- The GI tag is also known as the Geographical Indication tag. Geographical Indications is a sign provided to certain commodities or products based on their geographical locations which include the place of origin, region, town or country. The Darjeeling Tea is India’s first product to get the geographical indication tag. This tag is considered as a certification that includes whether the product is produced according to traditional methods and certain specific qualities which provides reputation based on geographical origins. This facilitates that no other authority other than authorised users are permitted to take the popular product name.

Hello sir, you said "GI ki koi expiry date nhi hoti" but in sec 18 there are duration period has been give that is 10 year.
So how can you say that it has no expiry date?

@@sakshishikha4109 Under section 18 of the said Act, It is stated that GI is valid for the period of 10 years and it can be renewed from time to time. Hence there is no expiry date.
