Weekdays I do 10-20 miles daily mainly in city and I could charge my car every day at work then for the weekend for longer routes would use the petrol engine. Is it sounds good, what really should I look at the car before I buy it or any chance to check the battery life roughly?

    Just traded in my 320d efficientdynamics to a 2018 330e sport and I absolutely love it. Power is there when you need it. And the economy is fantastic.
    It definitely rides higher because of the added weight and firmer suspension to take that extra weight. But in comfort mode and the seats are quite comfortable you don't really notice it too much. Just avoid pot holes lol.
    Definitely well built. Engine is very smooth and can tell build quality was paramount.
    Definitely would recommend one.

      Looking to make the exact same upgrade, 320Da (efficient dynamics) to a newer f30 or g20 330e, did you notice a differwnce in the fuel consumption? Any other differences youve noticed? :)

    • @garykimber1989
      @garykimber1989 Před rokem +5

      @@prodKossi you will notice the difference in fuel tanks. The 330e has such a small tank. It will say 300 miles range from full. Where as my 320d said 600. But if you utilise the battery. I charge every night and you will easily notice a difference in the frequency you need to fill up as opposed to the non hybrid.
      And with kinetic charge you can recoup range pretty well.
      It's definitely heavier car. But it's very well balanced so once you are comfortable you can still stick it into corners.
      It rides higher but I like that. More confident in puddles. But it doesn't roll like you'd expect from a higher car.
      And the acceleration from a car that is nearly 2 ton is just insane. So much fun. And the power makes overtaking much quicker. The 320d had immense torque and this tops that with the added grunt.
      I've now done 5000 miles and I absolutely love it. And I've notice the save in terms of money. It's just really comfortable and smooth to drive. And when you want some fun. Sports + then fly. Highly recommended 330e BMW for for the petrol head that wants to go a little bit greener lol.

      @@garykimber1989what type of range do you get from full a tank ?

    • @garykimber1989
      @garykimber1989 Před rokem +1

      @MADBOOLJDM123 about 350 miles small petrol tank (40l) to accommodate the batteries.
      Electric will get you another 25/30 miles on full charge with hybrid driving and regeneration.
      But my range extends all the time. I'm currently doing 57 mpg average and I have abit of a heavy foot on motorway.
      It regenerates battery quite quickly through normal coasting and breaking.

Don’t want it sent to fantom heard many get the ecu back destroyed. And in same case they dident get it back at all. And the company don answer or pay for a new ecu. I can get over 400hp with that tuning. Did just bought the car. Gone have it for 8 years. Is it safe to tune? The car is the best I ever owned in my entire life. It’s amazing from 0 to 100 but after that it lose a lot. From 100 to 200 it take 20 sec. After the tuning it take under 9 sec. But what do u all think. Worth it and can I get any problems from the motor in the long term?

Aux batt replaced twice ($750 each) but second was free replace because it failed within warranty or last replacement. KLE converter stopped functioning. $4500 fix. AC just stopped working, getting it diagnosed next week. So far, tons of money out of pocket. Drives well when it works but for me it’s been a money pit.

I was thinking tí sell it but with so few miles On the engine i think its worth it to keep it and even if at a certain point the batteries are completely dead I Will still have a new engine to move with haha.

    Just took a chance on a 2017 330e with, wait for it………301,000kms on it. Sure, that’s getting up there, but my last car, a Nissan, lasted 550,000kms (510,000 of those being mine) and 18 years, still mechanically great but rusting out and parts impossible to find. So looked around, test drove the i4 and 330e models, loved the i4 but couldn’t quite commit to all electric range anxiety, or justify the costs of finance, interest rates so high!
    This is my first hybrid, my first BMW and my first car with all the electronics of navigation etc. I commute 70km each way so high miles is just normal. Going in eyes wide open to maintenance needs, we also race vintage historic TVRs so cars are always getting something done. This new old BMW, its first 5 years it was classed as commercial (probably Uber going by the wear in the rear seat leather) and serviced regularly, the last 2 years a bit more dubious after it went through two auto auctions. Still, I am very excited about it, it just drives nice, battery holds charge, it makes for a confident test drive. First priority will be getting it home the day after tomorrow (tomorrow is a holiday else I’d be up there sooner!), a 250km journey home on back roads which should reveal any problems - my husband will be on standby with his trailer (!), then taking care of fluid changes and a mechanical review/plan for taking care of things long term. Oh, what did I pay? All in, sticker price plus taxes and fees, before trade in - CAD$10,000.

    Buy 330e, do a battery delete and you got yourself a normal 330 with (hybrid) in the name :D

      there were 2 service interventions, one for 1 module and after 2 months another service intervention for the rest of 4 modules
      it would have been cheaper if they replaced all 5 in one shot ..

    It's the B46 engine, from the 320i, not from the 330i my man.

    • @AJDrives
      @AJDrives  Před 2 lety

      The BMW B46 and B48 are basically the same engine, The B46 is a SULEV engine, and is the primary engine available in the US. In Malaysia where this video is shot, The 320i, 330e, and 330i all come with the B48 engine.
      But yes, my mistake. The 330e engine is tuned similarly to the 320i not the 330i. Thank you for bringing that up 🙏🏼
