Anthony Frank Gaggi (August 7, 1925 -- April 17, 1988) also known as "Nino", was a Capo in the Gambino Crime Family, one of the five families ruling the New York underworld. He also supervised the infamous DeMeo crew, headed by Roy DeMeo and was a mentor to his nephew, who later turned government witness, Dominick Montiglio.
The sound on this video was narrated from inside a shinebox.
Lol!...
😂😂😂😭
Haha!! Good one.. now go get your fucking shine box!!!
Yeah now go get the fuckin thing
Why is it that all monsters start out shining shoes lol 😆
I can’t get enough of these stories. It’s just INSANE man. INSANEE
They are all pretty similar though
Same here
INSANEE...da best!
INSANEO STYLE
Every society worldwide has its men at it.
This dude is a real-deal gangster. Most ppl have never heard of him - he ran shit from the shadows and killed members of his own crew without hesitation.
Everyone has heard of him. You just don’t know shit lol
A real charmer!
gotta love the heart-touching phrase.. "1957 was a tough year for the young mobster...."
😅
Literally was reading this as he was saying it.
I lived next door to Anthony Casso Mill Basin home and I tell you he kept our neighborhood safe
That doesn’t surprise me at all.
@@yankees29 these guys were hard working gentlemen keeping there neighbor hood clean and safe but yet destroying other neighborhoods all in all there like government officials funding there neighbor hoods but yet allowing other parts go to shit I guess as the saying goes humans are not perfect
So did burt kaplan end up kicking the kids out.Wasnt cassos son or somebody related staying there
I use to see sammy the bull come to cassos house he drove a continental
When young Nino was at his father's barbershop, he made your shoes look like fuggin mirrors.

Nino should go get his fucking shine box.
@@simonmadi1177 would loved to have seen someone say that to his face :D.
Maybe you haven't heard , no more shines !
Stupid joke idiot. .

yeah ive thought about that. i mean, even if youre making a lot of money, is it even worth it? having to constantly worry about getting killed or arrested. i wouldnt be able to enjoy it.
And if you make it to the boss, you’re even more of a target. It never ends..you’re always the predator and the prey..
Disney presents a film By Martin Scorsese...Finding Nino
Lol
Thats a good one lol
😭😭😭😭😭😭
Starring Johnny Depp as Nino Gaggi…
Ba dum tss
He mentored the deadliest monster of that era. The crew made Big Paul untouchable. No one crossed the Gambino family. After Paul got busted over Roy’s racket he had Roy killed and that emboldened Gotti. From all accounts Gotti feared Demeo and his crew.
Yeah, Gotti didn't fear Castellano anymore, Roy kept people in check. Without Roy, Castellano lost his best hitman.
@@KingDanny9 exactly, the Gambinos were untouchable with Roy’s crew.
I love all of these stories !!
Thank you for your hard work putting these stories together .
NINO GAGGI...... HARDCORE MOBSTER NO DOUBT
Lonnie Mcguire I would agree. Have you read murder machine?
Bloodletters & Badmen beans
I read "MURDER MACHINE" from cover to cover and Nino Gaggi was the real deal straight GANGSTER!!!!!
I read that in jail once upon a time. Good read! I noticed they dont talk about the iceman in it at all...interesting
eating pizza with blood soaked hands.did kuklinski kill roy?
spen Moore Gemini twins killed roy
No shit
@@TheRealEMURSE they said the ice man lied a lot like saying he was involved in the castallano hit and he wasn’t

I enjoy all your videos very much!
Thank you for all your efforts
I once told nino to go home and get his fuckin shine box. He did, he was good. He made my shoes look like mirrors.

