    Or if the Empire ever gets wind of your opinions about the Emperor and his fleet logic... ... ... You might be Exicuted for treason against the Empire. O_O oops 😅😅😅 But on another note I think the Venator was the better class of warships that the Galactic Navy could've salvaged and brought up to standard but somehow I feel they set the standards already and the moffs didn't want to be caught admitting it so they quietly burned and brutality buried the best warships in the Galaxy.

    Point of order on naming conventions... You appear to be going by the WWII USN navy standards. In the modern USN the Tico class cruisers appear to be mostly named after battles with the odd person thrown in for some reason while submarines are now named after cities. Also, while I'm not familiar with most Soviet/Russian ships, thier last remaining Soviet era carrier is name Admiral Kuznetsov, while infamously, the flag cruiser they had in the Black Sea that got sunk was called the Moskva, named after a river apparently.

    I think I would cut back on the TIE Defenders and TIE Bombers. Go for TIE Oppressors and TIE Hunters instead. And if they are available get as many I-7 Howlrunners as I can in place of the Interceptors which shouldn't be hard since most Imperial commanders didn't want the I-7s. I would replace a couple of the Arquitens class ships in each escort squadron with Nebulon-B Frigates and upgrade the Raiders to Surveyor class Reconnaissance Frigates. (Why mod a Raider for recon duty when you can get a ship built from the ground up for the role?) If I manage to get any TIE Phantoms I would pair them with the Surveyors because to me it makes sense to have my stealth fighters based on my stealth ships.

    Bit of a nerd moment: I got into an argument about how in the second movie Jack made the right call turning the Pearl away from the Dutchman because in a straight up brawl the Dutchman would quite literally break the Pearl over its knee. The other person brought up how ships at the time were designed to bounce cannon balls off its side hulls and the Pearl should have stayed and fought. Nah. No way. Nuh uhh. The pearl is a merchantman/galleon hybrid with 12 pounder guns. *The Dutchman is a flyut, a straight warship, with 32 pounder guns. This ship will punch holes in the pearl at most any angle at almost any distance.*

    The problem is not about the philosophy of sword, shield, and hammer, it's about the fact that bad AI and pathfinding break battlecruisers, they drift in battle like frigates, unable to maintain formation, and their ion beam turrets often get blocked by their own hulls, the best I can do is to set them in aggressive stance, babysitting them now and then, and hope they would shoot something in range, in the later patch of remastered homeworld 2, even hiigaran Veneration class battlecruisers would tilt as needed to bring both ion cannons to bear on a single target, a hundred years later, the supposed improved third generation hiigaran Gal'Geth Class battlecruisers can't even shoot straight, let along on my chosen target. No wonder why the Daiamid named these battlecruisers after the largest super volcano on hiigara, because they have no idea when and how the super volcano will erupt.

    Another common point through many sci-fi titles is the idea that future mankind will find home on alien worlds perfectly suited for terrestrial life. While reality shows that... It doesn't exist such chance. There are yet no worlds fitted for our life out there. Hence my thought about terraforming being the only way to find another home. The simple (but with tremendously complex procedures) of taking a varren world and turning it into a fitted planet is actually our best way to proceed. While making my own worldbuilding I used this concept. There are two key aspects of successful galactic civilizations in my universe: the ability of travel in space in quick time and the ability of terraforming worlds. And yet I'm developing a faction, a civilization, that don't match such achievements and still result as a succesful civilization. For now it is called with the temporary name of "Colonial Empire of Tiir". Like some Homeworld factions, this civilization of humans was born in space. 7500 years after the exodus from Earth, after the Solar War, while mankind was split between those who followed the Diaspora of the Aesir in the Galactic Core, and those of the Xechnà To Exodus in the Galactic Fringe, the laters was left "alone" by their overlords for centuries. The first efforts of the humans was that of terraforming one, single, but suited planet that later was known simply as "the Capital". Later it became the throne world of a vast interstellar empire spanning several hundred worlds. Not through democratic and benevolent rule. Rebeling such tyrrannical rule over their lives, a group of colonists that seized their chance after one of the countless civil wars of such Empire (known simply as "the Empire" or "the Human Empire"), despite not suited and equipped with hyperspace and terraforming technology, these colonists found shelter in a nebula far off the limits of their precedent nation. Struggling for surviving since the first days of their new society, these colonists build an initially small, but important station, suited to accomodate their people needs, while their ships was out in the space, seeking raw resources, relics, and everything was needed for survival. Democracy, an ancient concept from the lost home of Mankind, had little meaning in a rough society like that of Tiir, the first station. But the very basic political and most powerful institution in this new society was the Daiamid, a council of captains of the Station. Each captain had the power of life and death above their ship's crews and families. Most of the times, the two was the same. In time, while years passed, such captains became more of admirals, marshalling entire fleets and obtaining by that both political and economic power on Tiir's Daiamids. As the population grew in size and so even their fleets, the need for new Stations grew exponsntially. Unsuited to live anymore on solid planets with gravity, these new humans started to develop legs and feet with opposal thumbs in order to better adapt the low gravity environment of a space station. And of course while muscolar strenght was inferior to that of planet-based humans, their organisms started show a natural resistance towards radiations. While still low and limited. With the foundation of new Stations under the same rule of Tiir's Daiamids, it became later needed a place where, other than politically, the people of the stations could have exchanged resources and built new ships. That demand was answered by the decision to make a giant sister Station to Tiir entirely dedicated to trade and space engineering. Equipped with multiple dockyards and thousands of different size hangars and store facilities, the Great Harbor of Tirrana became the pulsing heart of what it was already known as the "Colonial Empire of Tiir". That's roughly the lore behind this faction.

  • @danielefabbro822
    @danielefabbro822 Před 2 dny

    It's curious how in sci-fi titles such Homeworld and Halo etc, there are these ancient and long forgotten highly advanced civilizations. All accomunated by the same traits with small differences. In Homeworld for example Progenitors, thought the use of such Hyperspace cores, are able to travel through the while galaxy in an instant. And this might look more advanced. But Forerunners too, that looks apparently less advanced since their hyperspace technology takes days or even weeks to travel the same distances, is able to move much more than simple ships. Imnense megastructures can be moved and if the Forerunners wanted, they could have moved even planets or stars since the mass they was able to drive was of that scale. It might be the space (speculation) also for the Progenitors. But still both these civilizations are no match for the (Halo) civilization of the Precursors. Not only able to seed the whole universe and create life from nothing, but even able to move objects of immense mass (or create them from nothing) through both space and hyperspace in instants with their hyper advanced technology. I'm definitely fashinated and partially obsessed with such advanced and lost civilizations... that's also why I'm a bit disappointed with Homeworld 3... No explanations given about the Progenitors. Maybe the developers have yet to "develop" anything concrete about such important piece of the puzzle? It's unrealistic, otherwise their games will show incongruences about the ruins and the technology showed in the game. So they have just decided to not show anything new. And ok, maybe this means they will make an "Homeworld 4"... but it's better if they will do what it takes to end the cycle.

  • @danielefabbro822
    @danielefabbro822 Před 2 dny

    I don't know if I've already said this, and I don't want to look excessively critical but... while the game is incredibly well, the plot of the game... I don't like it. We already had Homeworld 2 when a myserious space empire attacks Hiigara for the three cores. Why making a new one? We already had a focus about how important are such "navigators"... Homeworld 3 is basically a second Homeworld 2. What it's missed is some revelations over the Progenitors. Who they was, how their technology works, how vast was their dominion, why they disappeared... Maybe I'm too critic. Maybe not, but this is my opinion.
