Here I am, in 2020, having just discovered SCD, binge-watching Danny and Oti and muttering "We were robbed" in the most outraged voice I can summon.
We agree, he was the best Celebrity ever. This was the best quickstep ever.

The best ever dancers on strictly👌🏽 no one can top Danny and Oti. They deserved to win, for me they are the TRUE WINNERS🏆
How this didn't get a 10 is baffling...
tbf, I think they either consciously or sub-consciously factor into it how much prior training they've had, and Danny's definitely had a lot more than Ore has. And given they knew "the best dance always goes last" they were keeping their powder dry.
Sometimes the best dance doesn't go last, Ore's Jive was brilliant - but there have been better Jives. Alesha Dixon, Jill Halfpenny, Scott Maslen and Jay McGuiness all did better Jives than Ore. And I can't wait to see Danny's Jive, I know it will be epic.
phoebephoebo .sydney I think that's so unfair. If you're gonna score someone lower just because they've had some dance training before then why ask them on the show at all? The dances should be each judged as if the judges don't know these people. And I think it would be a good idea to do the scoring before getting the judges comments so the judges can back up why they gave that score. Like ok judges you gave 9s what did Danny do wrong so he can work towards that ten. Not the judges singing your praises and then when you get upstairs and you wonder why you're not getting g perfect scores then
@@scattygirl1 , Well if, that were true they would have been handicapping Louise much more than Danny because Louise had MUCH more dance training than Danny who was in the DRAMA concentration in stage school and never had to do any dancing to speak of when he was on the West End, either. He played the street urchin, Gavroche as a child. Gavroche has tough "playground" type skills - not dance skills.
He was penalised because they spent 30 seconds faffing about at the beginning and only did 1 min quickstep.
I will say it till I die. Danny and Oti were robbed of the Glitter Ball. They were exciting to watch, perfectly matched, and both really enjoyed dancing. Danny had sway and a lot of charisma on the floor, his top line was superb. They should have won.
Danny definitely deserved a couple of 10's. Magical dancing.
This was BLOODY BRILLIANT! I loved it SO much. Plus loved how all his footing was so synchronised with Oti's. PURE CLASS.
I loved Ore. But if that deserved 10s then this really did as well.
ScarecrowHuggins that jive did not deserve a 10. I didn't think it was bad but it was not this quickstep. like the chemistry wasn't there. the guy looked uncomfortable and as a dancer myself, I rather have two partners with high compatibility and energy than someone who is uncomfortable on stage. once you feel awkward the whole routine is just that. The jive was not as good as this.
Nah, I thought they were pretty level with each other... also, Len's comment about Ore's being 'better than Jay' seemed over the top but I went back and watched Jay's jive - and those parts that sent chills through me with Jay's, seemed to be replicated the whole way through the dance with Ore's.
I don't like the scoring system at all, though. Two of the judge's gave Ed Balls' dance a 5. If they score that dance a 5, then they're not really scoring any dance out of ten. (Insert 7/10 IGLen meme here...)

Either Dan is the ringeriest ringer who ever rang, or he's a pure natural like Gilles Marini was. This is one of the best Quicksteps I have EVER seen. He's got this, period!

Perfect pairing, so smooth and crisp. It looks like 2 professionals. How they didn't get at least 1 10 I don't know. Oti's choreography 😍😍

iluvsoulmusic Omg I am actually so annoyed! It was a flawless quick step and sooo polished. It was exceptional and yet they give Ore 3 10's?! When IMO it did not touch Danny and Oti's routine! Whey do they keep underscoring him??? It seems they did this with Jay last year too, but in Danny's defence he is proving to be a better dancer than Jay. I do hope they don't give him the same treatment. Even some of the comments on Facebook seemed baffled as to why he didn't get any 10s when he 100% deserved to and even shared our thoughts that his was the dance of the night. It seems the judges comments completely contradict their scores.
iluvsoulmusic TBH Danny's dance last week was deserved of 10s too, but they held back again, like they did with Jay last year since it was 'only week 3'. SMH who cares what week it is, if a dance is technically perfect and you cannot find any faults with it then give it the damn score it deserves!! If he doesn't get any 10s by next week I'm going to be majorly pissed off lol and I was really hoping he'd be the first to get a 10. It seems like some people know what the judges are up to and how they are trying hard to force some stiff competition into the mix (even though Danny is clearly the best dancer in the competition) and have been saying they tried to do this in previous years with Jay and Harry Judd too. Why deliberately underscore the best dancer?! This will only aggravate and motivate the viewers to vote for him even more I guess. Just watched Ores dance again and whilst it was good Danny's was no doubt better.

