Also, the back of the Pixel 3A had plastic and he was pretty happy with it. Plastic is actually more physically durable than glass anyway, even though it scratches easily.
We need to remember that he purchased more expensive metal and glass phones that buckled under his grip, the Switch Lite didn't. I call that impressive.

I got a small scuff on my screen soon after getting it, but I got a decent screen protector for £5. I’ve had it for a while... more than 6 months, closer to a year, and I personally haven’t experienced any damage to it (I don’t really take it anywhere though and I treat it like my baby, so it’s probably down to extra care)

I would love a switch lite. I have a switch but I hardly ever use the TV mode, however I still love my good old 2017 switch
got a switch lite for christmas (well was ordered on the spot) and one thing I made sure to get was a temper glass screen protector. With any major purchase I all always do research. So I know of defects (like drifting), what it can or cant do....or if it can scratch easily. Im pretty careful with devices but better safe then sorry. Even got a carrying case so easier to carry around in a bag

Honestly I would get a lite as a backup unit but my only problem with it is that it can't dock charge. Just sticking the switch on the dock is so easy because I always know where it is and I can move the dock to where my cat roommate won't knock it. And even if my cat knocks it the switch is mostly safe.
