Wrong if u put in neutral open bonnet and engine will stay on all the time in any mode. Car is actually smart. And if u drive in manual mode car will run on pure petrol no hybrid no start stops nothing only gas

I can attest to this, got a 2005 523i has like 200 000 something kilometers on it, engine has never been rebuilt or taken apart, and I literally do digs everytime I'm at a red light, car takes care of me so I take care of car😁 Edit: 🤣it's also got the notorious N52 they claim was so poorly built, other than the heat coming from it, I got no complains

I bought a 2016 330e I would say avoid this like the plague. It’s really common for the KLE to go which will stop your car from charging via HV cable. The real world MPG is trash. I would say just stick with the non hybrid options as you will get waaay better fuel consumption. The 330e has a 400lbs battery in the back so it feels like a whale in the corners, and in braking. Honestly just avoid and save yourself the headache

I drove a BMW 325i, now driving a Camry. BMW if you like better handling and have time to go to workshop. Camry if you want peace of mind and comfort. Both are great at their own ways.
