"Inquisitor, with all respect. Is exterminatus the only solution?"
"Admiral Spire, it is said that Heresy is like a tree. It's roots lie in darkness while it's leaves wave in the sun. You can prune away it's branches, even cut the tree to the ground, but it will grow again, ever stronger. Such is the nature of heresy, and why it is so difficult to destroy. Some may question my right to destroy a world of ten billion souls, but those who truly understand, realize that I have no right to let them live. No sacrifice is too great, no treachery too small."
Lord Admiral have Your Fleets ready for self destruct. Your knowledge of the aftermath of Exterminatus has corrupted you and I sense Heresey will cross your mind. Your sacrifice will mean Chaos never destroyed you but it was yourself that destroyed you
The idea of an Inquisitor quoting Angron to justify exterminatus is beautiful.
What if heresy is discovered on Terra or other valuable worlds like Ultramar?
@@user-unos111 that's where the Inquisition comes in, holy Terra and ultramar are some of the most stalwart in faith to the Emperor, the Inquisition comes Terra tediously for any sign of heresy and eliminates it. On Ultramar the living conditions are some of the best in all of the Imperium so not many citizens are likely to turn to chaos, Ultramar is also home to the Primarch roboutte guillimen, who until recently was frozen in a stasis field due to a fatal wound he received after the Horus heresy. He is worshipped as a Demi God and millions of Imperium citizens make pilgrimage to his temple to see him. The planets most at risk for chaos are either hive worlds with trillions of citizens living in horrid conditions or planets on the edge of Imperium space susceptible to attack.
+ kidnapedbybeavers195
Terra has like, a quadrillion of people living there, most of them pilgrims from other planets who come to die there in miserable conditions. There is no way the Inquisition or Arbites can keep track of so much people. Also, faith can be easily misguided, especially for such deperate fanatics.
As for Ultramar, I fail to see how Guiliman's presence would solve anything. Trying to reform the Imperium means a lot of powerful individuals are going to be really upset. As for the normal citizens I am pretty sure he doesn't share their blind faith in his dad. This can only end in trouble and Chaos feeds on trouble.
I'm never quite sure where to give the credit for the emotional response I get from the Templin Institutes WH40K related videos.
Games Workshop and 40K fans have often produced emotionally charged artwork, and backstory for their created universe. However combined with the Templin Institutes script, music selection and of course Larisa's reading of the script everyone of these videos had made me want to send my armies across the stars to create a safer galaxy for humanity.
But when all is said, done and thought I need to thank the Templin Institute for these videos and all the others they have created.

*"Terra is the most heavily fortified world in the galaxy".*
Yeah, having a gigantic *_Emperor-damned Ork Attack Moon_* parked itself over the throne world and terrorize humanity shitless for months just a thousand years later after the Horus Heresy really made the Imperial Fists* fortify the hell out of Terra in the last 8 thousand years in order to avoid that.
*Technically it was the 'Imperial Fists successors posing as the Imperial Fists since the Orks wiped out the original chapter entirely, but that's just a minor detail.
It has been a fortress pretty much since the early days of the Imperium.
It has always been home to Battlefleet Solar, although said fleet has often been subject to the machinations of the high lords, and Luna is essentially a planet sized battlestation.
It just attracts trouble because it is the center of everything and sometimes Battlefleet Solar is out because the High Lords are corrupt assholes.
Captain krooland survived = not wiped
Luna's technically a moon-sized battle station, and it shit was pushed in by the Ork Attack Moon when it literally popped into the sky above Terra through 'subspace' [not the Warp] just as the High Admiral of the Imperial Navy was having a victory speech because Battlefleet Solar had destroyed the first Ork Attack Moon in another nearby system (Port Sanctus iirc), despite the fact that the fleet took *heavy* losses during the battle.
To put things into perspective of how bad the situation was: an entire army of civilians and civilian transports attempted to invade the Ork Attack Moon in order to repel the invaders [which went about as well as you'd expect a match up of 'normal terrifed Imperium civilian with zero combat training against Nob-sized Orks' to go.] because the Orks had total void supremacy over Terra at that point. The Phalanx wasn't in constant orbit around Terra at this point either.
The situation was bad because the fleet was out of position and could not be back before the Ork's ultimatum deadline. Sure the fleet took heavy losses but the fleet always takes heavy losses, they kamikazed a near irreplaceable battleship into a bunch of space locusts because it was the easiest short term solution.
If they had been there they could have taken on a second moon as it was though there was only one navy ship in the whole solar system and that was the Mr-I'm-a-brave-highlord-look-at-me's flag.
Internet Zen Master Well, just because it was threatened badly doesnât mean itâs not the most heavily fortified world in the galaxy since basically no fortress (not in the materium anyway) could stand before the Beastâs invasion

