Another option for people who want to own these games physically is the Evercade. There’s a fabulous Renovation collection with these two and ten other, mostly excellent, games.
Is evercade a cart with all games built in? Like an ever drive?
An evercade is a console that takes proprietary carts, there's a handheld version and a console version. There are some atari, namco, technos, data east, jaleco, etc carts.
The evercade xp has some build in capcom games.

God Sol Feace came with my Sega CD. First game to have voice acted animated cutscenes for me. Was blown away lol

The sega cd one was infinitely better than the genesis cart or x68000 versions. Love the CD release.

Did you know the producers of El Viento, Sol Deace/Feace and Arcus Odyssey would then go on to do the well-regarded Tales franchise starting on the Super Famicom? My brother is also a huge fan of the IP.

Sol-Deace!! Oh that takes me back! So many hours spent in that game. Was one of my first Genesis rentals that I just couldn't put down even after it kicked my butt over and over!
Same. GOD me and my brother played this game so much. We were blown away when when we rented Sol Feace (sega-cd version) and heard the music sounded better than Sol-Deace and had full voice acting and cutscenes. I still play this game from time to time. Such a good game.
Sol-Deace is one of my favorite shooters from that era
Pretty sure it didnt get great reviews and wasnt considered one of the best shmups. Not sure why.
@@Chaz4543 The game system is pretty unique and really functional. Hard but rewarding. Graphics are fine (enemies are kinda ugly tho) and the music is just amazing with their trademark instruments. Yeah, it is above average in my book.

I love hearing about products like this. I will always give companies, who are willing to bring me legitimate products, my money. It is my hope that more great products like these will come sooner rather than later. Awesome news!

I played both of the games. A little rough around the edges but the anime cutscenes are so awe-inspiring that I had to keep playing to see it no matter how hard it is.

Awesome clip! 😎🤘🏻🎸🎹🎮 I’ve played el viento when I was kid and it became one of my most favorite sega genesis games. I especially love the soundtrack of this game. It sounds phenomenal. And the cutscenes in the game were visually stunning. I really like video games that has anime styled cut scenes. Wolf team makes such phenomenal video games.
I still have the Sol-Feace disc that came bundled with my Sega CD and I used to really dig the game. My 1992 Model 1 Sega CD died in 1995 so I have no way to play the disc today, but I still use it as a tray on which to do circular lines of the fine Colombian blow I got addicted to back in the day trying to wrap my young mind over why the cart version’s name was changed to Sol “Deace”. Stevie Nicks and I are besties, though she prefers to use the Rock Paintings disc for her lines.
I love the enemy sprite rotation effects on Sol Deace.
It was a shame here in PAL regions we never got any of Wolfteam's games on the Mega Drive. It's almost like nobody could be bothered to publish anything for the PAL regions as alot of the time SEGA were forced to pick them up and publish them in Europe themselves or the games would not be released there. Funny thing about all the Wolfteam games is that none of them have slow music in PAL mode yet they were not released there. We did get Sol-Feace on the PAL Mega-CD though and that is pretty much the same game as Sol-Deace.
I had Sol Feace when i first got my sega cd,man did i play that game alot,it had amazing reebook audio music.
The voice acting was awesome too. I'd almost rather have had wolf team re-release the cd version.

I just found my Sega CD original Sol-Feace here! The cover is a bit damaged, but the CD is good condition.

I have Sol-Feace for the Sega-CD, so Sol-Deace is not very tempting, though I'm glad they are reprinting it. I've long wanted to play El Viento though, but the resale prices are so absurd, as SL pointed out. Already preordered at Castlemania - really excited. I hope Retro-Bit keeps going with these, they're doing amazing work.

I always love official rereleases of classic Mega Drive games because it gives me a chance to own the official releases without paying the ridiculous prices they go for on eBay and these 2 Woflteam games are pretty well known now, thanks to positive reviews, I’m interested in El Viento the most though but both have great soundtracks by Motoi Sakaruba.
It's nice to see expensive games getting re-released. I'd rather see some Saturn games get the treatment since I can always update my modded Genesis mini if I want these games. I suppose I could do the same with Saturn games and retroarch, though it's not the same without the console-appropriate controller.
Saturn emulation is still far from perfect, even if it's come REALLY far. I suggest just getting a real Saturn and a preloaded Pseudo Saturn cartridge, lets you play everything except like Croc and maybe a couple other games

In Europe "We" didn't get Sol-Deace on the Megadrive... But "we" got Sol-Feace on the MEGA-CD! it's great!! 🥳
Very nice! I no longer have my original Genesis, but this is really awesome! Renovation did ring a bell as I used to own Arrow Flash. The retro game market can get very expensive, so glad to see an affordable alternative!

I always thought the guy who said "Game Creative Staff - Wolfteam" on the Sega CD Wolfteam games sounded like George Takai.
RetroBit doesn’t get enough love, every one of their products I've purchased has been fantastic. I've had a couple of their USB Saturn controllers I've been using nonstop for 4-5 years and only just recently started having one minor issue with the wireless one.
The Saturn controllers are also officially licensed. I wish they'd make a 3D controller though
Funny to see Sol-Deace get this much attention since it was a conversion of more populair Sol-Feace on the Mega CD (which came out 1 year before), i guess it has to do that it's easier to rerelease cartridge-based games.
As for your note about not seeing these titles in EU, confuses me a bit, since all the titles you mentioned we had over here as well, but the ones i personally owned were Sol-Feace and Road Avenger on the Mega CD, i think i hired El Viento a few times too, all great games.
I guess Sol-Deace was only released in the US though.
El Viento was released in France a while after the US version. You may have played that one. Sol-Deace was definitely US only.
i do like that these companies are giving people the chance to legit own once rare / unreleased/translated games for older systems.