Now Ore & Joanne's jive was fab but this was joyous. Look at how in sync they are at 1:22. So dope!

Surely you should have been singing to Gru at the other side of town and not his minions, me and my daughter and kids???? I think Peter Coffin got the story a bit skew wiff????

Fantastic dance. Danny & Oti should have been the top scoring dance of the night. And honestly, to compare Ore's jive to Jays is ridiculous. No comparison. Jay and Alionas jive was on another level. Best dance EVER on Strictly. Sublime.

Amazing quick step! Fluid, smooth and sway, this couple are wonderful, they enjoy the dances, I particularly love the fun element of Otis choreography, she makes it light and enjoyable. If they continue like this, They should win.
This is making me miss those old black and white movies. So classy and beautiful. They look magnificent together. 💕♥️
I enjoyed both Ore's and Danny's dances but I firmly believe this should have scored the highest tonight. Just found this to be more technically and performance driven and just that little bit neater but hey- both were excellent!
Spectacular! I feel like I should be watching this with a champagne flute in my hand. It's everything a quickstep ought to be. That straight line sequence near the end... never mind, the whole dance is drenched in class. I give it an 11.
Danny really is such a darling, he's the whole package and shows so much zest for dance! And so lucky to have oti as his partner this year! I'm really rooting for them and no shade to ore but this was best dance of the night for me 💙

If Oti keeps this standard up, she's gonna be poached by DWTS. Unbelievable choreography and also brilliant performance by both of them. I love Louise and Daisy too but Danny should win.
A definite possibility. Every week she brings her A-game, splendid routine.
I hope to god DWTS don't try and take her. Her choreography is brilliant but wouldn't be appreciated enough on DWTS.

When I watch D'OTIs, I feel like Im in the WEST END, or on BROADWAY,.. unlike the rest who r in a dance competition. AVERAGE! They truly SHOWBIZ STARS.
Boy what a joy! You can sense he really enjoys this dance! I like the beginning bit when he's conducting and he still kept the top line elegant. Swing and sway (not easy for a male celeb to do), flies across the floor effortlessly, and truly leading Oti when in hold (and a beautiful ballroom hold). Much better than Jay's QS and it's a technically difficult routine and he nailed it. Well done! Definitely a 9.5 (maybe judges gave a cheeky ten, anyone?)...

I'm surprised Craig didn't pull his 10 paddle out because he outright called out Danny to watch out for Ore
At first I thought "well, it's week 4, they just don't give 10s in week 4, so I'm kind of ok with that, even if it's really unfair because there is nothing (imho) that they could have done better". But after Ore got 3 10s I really got angry. I don't say Ore's Jive wasn't good - it was very good - but no way was it better than this! At least they should have given the same scores for the two dances. After being so happy about this quickstep I'm now feeling sort of disappointed which is so wrong but I cannot help it. And it's just so unfair to Oti and Danny!

This must be the judges' attempt at 'tough love' scoring. Ore's jive was great, but was this amazing.
Oti's choreography is fantastic, which Danny handled perfectly. He so deserved some tens. He's just a natural - makes it look effortless. Enjoyed watching Ore as well, but it wasn't better than this; no way.
Rachel D Danny actually trained at ArtsEd in London which is one of the big theatre schools and he used to be in Wicked... From that I'm assuming he did the musical theatre course and so has dance training☺️ that being said, he is amazing but I think they're marking Ore higher as he's come from a non-dancing background? Idk though
iluvsoulmusic Yep I totally understand that, I'm just saying that surely it must be easier for someone who has had dance training to try a new style of dance than someone who hasn't come from a dance background at all? I'm not trying to take anything away from Danny by any means - I think that this is amazing! All I'm saying is that maybe that's why the judges are marking him more harshly than the others? Personally, I don't think that that's fair and this definitely deserved 10s but I'm just trying to see the other side of the story :)

Holy cow, how is it that Danny is *this* good? Almost thought Anton was dancing for a split second - easily a 9 but I wouldn't be too shocked to see a 10 but probably not.

