Awesome, honest video. You should make a video on engine swaps for these rigs.
He has 😁 said the 2.0 90% of the time has a crack in one of the lobes under the cam shaft. the 2.3 is a better engine. Anything bigger and it will take lots of cutting, you may also throw off the vehicles center of gravity 🫣
94 Tracker owner for two years now. Thanks to you I have the knowledge to keep her on the road🙏🏻Thank You …….. PS can you do a video on suspension and lifts body lifts? Because mine is stock, but I would like to put some bigger tires on, nothing crazy.
I sure like my stainless header set up ! Eliminates crack leaks from cast ! & much lighter in weight !
Same here!
Can i get di link fi order one please
I like your honesty. And your opinions count. I have 1995 sidekick jlx. Great unit. . Yup. Miller time. Thanks
Thanks for watching! 🍻🙂
I agree. I put one on my 87 Zuki, looks good , maybe a small improvement in power
Hey Tony since you asked, I have to ask your opinion on the harley carbs like the one from Zuks-Offroad in AZ, there seems to be many different ones. Are they dependable, have more power etc? I'm sure we'd all like to see a video from you about those.
I did a 3k carb swap and distributor recurve on my 88. Header did seem to wake those mods up. Definitely better pull out of the hole with my 30 inch mudders, but not the kind of results you get from a big V8.
i got a header last night worth the price of a buger and a movie!!
i have a header like this on my Samurai and the best part is the sound and lack of exhaust leaks. My OEM exhaust manifold wasnt cracked, but it still would leak from every connection, so in my opinion, headers are worth the money just for that reason. Power wise, gains are unnoticable.
Awesome! Thanks!
U answered a question I didn't know I had.
Which header would u recommend purchasing for a stock '98 Tracker with a 1.6?
Middle of my engine swap currently n progress & found my header had a hairline crack. (Didn't affect my baby's power but was noticeable every time the A/C was out & the windows were down. Hadn't checked that yet & thought it was a faulty front cat gasket, before I had to pull the engine.)
Was planning to attempt to weld the crack. Still new at welding. U saved me the trouble & chance of dealing with future header cracks!
"Where your CAT should be"
😅 how you know I removed it.
Appreciate you, Tony. I run the Doug T. Headers on my rock crawler, it's not that it give me "more power" but I definitely notice a difference in how clean the exhaust gasses are expelled, which creates better force for the intake, the 1.3 sohc g13 is a slug, no matter what you do it will always be a slug. It's Miller time!
They worth the money for the looks an maybe the sound.
I had a stainless steel header just like yours, from aliexpress on my 1.6 8v.,
No dyno before and after ???
Dude, you get a new camera or am I just sober? 😳
"Eliminates Cracks" Like plumber's crack! Lol.
Had a g13 with 4 to 2 to 1 header with 2 inch exhaust and one coby muffler, holds the revs a lot better for longer
Power gain was negligible on my manual shift 93 kick 4 door 16v. Also, the o2 bunge on the header was further down requiring an o2 wire extension or universal o2. Ive, cracked 3 stock headers. Found another header at the junkyard, but this one had the block bracket. I never had one before. Intalled that bracket with the junkyard header, and it has yet to crack. That was about 10 years ago. Tony's header has the bracket still on it, and maybe that's why it's a good header. How many cracked headers didn't have the lower bracket?
Air , fuel and exhaust, one such a small engine gains would be small hp wise but % wise would acually show a number. wonder if there is a cam for those. I personaly have a 2.3 sport 1998 with a sammy front axle and yes crazy spacers.... let me save the comments and rip wheel bearings... but they have been fine, off road use only :)
Hey I like the T.B.I 1994 Geo Tracker had 1.6 8 valve redline what is that Merry Christmas To All the ones out there🎉✝️👆🌈🤣 Keepin comin😂 is a competition Cam really worth it ? Or should I kill the cat passes 2 years newer model emissions ?
i am wondering about all the necessary stuff that goes on under the hood. is there supposed to be a piece of rubber where the latch is so the metal thing that is where the spring lands on that piece of metal since there is a hole? also, how exactly is that spring put on? i got three pieces to include a nut but have no idea what to do with the nut.?
Put a new carb on it the 300 kit and then the header the two together is not huge but quite noticeable. Thanks for the vid. 1988 Zuk
Do you have a suzuki samurai with a G16A engine from the Vitara ?
What about the oxygen on 98 1'6 sidekick. All headers on line not have ox Sen . please help . 83 rocks
If you want power, fuck no a header ain't worth it! If you want a throaty sound, hell yeah it's worth it! Plus style points!
I spent a few weeks in college trying every single bolt on modification on multiple different engine types on both an engine dyno and a wheel dyno. Every time the stock intake made the most power and every time an unrestricted exhaust made the most power. However the intake air temperature and turbulence made a far bigger difference than the exhaust. The flipped cap on a Chevy 350 that everyone swears makes more power? 30% reduction in power over the bone stock OEM fender intake.
Where can I find remain engine for 1996 sidekick
They sound better but if you want a noticeable gain on a budget, one good option is to finish it with a 2 inch exhaust, add a high flow intake or at least a snorkel and re jet the carby.
It will power up hills like it never did before!
A snorkel is the opposite of a high flow intake! lol
@@MiloPerrotti not if done right, but yea, see your point as useless as it is.
Have you tried any of it? I've been running this set up for a long time. Though I did remove my snorkel as it was destroying the pillar.
The carby mod plus easier breathing works. Have you tried? or is this what you do, just point out useless shit?
@@MiloPerrotti it's actually classed as cold air intake.
Social media has destroyed us.
You're pathetic buddy, how about something useful to add instead of you're faceless cowardly pokes.
@@ryanfp5657 sure cold air but definitely not high flow
@@MiloPerrotti the main point of my original comment was about re jetting. It's easy to do and drives as good as any Weber whilst not flooding on hills and only cost an hour of time and a 5 dollar jet.
Increase in intake flow with the exhaust increase via headers makes a good set up wether cold air or high flow.
Is that better or would you like to nit pick like a female a bit more?
How to get to the 3rd collector bolt under the manifold?
Loooong extension and socket
@@Hwy83SUZUKI couldn't get the socket!
I wonder if a header made for an earlier Tracker would fit a 99 with the 1.6? Anyone ever try this?
I doubt it. Nothing, I've checked, is compatible between my '98 with anything newer. Chevy changed every part I've looked into, with the '99s.
I think you will gain maybe 3-4 hp. Will you feel that.. no. Looks better? Yes, sounds better yes, fun cheap mod
Those headers are not made correctly. Number 2 and 3 should run on the out side of number 1 and 4 to get them at an equal length.
