Am I the only person that actually likes the look of the notch? It gives the machine a little personality, hard to explain. Distinction than your run-of-the-mill generic laptop.

Great idea, Brighten Day! Best of luck with your content creation. I would highly recommend getting as much RAM as you can afford and then the 512GB storage or above. Probably 1TB is a good long-term option for video creation so you can have a couple of projects on the go and then archive finished projects and assets onto external storage. I would also say go with the 8CPU/8GPU config to keep your price down a bit to pay for the RAM. Just my 2 cents. Aloha.
Great color, i do like it! Looks similar in effect to my prior black surface laptop2. Definitely a print magnet but could always get a clear cover for it. Since I've already had the pleasure of a nice dark laptop I'd go for the Starlight with this one. I currently sport an M1 Air (space gray)- i don't think i need the upgrade just yet. Thank you for the unboxing - always fun!

They're not permanent. Wipe off in seconds. It's a laptop, not an ornament.
@@jaypalmer3806 That's not the point. It would be constantly having to look at grimy-ass fingerprints everywhere. Constantly wiping it off. It's a premium machine, not a budget laptop. You say it's not an ornament, but eh, it's a MacBook - kind of the ornament of the tech world... people do buy it for aesthetic reasons, even if those reasons aren't the primary ones.
"Wipe it off in seconds," yeah, but it'd be all. The. Time, though. That would get annoying, fast. Or we could just get any other color that doesn't get visibly covered in human grease all the time. You know?

You can put a clear case on it and it’ll solve the issue! I got silver though because I heard the colour fades on the palm rest with darker MacBooks

the power button has touch id in the M1 model as well. they should have face id instead. would be great to just touch any key or the track pad to unlock.

What were the specs on the M2 tested? Toying with the idea but don’t know if the 8GB ram will be a problem a year or so down the line.

I’m a student that doesn’t use any photo editing apps or stuff like that. I just web browse and watch movies on CZcams and Netflix. Which do you guys think is better for me? Is the display and screen upgrade significant to be worth the extra $200? Is m2 faster for web browsing?

There are anti-fingerprint coatings made for glass surfaces. I wonder if they are safe for use on colored aluminum surfaces too.

I have a Space gray one ordered. Got a Space Gray one, It will be replacing my 2017 Space Gray Macbook 12 (base model). Needless to say, this is going to be a MEGA-upgrade compared to what I currently have.
I need help. I’m looking for a laptop that could 100% handle simple video editing (currently use iMovie on a 2013 MacBook Air) but also now I can play some games on…Xbox or like PKMN Go online tcg. What do you recommend? Each video I download is between 4-12GB plus whatever I clip

Can the MacBook handle long zoom calls (overheat, throttle, bad battery life) ? I haven't been able to find reviews that can answer this question. Thanks!

I agree that the colour is beautiful, but other than that now its got MagSafe, the notch display and the M2 chip. Won’t classify this as the “regular” upgrade…
Same! The wonky downside is that the color doesn’t allow for the laptop to be touched without becoming a disgusting mess. Hell of a downside. 😖
