- Life right now is a blur, a strange and confusing haze where all days blend into one long day. Most of us find ourselves confined to our homes. For us, here in South Africa, we’re in the middle of a 5-week lock down period. This means that we haven’t been able to get out there to work on any new films. But we didn’t want that to stop us from sharing stories with you. Rather, we felt that now more than ever, these stories were needed to lift spirits and allow hearts to soar. But we needed to find a creative way to do that…
We realised that, having produced over 150 stories so far, we had access to so much that we haven’t yet shared with you. We use only a small portion of the footage captured, to make each film. So we dug back into our archives, and we’ve pulled out some beautiful new content and combined stories together to produce something slightly different. We’ll be creating a mini-series of films, each of which will explore a theme related to an aspect of our shared humanity.
This is the first film in this series… What Is Unconditional Love?

I am seventy-three, live on a farm and have been mostly alone except evenings and weekends when my husband is here. So six years ago I went to the county shelter and got Miss Ella, the perfect dog. Such a loving girl that I got a second one, a border collie who had been abused. She is my heart. Then I got her some sheep and she herded them. Later I got two Great Pyrenees livestock protectors and have never lost anything to a predator. But other than that they love everybody. Recently got two more Pyrenees pups. Took one out to the pasture to get a feel for the sheep. I had a sickly lamb at the time. This new puppy went to the alfalfa bale, got a huge mouthful, placed it in front of the lamb and just stayed there beside that little lamb. I don't know that I would have made it mentally through this pandemic but for these lovely dogs.

We like you love our dogs, they have taught us so much about unconditional love. Especially through Covid I don't think we could have stayed on our little off grid home on on the tip of Africa without them.

Dear Carolyn I feel absolutly the same. I fèel so inspired and it gives back hope and positive believings. Lately the TV is seldom turned on instead I watch These Films or listen to relaxing music. It is frightening finding out how obvious we are stuffed with dark thoughts and energy by watching TV, loosing hope and trust. Thanks to the GR Team for giving positivity back with your Films.

Amen. Animals are waayyy better than humans. I have zero family so my 4 dogs and 1 cat are my everything. I love them so much. They are the only friendship and love that I have. Thank God for animals.

This is my favorite video on this whole channel and I love them all. I love dogs so much. Their souls are so pure. My dog Louis is truly an angel and a blessing in my life. I currently have 4 rescue dogs, all different ages - two old, one mid-life, one much younger. Each teaches me love in different ways: being content with presence, wanting (demanding) touch when it's wanted and how giddy it makes them, that there is no such thing as too happy, too much joy, and how to greet the ones you love each and every time you see the again - with a joyful heart, hugs, kisses, fully excited and act as if I have been gone for years, finally returning! They teach me that so much is said without words, my energy or my actions either bring them close, or send them off to an out of the way spot. They comfort me, they kiss my happy and sad tears away, they actually run to me when I begin to cry - they don't run away, go play, and ignore me. They smile. They smile sooooooo much! They look so happy, in the moment, in each moment, and with me. They are excited to go for walks. They lie in the sun - sometimes bellies up, just allowing the sun to warm them ad bathe them ever so gently. The keep the vermin away, chasing them off from our yard, setting firm boundaries about how's allowed in our circle. They roll in the grass like little children - forever young, and don't care that they bring it in the house and shake it all over the floor, nor that they get the floors full of dirty paw prints. They appreciate a warm blanket, a freshly washed and comfortable dog bed - preferably wherever I am. They are content to sleep, so long as we are in the same room together. And, they remind me I stay up too late!

No Matter what happens around me, the soonest I see a dog I smile and feel easy and peaceful , nothing else matters, just enjoying silence, our connection and the peace around us. I just adopted my 3 legs indian dog from a animalshelter. I have already 2 dogs, and I did not want another dog. But it was love from both sides. In this troubled time they keep me going, laughing, talking,playing. They know me better than I know myself.

