I grew up in a small town in 🇨🇦. Our community is home to a Family Run Business that supplies ice cream across 🇨🇦. Chapman's Ice Cream so of course we need to support them! 🥰
I can not and will not eat some of those flavored ice cream’s 😂 I did get the flavor of the month at our Vacation spot and it was delicious!! Salted Caramel brownie chunks!! 🍦

Thank you for the WIP. I enjoyed hearing about life happenings. I bought my son a large Lego set ( I believe it was Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest with the castle. He and I worked on it, I believe he was about 12. Of coarse I finished it and he loved it but his friends and him played with it and the next time I went in his room it was all in pieces. I picked it up in ziplocks and donated somewhere. Looking forward to the comparison video. I’ve not tried or seen these weird flavors of ice cream. Hope your son’s birthday is great. Working on “Wolf Dreamcatcher” for dpgreyinmay and “Jade’s Treasure” for mandiesmindblowingmay while in bed most of the time with a reconstructed foot. Doing good. More or less captive audience. Lol. I’ve had some unique ice creams. No marrow but edible flower flavors can be very nice. When in culinary school, part of my signature dessert was vanilla macarons with honey-lavender buttercream. And I’ve had rose-flavored rice pudding. The flower flavors have been used since the Middle Ages, though they are a bit bougie.
That’s so interesting to hear about flower flavors! I had a rose-flavored macaron once and had to spit it out - I thought I was eating soap 🥴 But if you love it, I love it for you!
@@DiamondsandWashi it’s pretty tricky to do right as too much is very overpowering. I tend to prefer honeys made by specific pollens as a better way to get the flavor. I will say that I introduced my dad to red bean ice cream (it’s very much common in Asia) and he loves that now. And I once made a rather nice grapefruit and rosemary sorbet for a palette cleanser.
Pear and blue cheese is amazing! So is lavender and honey.
🍨 I like trying new things sometimes but usually it has to be paired with something I know so I'm not totally dissapointed when it flops. Flavors that are strong like flowers you have to be really careful with when baking and such. Too much and that's all you will taste 😣 Motherhood was tough for me. Had a rough pregnancy and rough delivery. Then found out he was on the autism spectrum with sensory disorder and ADHD. Love my kiddo so so so much but everything can def be a challenge at times. We went to chuck E cheese for his 6th birthday this year and the noise ended up being a little overwhelming for him. I hope you have a lovely time at yours! Ive really enjoyed your WIP and Chats!
🍦🍦I can’t talk trash on weird flavors. My fave has been green tea since I was a kid. The perks of growing up as a Japanese person I guess 😊

I can't say I've tried any extremely untraditional ice cream flavors, but, when I was in high school I had the privilege to travel to Japan for 2 weeks with my language class, and I tried sesame ice cream while I was there. It was very tasty. Probably one of my top three favorite flavors actually. My other favorites I'd say are blue moon/playdoh (blue moon with cookie dough chunks) and black cherry with the cherry chunks in it. 🍦
Oh I had the same first time birth story as you! Started labor at night, labored all night, and all the next day. 27 hours total. My daughter was “sunny side up” as well. But for me the epidural did absolutely nothing. They told me it usually doesn’t work for back labor and that’s pretty much all I had was back labor.
I am not a crazy ice cream flavor person. I am content with my cookie dough or cookies and cream. We have a similar labor story! I went into labor at the time I was attempting to fall asleep and went to the hospital too early. They sent me home and I went back in the morning after we got my stepsons on the bus. I went 18 hours in labor before my daughter was born. It was a crazy day for sure! 🍨
🍦We went to Salt & Straw in Portland, OR a few years ago when we first moved to Oregon! My guess is we got regular flavors, but honestly all I remember is waiting in line. Darkwood Fae is coming out beautifully! I have it in square in my stash, but ended up picking Deity of Dawn from Munimade to do next, but I want to work on Darkwood Fae in the nearish future. :)
We have a few Salt & Straw locations in Seattle and the surrounding areas, but I've never been. I did try a sundae at the Tillamook Cheese Factory in Tillamook Oregon that was topped with Strawberries and Balsamic Vinegar. That was pretty good!🍨

🍦🍨Love the basic Chocolate Chip ice cream but recently tried a local ice cream shop that specializes in unique flavors. I tried the Avocado ice cream - tasted like an avocado with sugar and milk. It was yummy! The other was Olive Oil Vanilla Bean - yeah… it was different. 🤔

🍦🍨 I live near Disney World and there’s a Salt and Straw at Disney Springs here too. I haven’t tried it, but I looked at the flavor list and was quite amused! It’s not something I’d likely try. 😜
Oh gosh, I'd never try a bone marrow ice cream, yikes! 🤮I'd probably try a flowery one though! The strangest flavor I've probably had is black licorice, and I love it. XD Definitely not for everyone. 🍦I loved your video with Adam yesterday! I'm contemplating whether to respond via comment or name my picks in my next WIP and chat, since I'm working on Balance, hehe. Glad you had what sounds like a wonderful Mother's Day!
Burnout is so real...I just finished the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Movie Poster kit. It was ALOT of color blocking. It was movie poster size and so it was a lot. It takes me up to 6 months for one large painting if I push enough so I couldn't do content creation review videos etc like you do because of that. I work outside the home as well so it doesn't give me a lot of time to complete kits in a timely manner. Even some small kit's take me ages depending on how tired I get at my job.

🍦 There is a Salt and Straw in Orlando’s Disney Springs, previously known as Downtown Disney, that opened a year or two ago. I don’t think I’d be brave to eat “bone marrow”! Maybe I’d try the floral flavors, but I’d most likely stick with the classics!

I tried a sample of corn ice cream once for shits and giggles. Wasn’t as weird tasting as I thought it would be, but definitely not something I would get again 😝🍦

I like stick to the normal ice cream flavors. But when I went to Key West with my brother, he got lavender flavor ice cream and he said that lavender flavor stuff is taking off where he lives.
The problem with lavender, is that if you put too much into the mixture, it can taste like soap. So, I don’t think I’ll try such an interesting flavor of ice cream. 🍦 🍨
Those unique flavors are for my husband. XD we were at an ice cream shop one time and they had bacon ice cream (vanilla ice cream with real bacon in it) and he tried a taste and went “give me a scoop.” The employee really tried to discourage him from having a scoop so we figured they have a small amount of the weirder flavors for tasting and lots of the rest. I got vanilla with swirls cause I like sweet ice cream. 🍦🍨
🍦I’m one of the oddballs and would love to try the pear and blue cheese. I love how fruit and blue cheese blend in my salads so this doesn’t seem too far off. I unfortunately don’t have a store near me, but ordering online would be price prohibitive for me.

🍨 i’m currently working on Story Time from Diamond Art Club. It’s supposed to have glow in the dark diamonds that are black. But I can’t seem to get them to glow. I’ve tried setting the diamonds in a tray on the windowsill to get sunlight and that did not work. I tried putting them under a bright lamp and that did not work either. So I gave up on the glow in the dark part of it. I’ll continue to use the black diamonds because they look nice, but I just don’t expect them to glow😢

I'm lactose intolerant so not much of an ice cream fan. But even if I wasn't lactose intolerant I don't think I would do a bone marrow ice cream 🤢 but on that same note isnt that more or less what gelatin is? Jello and gummi type candies 😬😄 just a little "food for thought" 😂🍨
