Today I'm going to tell you about a business that went form $0 to $3 million dollars by renting out other people's billboards. Think of it as a digital real estate business. If you're like me and are interested in making money on assets that work for me--even when I'm not working--then today's video is for you! There are 4 ways you can make money off billboards:
1. Print billboards like the ones you see on the street.
2. You can have moving billboards on vehicles (like the company Adgile offers)
3. You could own digital billboards like the ones you sometimes see at bus stops
4. Or, you could do what the two guys did in today's video and start their own billboard business to take advantage of unused billboard inventory. And we're going to tell you how they did it in this video!

This idea 💡 clicked for me around 10 years ago, but at that time, the technology wasn't quite there in Romania to make this process easy, but even now, it is not quite easy to do especially if not a marketer because its a huge risk if you rent the billboard for 2 weeks and you can't advertise good enough to seel the advertising space to enough clients to make some profit some times you break even sometime you lose and in good case you make some profit.

Hey Cody big fan here . I’m a bit confused since it says these guys do not own the billboard but yet they are running the ad space ? Help ?
The question not heard is that it takes a lot of time to get contracts with property owners, businesses and a cut of the sale in order for you to install your billboards on their property. But props, 500,000 is a massive feat.
They found the existing infrastructure (billboard owners) and are leveraging their properties and making a cut by selling micro slots so that's how they're making their money.
@@danieltaylor-cohart649 it's basically offering unsold hours/days so board owners make more money and clients can afford board space via smaller time slots.

Can people buy their own digital billboards? Then have them manage them? Not trying take their idea from them but I know I couple places that digital billboards will be good and have a lot of foot traffic

I just put in an order for a billboard in North Texas. I got charged $48 for a two-hour slot from April 4-11 from 7-9pm on a digital outdoor billboard next to the highway. I'm in Spain now, so my parents in Texas will tell me if it worked.
Any updates???
It works sometimes, and I found it to not be reliable for business. I bought slots for several clients and they could not see their ads for the slots chosen. Their customer service is responsive but don't offer much in terms of solutions. Unfortunately, It's not a very robust nor reliable service, so I stopped booking with them. I think they are aiming for larger clients and the small fish don't matter.

So general question. Say I have made financial mistakes in the past and now have a decent amount of debt between credit cards, car payment ect.. can i still buy a business (under an LLC) or is it better to become debt neutral before starting such a venture? I have such a drive and passion to own my own business and live my life the way I want but this debt cloud is looming over my head. 25 years old looking for a change.
I’d recommend you to try and pay down the debt you carry with the highest interest rate…which in most cases is credit cards. If you could afford to, make more than minimum payments. Don’t think of debt that way because there are ways you could use debt in your favor and not all debt is bad debt.

she said in the video that they are like "property managers for billboards," so no, they don't own the billboards, they make a deal with the billboard owner, taking a percentage of the rental fee; they have effectively massively increased the revenue stream for the billboard owner (by allowing many more kinds of businesses and individuals to utilize the billboard who would otherwise not be able to).
What is the name of their company? Its never mentioned.
So, is this video one who we go to for getting our business on a small digital billboard or is it how to purchase a small digital billboard? I am interested in the latter. When I google "how much are small digital billboards" I see $750 - $14,000 per month. That sounds like I an renting billboard space. I want to buy a small digital billboard. Then I have to rent the space on the sidewalk or on a building to install my small digital BB. Or am I missing something?

So the cost for branding is great but how can one calculate the return in billboard spend?
This is a challenge even with long term big billboard clients have today.

Can @CodieSanchezCT or anyone explain to me how they rent the billboard a day. Do they buy advertising for a week to the billboard property owners and then rent per day to the customers?
Or do they have a agrement with the property owners where they get clients and the property owners rent to them for 1, 2, 3 etc... days?
I think its the first mentioned above if so their is a big risk because if they don't have clients their losing money to rent it weekly
If its the second why don't the property owners do it their selfs if they are already doing to them?
I kind of think you should have talk more in depth about the business model because this wasnt mentioned very well but great video.

Agreed good business idea and all but one thing hits me like doesn't it make the overall big thing accessible to any random person, as we see in the video people really think that it's a big thing to appear on a billboard and you guys make it accessible to any random kid who makes tiktok, I mean after some time that really defeat the purpose i.e to attract big players to reach these billboards they think its not a big deal now like they used to be.

It's actually pretty confusing. At first I thought they leased the billboard and then "sublet" them to different advertisers for a few hours. But then they mention technology,. So this company makes the billboards digital or were they already digital? I don't know much about billboards so .....