I got my dog last year and I nearly gave him away as I couldn’t cope with the responsibility. I have never cried so much in my life, he opened my heart like never before. I love him so much and so grateful that I kept him. He chose me ❤❤❤

Animals have always taught me about love when it did not exist in the world or from family ♥️🐾 I owe my life to them
They really show us unconditional love - we would be so lost without them. We have 4 rescue dogs and 2 cats and they are our family.
A three legged dog named Tripod - I had to smile.
I do have other people in my life, a wife of 47 years, 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren. Family takes precedence, but my dog is close to on a par with family. My life would not be as full without family and friends. I feel sorry for people who do not have the companionship, love and friendship of other people, especially in old age. These Covid lock downs and social distancing are frustrating for that reason more than any other. We are social beings and although dogs can help us through times of separation, they can never completely substitute for other people. They are great companions and we bond to them in powerful ways, but how much better it is to have them together with our association of others.
We so agree - we could not survive with your our fur friends, they teach us what true unconditional love is.
What a beautiful video....we, humans, can definitely learn the art of loving unconditionally from the animals in our lives.

So beautiful. I do believe that all our animals and pets are from the Angelic world. They came into our lives to give us and teach us so much. When traveling into South Dakota one summer I met an old Lakota Indian man walking with 18 dogs. When he sat on a bench in front of an old store on the reservation I came out and set next to him while having a soda. I asked him about all of his dogs and he told me that once a man's Spirit connects with the dog spirit it's for eternity even in the afterlife. Then with a mischievous grin and glint in his eye he told me that I should beware, because when I cross over to the next World I will have a long long bridge to cross. And all the pets and dogs that I have owned will be on the other side, and they will decide whether I get to Cross or not.

I feel this way about All AnimalKIND, all have Love, Understandings, have a childlike character & i wish they could stay with us forever alas they are often more highly evolved than we are so they don't have to stay here as long as we do But we miss them when they go. I have retired completely now, i once worked in "other abilities" or as some may call it, Disabilities stream, i witnessed the ability of Creature Teachers to reach inside a child or adult & fashion a smile on a once devoid face 😊 I began sponsoring rescue's, Sanctuary's, Animal rehabilitation, Shelters & i did foster. Not able to do that now & i miss The Creature Teachers but there is nobody to take over & care for a wee one when i die so i have to concede & i am grateful for The Wild Birds in my Garden & insects & critters but i am so glad to see all these beautiful Souls above caring for these Furry & feathered Buddha's 🥰 🙏

This film made me feel like missing my dead dog so much. My dead dog was homeless when we met. We adopted it after found it liked to stay with us. All its' everything still intensely stalled in my mind. It seemed like a child always not being discipline but quickly forgot what he did any wrong thing. A matter recalled my memory about it. So many years ago, we had to move to another living place due to some unforgettable reason. My dear dog was sad and feared we left it alone again. The day before moving out, it didn't eat anything and just sat quietly without playing with us. As a human being, always remember what somebody hurt our own and is full of hate. The dog is still top of kindness and always friendly and love for its' family.

It is good to know, that there are other people, like you and me, who feel the same way.
I am convinced that your videos make human beings think of what is going on on our common planet. Compare the own life with their lives; check out and control if we are on the "right" way, we wish to live by heart. Will we be happy and satisfied, the moment we die?
The point of views of all the people in your videos are sympathetic different, than mainstream people´s view of life . Mostly it is this commercial worldwide phenomenon of: making money, career and having a life with endless material things around them, being popular, winner type etc.
One of my most important values is: time
And at 2nd place: time with my dog in nature (hahahaha).
There is nothing for me, that could top that :)

Last year we got our third dog. It is very lively with them and our kids, but when people ask me how is it with three dogs, i answer: It gets better with each dog.
Rolf - we would really agree having four rescue dogs and two cats we know what you are talking about.
When my best friend passed. In saying best friend. I mean my 9 year old fur friend Pudda
Every night we would go an adventure.
We would wait til it was dark and Pudda and I would walk for hours.
When she got really sick. I took her to the vet and I had to say my goodbyes.
I cried for weeks. I’m crying now
For weeks after I would hear the back screen door rattle at sunset. I’d go to see who it was and there was no one there. Then the front door would rattle. Again there was no one there.
For weeks after Pudda would come and tell me it was time for a new adventure....
I felt her lose more than any humans
That you are able to carry these precious memories of all your adventures together, so close to your heart - that is special. Pudda will always walk beside you!