With blade and bolter, with faith and fire!
First time since the Horus Heresy that Terra has been attacked? Two Words: The Beast. Also, Chaos Cults, Genestealer Infestations, Alien Infiltrations, Daemonic Incursions, this happen ALL the Emperor Damned time on Terra. Its why the Adeptus Custodes exist, to kill these things in the face with extreme predjidice and they don't just stand around the palace all day like excessively gaudy orniments, the Custodes actually work for a living.
Well if we want to be technical the Beast didn't attack... he just sent a giant Ork Attack Moon that slaughtered m32-era's Segmentum Solar fleet and basically played the role of Moon from Majora's Mask for a couple months (instead of just gravitic whipping Terra to death, since that'd fuck up the timeline by 8 thousand years). Although the Beast did send a FUCKING ORK DIPLOMAT that basically called the High Lords of Terra bunch of unreasonable idiots who can't be bargained with after offering them surrender terms.
Which is in some ways more devastating than *anything* Horus ever did, save for mortally wounding Big E.
Let's not forget that time a Dark Eldar got onto the planet and started building grotesques out of the slum dwellers and was making his way to the throne. The Inquisition and Custodes put a stop to this, but there were some very unsettling implications that SEVERAL high lords permitted this to happen.
@@internetzenmaster8952 I thought that the entirety of the Segmentum solar fleet, save for the personal flagship of the Highlord of the imperial Navy, was too far out system, after destroying an ork attack moon, because some idiot captain decided to follow in the foot steps of his idiot Highlord and tried to destroy an ork attack moon by his lonesome, which put between a rock and a hard place and to save face Highlord Retardcius committed the entire solar fleet destroy it.
What was thrown at the recently appeared ork attack moon was basically ( cannon fodder ) barely armed merchant ship, composed of ( suicidally retarded ) patriotic civilians, who could find their own ass with 2 hands, written instructions, and a map.
This is coming completely from Arch Warhammers summary of the book BTW . I never actually touched a 40k novel.
I see you are a man of culture good sir!
And yeah, Arch's summary of what happened is pretty accurate, except for the fact there were a few ships left to defend Terra besides High Lord Retardicus' personal flag ship. It's probably a good thing most of the Segmentum Solar fleet wasn't in system (it had already taken heavy losses fighting the first attack Moon), because they would have been slaughtered when if the Attack Moon popped out and started lashing out with that gravitic whip weapon.
Harlequins also managed to sneak in and almost got to the Throne.
It's now known that Custodes ditched the attempts at using xenos to help with repairing the Golden Throne and are instead trying to get to a Forgeworld where some of its components were once made.

If in the future there will be any film about 40k, I want the first film to be about some random planet in a far fringe border with may be a monarch or democracy government style ruler debate, argue and may be doing a uprising/revolution to get rid of that they think are the myth that is the Imperium and Holy Terra. The movies make the new fan root for the "rebel" while the old fan just sit there grinning about the fact the Imperial Navy will come and bomb this planet back to stone age few dozen year later. First movies should establish what kind of govern the Imperium is and hammer hard the fact that the Imperium may not the best choice but it is the only best choice for humanity at this moment. May be some world that is leading a rebellion from the Imperium and get a sanction/cleansing from the Administratum to be make an example to other in the sector. Make the viewer root for the noble who in their revolution claim to free themselves from the shackled and taxes of the supposedly claim powerful and galaxy spanning Imperium then in the end, the Imperium came and descend onto the world with no quarter or pity. This should be a good place to introduce an Astartes too.
Then second film should be about Ciaphas Cain, the "hero of the Imperium" to talk about all its flawed, ugly but necessary thing for humanity to survive.

Watching that video, I thought how cool it would be as an intro for a proper 40k movie: epic, ruthless and chokingly glorious.
My biggest fascination with the Imperium of Man is with its government. We're already struggling with our world now as is, but somehow the Imperium has managed to rule thousands of worlds, with billions upon billions of people with different backgrounds, cultures, systems....How do they do it??
Thousands? Ha, you got to be kidding me. Imperium at all the time has under it's dominion over million worlds. Billions? Only Imperial Palace itself holds population of three billion. Random hive world can house tens of billions cityzens and one system can be a home up to four or five inhabited worlds and moons. Count in trillions, baby.
They mostly take a hands off approach on most of them. The administratum usually installs a planetary government and most of the planets are left alone as long as they are fulfilling their quota of tithes to the Imperium. Off course if a planet decides to get too uppity the Empire will off course formulate a response. This response can take a while, somewhere between a few years to up to a century. But you really don't want to see the response. Because by that point you are most likely fucked.
Terra alone has quadrillions of people.
If it took Cadia breaking before the guard did, it will take the galaxy breaking before Terra even decides breaking is an option
Thanks for creating these awesome videos, they are a piece of art!

Not fair, W40k is to OP
The Imperium possesses fleets in the tens of billions. Ground forces in hundreds of billions.