Thank you! 👍🏼

Great channel, awesome presentation. tY for your contributions.
All these videos on this channel are on point very well done
Joe Mugga AGREED
Bloodletters voice is about perfect
Can not get enough of these s storyies
Robert Davi played a terrifying version of this guy in the movie The Iceman.
A movie should be made about the DeMeo crew.
Facts
I agree and maybe call it "The Gemini Method" or "The Gemini Lounge" perfect!
Well I mean the Iceman features the DeMeo crew
Alot of killers were scared of that crew. Legend has it the walls of the apartment where they brought their victims was pockmarked with bulletholes. They were psychotic,no doubt.
They enjoyed killing. It was more than just business, it became a sick habit.
“Jimmy what are doing in the cupboard?”
“Don’t come in ma I’m recording my mafia documentary!”
This is my new favorite channel. Well Done every story.👍
There was one flaw that cost Nino dearly-his belief that "Keep 'em down and keep 'em starving" is a good idea for underlings. I don't understand how anyone could think that would keep someone loyal.
Flint Ironstag because if you give someone too much power, it wont be long before they want what the boss has, and takes them out!
Fine line really. They are so control hungry. If you pay too little..revolt..if you pay to much..they don't need you..and revolt
Keep em down and keep em struggling sounds like the mantra of the democratic party
@You heard? how did you come up with the assumption of me being poor based off of what I said? That's the real question. You're 0 for 2 so far in your assumptions. Care to make another one and strike out completely?
@You heard? lol, not in the slightest. But now you've struck out. But good try with your generalizations. Don't worry, if you keep trying, you're bound to be right one of these days 😃
I live by Casablanca in queens where joe Messina ran his operation. Would love to learn more about what his family did in the neighborhood I grew up in.
Gaggi with the likes of Demeo, senter, testa and Rosenberg under his direct reporting line had 1 helluva job reigning in this tough crew....must've been one arduous task keeping their bloodlust in check incase they mutinied
None of the bosses liked Roy DeMeo to begin with. They never wanted him made.
@@yankees29 for real he was a bloodthirsty murderer and wouldn't stop he brought down way to much heat so they took his ass out
GOOD INFO I LOVE READ ABOUT THE MOB AN WATCHING DOCS ABOUT THEM
I dig your mob bios....they have some info I haven't heard from their other documentarys. Appreciate you taking the time to make these.
I'd love to see one on Tony Mirra. He was basically the one who brought around Joe Pistone into the Bonanno family right? Ok, so we see Sonny Black bios.. Ruggieroo bios... lots of info online about the "three capos murders"...Sonny Red...All those guys referenced in the movie Donny Brasco as well... But one important person is NEVER mentioned in the film, or anything. Tony freakin Mirra! His wiki page makes him seem like a very interesting/ruthless wiseguy. Rumor has it he banged/dated Goldie Hawn back when she was a dancer who got around.
im pretty sure he has one on tony mirra
Mirra was a jerk
Nobody in the family liked him
Vincent Squillante.... dude was born to be Goverment Informant
Ahahaha, his name squillante, u right bro
Brilliant!
Thank you.
Can't get enough of your great channel.
I picked up a guy like this in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I drop him off at the Bagel king on North Main st. I had to bring the cab back in, I quit that day. No more Bridgeport cab driving for me.
Awesome to get some real history.. thank you
Had this man been in gottis shoes they’d have never been taken down
Nino was the definition of a stone gangster
ZULU MATUBU is huh? You’re aware he’s dead, right?
Surprised they never made a film about Roy DeMeo's life, although the "Iceman" which was released in 2013 has Ray Liotta play him but it focuses on another hitman called Richard Kuklinski.
You do realize kuklinski is a proven liar, yes a killer but he never really worked for the mob say all ex mobsters and law enforcement.
It has been proven that he wasn't even in the area on certain hits he claimed credit for.
A serial killer yes but no mob hitman, look it up if you doubt me
@GENESIS he was a killer, for anyone who paid him, he was on a crime show called, American monster, a couple yrs ago
@GENESIS there's no actual evidence that he knew demeo. and demeo didn't need to pay anyone. he had the demeo crew.
My dads friend Jay Gianonne plays the cop in that movie that arrested Kuklinski
i would love to see one of these documentry about aniello dellacrose
ak pepper we already did one. it was one of our first. it is on this youtube channel.
@ZULU MATUBU Bet you wouldn't say that to his face if he were still alive, would you?
It's several already out
He was a bad mofo and loyal to the end even when Don Carlo didn't put him in the chair as the capo di tutti capi
Me too!!!!!!
Carlo Gambino and Bannano Will go down in history as the greats because their reign was before the Rico act and they had a strangle hold on j Edgar Hoover cause of his homosexual activity. #facts.
+Meezy Strongway Bonanno out lasted them all.
Wrong, Tony "Big Tuna" Acardo- Personal driver for Al Capone- rose in the ranks of the "Chicago Outfit" to #1 never spent a night in jail. Retired to become advisor to the Outfit.
Sonny Wright I believe we were speaking of the 5 families.
Bloodletters & Badmen sorry my bad
Sonny Wright No problemo
I like it all of these mob documentaries because it's real.
This Kid “Nino” would make your shoes look like Fucking Mirrors!
I just finished reading Murder Machine. The Roy DeMeo crew were a sick bunch.
@ZULU MATUBU Live by the gun, die by the gun.
do you have anything on Chuck Delmonico the mobster
The Gemini lounge is a church now, same facade but a church now
I know thanks man best mob information in my opinion on the website . No doubts all facts no bullshit
It's NINOooooooooo! I knew it from the pictures of him 'cleaning'......out a safe 😊
If u think about it once Nino went down the family starting going down he was the brains of many many operations ad kept a lot of guys ad police in check was extremely feared ad ate slept ad shit Cosa nostra w o him many things would have went to shit he tiped off Paul on anything and everything ad was basically his right hand man
I really like your factual style
Awesome videos Bud. Do you have, or are you planning, a video on Vito Rizzuto? He was Canada's top mob boss.
Thank you!!!
You're Welcome.
Do a segment on Billy Batts up to his murder!
There isn't much to Billy Batts
@Belloo In Tears lol
He’ll make your shoes look like fucking mirrors