I just beat sol dealer about a month ago, I've beat el Viento also. I used to own a complete copy of el Vientio but I sold it in 2017 for 160$ . I wish I kept that game now

I always wondered on the Sega CD Wolfteam logo, it sounded like it said Gangrene and Staph!
Mad I missed these. I have a MiSTer so I can play both games no problem, but I do own an original Japanese copy of El Viento that I want to preserve.

Wolf Team and Irem had similar art styles and color usage. El Viento and RType could be in the same universe
Sol Deace is awesome. It would make an excellent Bit Coin arcade game. I want to work with the graphics and I think it would be one of the shoot'em ups which places in standard fashion, but there can be improvements to which type of movements are possible by the ship and a better design of the capabilities of the ship with impeccable controls. Create a need to have serious strategy when flying the ship, and make it a game which needs to be streamed and played or perfected at home before you go to the arcade to post your score.
I do remember Sol-Deace's SEGA CD counterpart Sol-Feace (which without fail makes me think of the AVGN joke, you'll have to look that one up on your own) not as familiar with the cart version, but seems mostly identical minus the FMV and CD music? Definitely not going to dethrone Gradius, but not a terrible shmup by any means. Not as well versed about el viento but seems like a fun action-platformer which has its own cinematic universe of sorts with the 'earnest evans' games?! shame they haven't gotten some kinda revival but this cart re-release will suffice.

wow that was quick after the announcement yesterday. In regards to Sol Deace, never understood why they renamed it Sol Feace for Sega CD
Definitely worth it, especially for El Viento. Game has gotten $$$ over the last couple of years. I have a loose Sol Deace, but I'm grabbing this one, too. These fully licensed reprint carts are fantastic on the Genesis, like the Toaplan and Gaiares reissues from the last couple of years.
Wow! I had Sol-Feace for Mega CD. I never knew Sol-Deace existed!😮 I remember being a bit unimpressed with the graphics and now I see that the mega drive version is practically the same. The music on CD though..🤤
Retro-bit is incredible, I got every Genesis re-release from them and this will be no exception. I really hope they manage to bring Musha back as the current market price is way too high and prevent many of us from owning a great game like that.
To be honest, Sol-Feace was the original name. Why did they go with Sol-Deace for the localized version in NA and EU?
Motoi Sakuraba is one of my favorite composers and his early work is fantastic. I wish El Viento had a red book audio soundtrack in the same vein of Earnest Evans.
Because "Feace" sounds too close to "Feces". Now that "Deace" is much better 😂
I missed the Astro City mini V last time, so I've pre-ordered one. Now if we can convince Konami to re-release the TurboGrafx/PC Engine mini. Or a new version fixing the power issue of the original. That'd be great.

I didnt expect Wolf team games to get re released, im glad they decided to make a release of el viento, i wanted to get a copy of it for awhile but both the japan and us copies are pretty rare. Sol deace seems like a good game too, might even buy it too like el viento!
It would be funny to see earnest evans as an april fools rerelease, the game is mostly bad but I'd say it has some charm and like most wolfteam games, it has an great OST.
Kinda sad at no Sega CD Sol-Feace relese. An amazing version.
I like that these games are being rereleased.
However I will not get them myself. I got the Renovation 1 cart for the evercade that comes with all of these games.

until today, i have no idea why SOUL DEACE (that's what i call it) sega cd edition is released on modern consoles , i mean i want to try that game, legit and in sega cd form, i don't know the game got so much hate back then, as a nintendo kid, i always wanted to play it.
Is there a lot of differences between sol-deace and sol-feace, gameplay wise? I know there is a cd soundtrack and small cutscenes but is there any difference between the games otherwise?

Those were the original batch and are nearly gone. The new batch is meant for wide distribution to be sold at other retail outlets like Amazon and brick and mortars.
@SegaLordX oh, I see. I haven't read about that. Well, that's cool. I how that includes the controllers. I had to import two controllers and I'm hoping to get the arcade pad.
Has anyone bought any of these games? I purchased both in July, and as of December, there's still no information about the shipping.

The SEGA Genesis has some really great Shmups. But Sol Deace is not a good Shoot 'em up by any definition. The SEGA Genesis has a lot better. But the music is pretty good. The music is still better on the Sol Feace. Both of these games I really want to like, but when I play them they just don't do it for me. If they do it for you, then that's great. I've never played the game El Viento. But I heard it's good, it's also very expensive.
Is there any reason these games aren't released digitally?
I thought it was Sol-Feace with an F not a D. I played it on Sega CD as a kid and I could have sworn it was Feace.
Edit: I just checked Wikipedia and they call the game Sol-Feace with an F.
On Genesis, it was Sol-Deace.

I called it Sol-Feces back in the day and it came with my model 1 Sega CD back in the early 90's! It had an excellent CD soundtrack by the way!

I don't get the current hype behind El Viento at all, never enjoyed that one. The bosses are so unfair.
Oh these techno soundtracks on Genesis... some people love it. Personaly i'm not a fan.
