I got the Midnight M2 air base model too. Love it as I only had Windows laptops prior to this.
Had bought M1's a year and a half ago for my daughters for college and home use. Both love them, and their gold color looks sick.

Great video! Honestly I always had those medium range windows laptops đand this is a big change for me...everything is soo much better and im loving the macOS đIn my opinion the speakers on the device are great the sound is clear and full enough for watching movies and videos without that being un issue.

Actually a really good laptop. I really only noticed a very slight difference from when you switched from yours to the MacBooks mic, which shows how good MacBooks mics are.

I am seriously considering getting this as a long overdue upgrade to my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro which, has served me well for more than a decade now. I'll keep watching your videos until I am fully convinced that this M2 Air is really worth it.

I still have the M1 MacBook Air, and a year later it still performs well. But I'm so glad the M2 does better in every single way.

Very nice review. i love this Macbookair new version ! it seems the design is like "pro one". slimmer and easy to carry.
Actually love the design, it makes the device dust proof and safe from liquid splashes. Kinda offers protection for the internals since there's no much opening for external objects to get in.
Keep convincing yourself. The speakers suck. They need openings like the last design
I viewed the midnight in person and noticed bc of its dark almost black colour, fingerprints and dust is more visible

"liquid Splash" I think logic and common sense should kick in there, anyone that spills liquid on their laptop are just clumsy.

Since you are used to using a 14â M1 Pro, how does the battery life compare to new M2 Air? Iâm going back and forth between the base model 14â M1 Pro and a speced up M2 Air.

My wife picked up a 15 inch galaxy book pro 2 and it weighs even a little less than the air. Blew my mind picking it up compared to my old xps. Hard wrapping my head around so much power in something around less than 4x the weight of my phone.

I got the midnight 512 , replacing the 2017 15in Mac Pro. I love it for my use now that I donât need the pro. Will wait for the rumored 15 in Mac air . But very satisfied. Thanks for the widget summary!

Hey Ella would you recommend buying the m2 over the 14 inch MacBook Pro after upgrading to 16gb of ram and 512 ssd on the m2 air it comes out to $1700 or should I just spend the extra $200 to $300 for the 14 inch MacBook Pro

Great video, I have the 2016 Mac Book Pro which is still working just fine. I plan on upgrading but the speaker issue and sound is important to me plus more ports and having fans. I'll probably purchase the Pro model, thank you!

While I had been using an Alienware computer for the past 2-3 years, I've been wanting to get back on a MacBook. Just last week I started watching reviews on the new M2 silicone chips in the MacBook Pro's and the MacBook Air models. Yesterday, I landed a HUGE deal on a brand new Mac Air M2 w/16GB RAM, and the 256GB SSD for $699 + 7% tax (*Total $748.00) at a local pawn shop. The charger, paperwork, and laptop was never used... so far I am extremely happy with the new Mac line-up and will likely never return to Intel processors...and BTW; your videos are awesome! Thanks for all your knowledge and shared insights!

Great video, I agree it's seems like a casual laptop for people aren't going over the top. Question though what laptop would you recommend for someone who wants to play games on it from time to time but not super into gaming/ everyday gaming but the laptop can still handle some games on the side. Hopefully this makes sense.
I went for the 10 core, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD in midnight blue. Kinda wish I'd gone for silver but it's not a big deal. Thanks for this succinct review.

I would go for the 14-inch M1 Pro. The costs between them are almost the same.

@@CreatedbyEllaYT with the midnight version the ports area's skin will come off in the edges of the ports. Just few plug in & removes the skin will peel off.

Nice video! Great to see someone not going on and on and on about slow storage on the base model, yes itâs annoying but most people who buy the base will be more than happy and wonât even notice it. People LOVE to find something to complain about. I did order the midnight, fingerprints donât bother me but Iâve seen lots of videos where the paint is already chipping off around the Thunderbolt ports! Changed to space grey.

As someone with an M1 Pro, do you think there's any reason at all to 'upgrade' to an M2 Air? I've seen the resale values drop big time on the M1 Pro's and if I decide to trade it in, it's probably better sooner than later.
i upgraded from my M1 pro to the M2 air and highly reccomend! i'm loving it more than my pro. there's not any significant differences, but the speed on the M2 is better compared to the pro.

What's your observation about over-heating issues and performance ?

It's shameful that in 2022 this laptop starts at 1199 USD for 8GB RAM/256GB storage. Then you have to pay 200 extra for 512GB storage and another 200 for 16GB RAM. My 2 cents.
The base model, especially with the single chip storage is definitely a bad value imo, particularly if you compare it to the old M1 air that you can get $350+ cheaper
shameful how? with tech parts shortages and inflation... coupled with Apple greed (they are filthy rich for a reason), I don't find it surprising.

I mean 8gb on mac is like 12gb on windows. U also realize dell was charging about 1100 to 1200 for an i3 8gb ram xps 13 last year so idk why ur complaining. They are charging $1300 for an i5 8gb xps 13 plus this year too. Same goes for the lg gram 14 which comes with an i5 and 8gb ram for around a $1250 too. So don't act like apple is the only one doing this. Some companies are an even worse deal.