Here's a summary..batts talked shit he should have got away with but didn't. Batts died of natural causes. Lol
Imagine if goodfellas was the story of Dominique Montiglio growing up in the mob. Just as easily could've been. With Dom, he actually gets made. If Scorsese did it, it would be a masterpiece. No doubt. What if?
There’s a book out called Murder Machine it’s about Doms life growing up it’s really good if you’re into this kind of stuff
@@tsp988 thank you. I'm going to read that now.
I agree with that. Henry Hill wasn't made or did he kill anyone. You know gaggy's very underrated and I honestly believe there should be a movie made of him cuz his life was f****** amazing

3:38 Carlo Gambino,, the boss of the most powerful Mafia family in New York, looks like a harmless, sweet older gentleman at 5'6". What a trip!
@Yo Lo
RE: "Carlo Gambino,, the boss of the most powerful Mafia family in New York, looks like a harmless, sweet older gentleman at 5'6"."
Remember that Carlo Gambino, conspiring with Vito Genovese, bacame a boss in the first place by killing Albert Anastatia, his own former boss.
We need more videos!
You have to be in the mob with a name like that
Nino Gaggi held the leash of Roy DeMeo, whom led a crew of car thieves (to occupy their spare time), as well as the most notorious band of bloodthirsty murderers that made Murder Incorporated look like Sunday School... It was their killing talents that kept the heat off them during all of the he 70s and the early 80s, as their services were sought after by not only their own family, the Gambinos, but by ANY family within the Commission's realm (including the rest of the United States and their territories) that HAD a definite "problem", and were prepared to pay for a definite "solution"! When all the DeMeo/Gemini Crew's actions started attracting the attention of the Federal, State, and local authorities, it was time for Big Paul Castellano to shut DeMeo and the Gemini Crew down! I don't care if the present building where the Gemini Lounge was, is a church, and HAS been one for over the last 20 years, that place is still THE most notorious mob slaughterhouse and mortuary in all of the City of New York!
And the church can and will never be able to sing and pray away the sins committed there .
What cemetery is Nino Gaggi buried at if you know please let me know because I've been looking for some time now
one of my favorite gangsters
The mugshot...this guy is no joke
👑👑 CARLOS GAMBINO HELLO HD
been watching everthing u been posting. I need some of that stuff ur giving away for my game room
+TINKYSTEELE :) We have more give aways coming up:)
It's odd that when these gangsters reach a certain level. That they would think I have enough cash etc and start slowing down. And maybe retire. But..
I've often wonder the same thing. It appears they can't escape the life. Also, many squander the money blowing it gambling and on other things. I was reading about Joe Bonanno last night how, even as a young man, he was faithful to his wife and children, didn't go out gambling, and always invested his money in legitimate businesses. He was there when the modern-day five families came into existences and he outlived them all dying at the age of 97 in 2002. He may have been smarter than most.
@Roger B They came here with nothing and couldnt really get a job or move up. Not saying that is the reason, but its part of it anyway.
One problem with that ,, is you can't retire from the mob the more you earn the respect you got .
Interesting to find out about history and families.
Damn!!...CAN WE GET SOME VOLUME!!!!
For me he was a true gangster no fucking fanfare dark shades and leather jacket the man had it.
LOL yeah Nino definitely looked the part
Nino Gaggi name soo catchy
5:45 - “Gubanero was killed as a revenge by Gaggi over an altercation they had earlier...”. So much for “in our day we’d shake hands after a fight and everything was ok between us...”!!
