@@Jack_lee75 what pisses me off so much is that while Lugi’s big house 3 is a fantastic game with so much charm and care put into it, you have shit like swsh that beat it in sales by 6 places. A half assed game pumped out to fulfill merchandise release dates. Outsold a game with actual soul. This makes me concerned except for the fact that Next Level Game was bought by Nintendo which is what ended their asshole streak. If only by a bit.

Alax made convincing argument about Strikers without even mentioning the gameplay. That's how special this game is.
It was so much fun to play but it could have been a movie and I still would have been invested.

One VERY big thing not mentioned in this video is a feature that me and a friend realised about the game. Leading players on the team (Mario, Peach, Luigi etc) will occasionally ask for the ball. As a bit of character building, my friend who always plays as Wario noticed that he asks for the ball about 5 times as often, which is SO in character for him it's incredible.
Wario CONSTANTLY shouts "GIMMIE THE BALL!" "I'M OPEN!" "PASS TO ME!" and it's so funny. He even does it in situations that aren't good for the team, man just wants to be the star player who hogs the spotlight.

This game was a big part of my childhood and brought back incredible memories, so thanks for that. I always played with Daisy cuz I loved her no bs punk rock girl style, Luigi for that IMMENSENLY fitting flamenco music and gentleman persona, and Wario cuz jesus christ his animations are by far the funniest

Haven't played Luigi's Mansion 3, so I really need to know where it is.
It's in the cinema floor of the hotel. At one point you go through a hall with some of Next Level Games' games in display as posters.
What is exciting about a potential new Mario strikers is that it won’t be disappointing. The other sport games get some low points and get lazy, even Tennis Aces, while good, was just kind of forgettable, but Next Level Games never really get lazy. I think
In Luigis Mansion: Dark Moon, theres a scene where you go into an elevator. (right before the first boss) The elevator music sounds similar to the pause screen music of Mario Strikers Charged.
It’s so strange to me that Nintendo have made SO many Mario Tennis games every few years and are even going to release a Mario Golf game soon, but they haven’t made a Mario Strikers game in SO long, even though it was the sports game that probably has the most personality! I really hope that Next-Level games gets to make a new Strikers game in the future!

...it just made me say "I wish those were soccer instead" and I didn't/don't care about either. Not like I'm a huge soccer stan, but I had Mario Strikers on the Gamecube and I would buy it for nostalgia alone, not to mention the badassery it contained.

Super Mario Strikers Charged is set in like, an apocalyptic wasteland. That's unironically such a cool setting for a Mario game, and tbh I would love to play a Mario 3D platformer set in the strikers universe. I just think that could be super fun.

I think I know the biggest problem with Battle League. Notice how the camera is more zoomed out from the previous games, yet the character models are relatively the same size. Thats because the court is smaller and less impactful. There's no variety on the actual stage, no potential hazards to avoid, and the actual map feels so much smaller. In Charged, the court almost never took up the whole screen, it felt large and in charge(pun intended) with a bunch of different races in the crowd. Now, its just the standard fare on a smaller, plainer stage. talk about disappointing.
Also the gameplay is way slower unlike Charged
This may be an overused statement, but Mario Strikers just hits different

Now that it's finally happened I can only dream that Battle League will have HALF the charm and detail this game had. It's such an incredibly high bar to pass they really did knock it out of the park with Charged.
I play soccer/football at a semi professional level here, and I love this game so much that every time I score I bring out a celebration directly from this game, especially Waluigi's and Petey's ones. My teammates don't get the reference, but they like the sassyness behind the Crotch Chop and the Petey walk.

If this roster was super expanded like the baseball game on Wii I’d be all for it. But that’d be too much work for all the extra music, voices, and animations probably. But Next Level would absolutely be the studio to do it. We already know they take their sweet time like first party Nintendo and Square Enix

The people at Next Level Games are wizards when it comes to animating. Mario Strikers, Punch-Out, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and 3, all of them have amazing animation for their systems.
Next idea: Mario Backstreet. It's a JSR-style Mario spinoff. All the characters are made similarly to Strikers and have to do skateboard tricks in a huge cel-shaded world.

This game fooled me into thinking that sports in real life was this interesting. Then I got stuck watching a game where two teams kicked a ball up and down the field, act like a light brush destroyed their leg and eventually tying after 3 hours.

Hopefully now that Nintendo has full ownership of NLG, this series can make a grand return. This game is amazing and deserves it more than any Mario spinoff.

Mario Strikers Charged, on the other hand, aged pretty well. It's a shame that the Strikers series is pretty much dead now with its latest entry, Battle League, that couldn't even match the quality of its predecessor that released 15 years ago.
