    Well done. 👍

    Not putting the shell on the cable first... It happens to all of us at least once! 😅

      Very true! Worst when you make waterproofed connector and add silicone glue... don't ask how i know :D

    hi, what is the difference between this cable and a ready Ethernet cable with Rj45 plugs? is the pin assignment different?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před rokem +2

      None - self made cable You can get to exactly demanded length or You can drill hole, put cable & add plug. If You don't need those? Just get regular unshielded straight ethernet cable and it will work perfect.

    so all the wires are 1 on 1 , nothing is crossed.. itsnt this exactly the same as any standard of the shelf ethernet cable then?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před rokem +1

      Yes - straight 1:1 cable - can be used off shelf without any problems.

      @@ElectronicNoobBlog then no need to make cables. a ready 1:1 cable doesn't cost so much

    hi, then the VE.CAN cable between the MPPT and CerboGX is a 568A or 568B, cable. 1:1 ?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před rokem +1

      1:1 straight cable - wiring standard is just personal preference.

    Can I use standard ready made ethernet cables? If they are straight connection.

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před 11 měsíci

      Sure. What we make on video is just regular straight Ethernet cable. Same way I done my network.

    Nice ! Very helpfull ! QUESTION : How do you make BMS CAN BUS cable. ?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před rokem

      I won't be able to help You - I never make it myself (yet). In general Victron is upfront with schematic so I'm sure You can find documentation that state pinout and technical requirement.

    Where do you buy those crimpers? looks really nice!

      Sorry that I missed out Your question, I just grab them online - those are not expensive ones - but slightly better than bottom line. It's nothing fancy that is worth recommending - I'm sure they came in different colors and it's just chines AliExress stuff.

    Can you make your own terminators too?

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před rokem +1

      Sure it's just resistor in plug. I believe pin-out and resistance was in Victron documentation for VE.Bus protocol.

  • @johnplyler7054
    @johnplyler7054 Před rokem

    How about a video on how to build a terminator

    • @ElectronicNoobBlog
      @ElectronicNoobBlog  Před rokem

      I can make video like this but it won't be soon - building my solar system is on hold. Just open PDF manual for VE.BUS protocol, there will be information what pins to terminate, buy resistor that correspond with that value, insert it into RJ45 plug and crimp - You are done. If You have problem with it - ask virtually ANY Victron dealer who is installing VE stuff - they will have bunch of them laying around (if you chain multiple devices you don't use them in between and with each device you get them so they are always surplus).

    You said you use RJ47 plugs. Isn't it RJ45 instead?

    Thank you so much for showing us, I followed exactly your instructions and voila', two cables of the exact length for my Victron Photovoltaic system are done 😉 And here is the proof czcams.com/video/OMVMWTkvzew/video.html