Yea! Saw Ore's dance after this but only saw their scores after all the dances! Happy for Ore and Danny, but happier for Oti and Joanne to finally have contenders for partners! :D
Avilst trust me if anton was dancing it would have been 7s. He and Brendan have no energy or creativity anymore, too much great competition

Yeah, producers will be cheesy enough to connect Danny Mac's name to the song. And I can't WAIT to see Danny do all ballroom numbers, especially the American Smooth. But outside ballroom, I would like see him equal (or better!) Ore's score in his Jive and judging by the little Charleston tease in his QS, cant't WAIT to see Danny doing ten-worthy Charleston too...

This is still the perfect quickstep and I and a whole lots of people still thinks Danny and O ti should have won that year as they more thhan head and shoulders above the rest of the cast.

Danny is without doubt the best dancer this year. Ore is good, but I fear the judges were just wanting to stir some competition-otherwise Danny would be at the top week on week!
Me and my mum's opinions on scores:
Danny deserved a ten.
Daisy should've been way higher.
Ore was amazing!

After seeing the ITT interview and the training clips, I would say Danny will most likely SLAY the rumba with Oti this Saturday. His hip action (Tuesday training clip) is already really good and his lines were already quite accomplished. Just a little more polish will do, according to Ian Waite. I am having high hopes it will be the first dance that he scores some tens. Len might give one because he was guilty he didn't score him a ten in this QS (Oti admitted in ITT she was the one who made a mistake mid-dance, which might have made Len think it was Danny who forgot the routine, Bruno pointed out the mistakes but 'retracted' soon thereafter, and I am willing to wager that Darcey would fall in love with the balletic lines and tensions Danny already seems to be creating in his (Tuesday!) training...
So close yet so far! Yes, I agree with the judge Bruno, if Danny gets to the final, I want the judges to pick the rumba again because I am sure he'll then sort out the aggressiveness in the hand/arm actions to secure the elusive tens!
Just noticed this one. "Balletic lines"? Danny? Danny does West End hoofer. I'm enjoying his dancing more (especially after his extraordinary samba this week), but "balletic" is not a word I would ever use to describe his dancing.
I've now watched this about 10 times trying to figure out what would stop this from getting 10s, and if I'm being really picky he does have a tendency to go ever so slightly pigeon-toed. It's more noticeable from about the 1-minute mark, but it's there.
Don't get me wrong, I still feel they were undermarked in comparison to Ore, and I'm very much looking forward to the potential of an all-male final.

I would say Danny and Ore for sure but im not sure about any of the other men. MAAAYBE Judge Rinder or Greg but I wouldn't put money on that. I've been thinking the final four might be Danny, Ore, Daisy and Claudia.
Carlos Castro well with the fact Will's no longer in it we're more than likely looking at a 3 person finale. I reckon Greg will be the third, his progression and drive will potentially get him there.

This was better compared to Ore, have watched the jive several times and still don't really get what the fuss was about! Really furious with Craig for bringing up Danny in Ore's feedback, not fair whatsoever! GO TEAM DOTI!!
Not sure what the beginning was all about-half of Danny's solo was missed. The rest of it was phenomenal.
Tony Morris Oti was trying to fit the dance to the song. "I won't dance!", Danny 'says' when Oti does the Ballroom posture signifying, "You wanna dance?". So Oti lured him by stealing his baton and after Danny's attempt at grabbing the baton back, she locks him into a ballroom hold and off they went! I thought the choreography was playful, cheeky and beautiful! Yeah, maybe lost quite a few bars not in Ballroom hold but when they are in hold it was pure techniques, lines and figures and all that jazz and they danced together in sync and exquisitely. I can understand Len deducting one mark for 'faffing abhat' but I can't understand why Bruno didn't dish a ten for Danny, or Darcey for that matter (well Darcey seemed to allude also that Danny spent too much time out of hold in the beginning). But let's put things in perspective. In the beginning, we see Danny doing the pendulum and Charleston's steps, both basic figures in a QS and Oti is simply showcasing that Danny has that 'calm top busy bottom' characteristic with that solo bits in the beginning (she also cheekily flipped up Danny's coat tails to reveal his bum! lol). So, really, he was basically still dancing a QS even in the beginning...

In my opinion, they deserve an OSCAR., much less a 10 .SHOWBIZ performance