What I find interesting about the Gambinos is that they were divided into basically 2 factions...The Manhattan and Brooklyn factions...Big Paul Castellano needed Nino Gaggi and the Demeo crew of killers as a deterrent to the Manhattan faction...I did read that John Gotti was hesitant in getting involved with any beef with Roy Demeo...whose 100 plus murders dwarfed his 13 or so...
Johnny Panapa I've read even Castellano was scared of DeMeo.
He must've been a hardcore bad ass psychotic nutcase.
Everyone was scared of him or so it see you.
Or so it seems*
Theo Weath DeMeo did have a certain menace which you can see in his famous mug shot.
All families had factions spread throughout the cities
@@Gl6619 There really are not many pictures of Roy DeMeo from what i understand. Although i have seen some home movies i think there are not very many pictures of him.
@Bloodletters & Badmen
How about doing a video on Russell Bufalino, the mob boss of Northeastern Pennsylvania, whom I had never heard of until I saw the movie "The Irishman" and read the book from which it was adapted "I Heard You Paint Houses."
awesome MAN
Idk how they haven't made a movie about the Gemini crew already. Murder Machine and Gaspipes books were incredible. Unfortunately, I haven't read Sammy's Underboss yet. Murder Machine though was surreal, like,a solar eclipse, how did all these killers all find each other. Roy Demeo was straight up psycho.
I would love to hear all these wiretaps on mob guys
***** Thanks, but I meant the taps on Gaggi and the Demeo crew. And the famous tap where Gene G. made it clear that John was weary of executing the contract on Demeo
***** All good
I have listened to it from somewhere... it was very rare, i forgot where.. it might have been Genie Gotti talking to Angelo Ruggiero or someone...
You would be bored to tears in the first half hour.
Most of the time you would hear variations of the word fuck
I think he meant to say "hear us beg" at the end of the video not "here us beg". That's what I've gained from this video.
Bloodletters is the best Can read it forever
+Peter Taliercio I have! Thanks for watching.
I was good friends with Nino when we were young lads,we went our seperate ways .great guy, very good heart
ADONIS LEONIDAS FLYERS/EAGLES/76ers yeh, salt of the earth
Lol if you’re gonna make up a bullshit story you want people to believe pick a mobster who wouldn’t be like fuckin 95 if he was still alive today
at 4:30 in the video, what did DeMeo do with the Lucchese family? I didn't know he had connections with them. I know Casso had called him in the past to dispose of bodies bit i didn't know DeMeo had early connections with the Lucchese crew
That's where Roy met Freddie Danome, who was invoved with the Lucchese Family. Roy began stealing cars with Danome's help. Neither were 'claimed' by the Lucchese family, so Roy wound up with Nino and the Gambinos.
I believe he had some involvement with some of Vario's people in the Brooklyn chop shops before metting Gaggi and being claimed by the Gambinos.
Very good bio's. All info that you have provided is accurate. Good work. Do you have anything on Tommy Agro? Maybe something on the Piccolo brothers out of Philly? Thank you.

Like many mobsters he started at the bottom of the chain. Making shoes shine. It's very important to have shiny shoes when you're a mobster. The shinier they are, the more baddass you were and the more power you had.
That's retarded

Interesting documentary! Does anyone know if James Eppolito, Sr. and Jr. were related to Lou Eppolito, the so-called 'Mafia cop' who allegedly had ties with the Lucchese crime family? I assume Eppolito might be a rather common name, but I was wondering if there was a family connection. I also noticed a Joseph Testa--any relation to Phil 'Chicken Man' Testa and his son Salvie out of Philadelphia?
Lou Eppolito's uncle was James Sr. You were, correct they were related. Phil Testa COULD be related to Joey but it's a long shot, I highly doubt it, Testa is not very uncommon as a last name.
I killed DeMeo...AND Kuklinkski...as he was about to rat on Sammy the Bull
DarlingNikki2 ... Joey Tests had a brother Patty who was a Lucchese family captain.
Yes they where related
He should hurry up someone else might want to get in to make a phone call!
