control superb. The cases, the tensioners.
    I've got to try some Jimmy Long's! I think there Gem profiles should be called "Gemmy Long's".
    The catchphrase...does the Marvel Character "The Collector" have a catchphrase? Corny maybe, "Collecting picks, sharing the feels, connecting peeps/people"...hey I'm middle aged and corny, there are worse things 😅

I suffer from big hands and and very stiff joints and this industry doesn't cater to us larger types. I love my covert Echelon set and my Southford tools but as nice as those sets are, small is an issue. and your the first who's shown and labeled these other wonderful larger sets. Law locks and Jimmy Longs are looking mighty nice. Thanks again, and big respect for your straight forward honesty.

But the Jimy picks feel so much better in my massive hands. I also have a really cheap set I got on Amazon years ago (brass), and I got no where with them. Great list of pick sets. I think we locksporters are starting to get spoilt for choice now and I see the demise of petersen and sparrows as the go to places to get gear. I go for the Bare Bones and Law Lock Tools. For me it's all about handles and Bare Bones created handles for all my Law Lock Tools so I can now use them. I have tried jimmy longs however on paracentric keyways and keyways where you have to pick off of a warding I find the shank either overlifts the front pins or the pick shaft gets stuck in the lock. Therefore I would like to see them just a bit longer to allow for six and up pin locks. cheers

  • @hgec
    @hgec Před 6 měsíci

    I have Jimmy Longs lockpicks, and they are very good and strong with a great handle design that I like and a great price. But as far as I'm concerned, they don't fit the locks I pick. Why? Because of the shape of the tool, if you try to pick a tight European cylinder that can even have six or seven pins, you will either get stuck completely or have to push it in a way that will likely overset pins. I would be happy if you could tell me if this is also true for mokie pick or multipick, which I was thinking of trying in the future.

    • @sandman_locksport
      @sandman_locksport  Před 6 měsíci

      I use jimy longs every day, I never have that issue. but for european cylinders, i would recommend .015" peterson gem hooks, due to them having tighter keyways, and paracentric keyways, and crazy bitings. its not the pick that is at fault, it is your selection of picks for the locks your picking. right tool for the job. one pick will not open all locks.

    Law lock Tools absolutely demolishes every one of these options and it’s not even a debate.

    • @sandman_locksport
      @sandman_locksport  Před 2 měsíci +1

      it is definitely debatable as there are 6 other manufacturers that use the exact same tool steel. Comfort and profile selection is subjective. Tool steel is objective. Therefore it is debatable.

    • @dwightshrute5319
      @dwightshrute5319 Před 2 měsíci

      @@sandman_locksport okay, while if that is true and each one of the 6 manufacturers are buying the same steel stock you still have these problems for the others…
      1.) Pick feedback- the handles aren’t full pieces of steel, aluminum or covered with rubber or epoxy which takes away from the amount of feedback that you feel when using Laws tools.
      2.) Angles- I’m not only referring to the perfect handle angle that provides excellent leverage in hand but also of each of the individual picks profile at tip. They have a perfect assortment to defeat anything under the sun and their options blow the others away.

    • @sandman_locksport
      @sandman_locksport  Před 2 měsíci

      @@dwightshrute5319 LLT definitely has great profiles. But feedback in the handle is subjective as 9 out of 10 black belt pickers in a recent survey said they feel feed back in the pick shank and in the turning tool, not the handle. So that is subjective as well, even though the data I have collected supports otherwise. LLT is Tier 1, but the #1 spot is completely subjective. Just buy what you like. I have 50 pick sets, and 16 years of experience, and 110 videos reviewing them. I know what I’m talking about.
