The second movie is called Daywatch,it's from a Russian book series.there are 4 or 5 books in the series.
I remember watching this back in the early noughties, live it. Glad to see a recap, cause it's been awhile lol

It had a sequel,and a third .. They are really awesome Russian movies ,that I have seen and have on dvd at home .. These are old ,like 15yrs old ,but really great movies ..
@@ldannu5627 no way, there's a third movie?! That's awesome! I've read all the books but have only seen night watch & day watch tho I didn't know of a third! I'd love to check it out if there is one - it's not listed on the series' wiki, would you happen to remember the name? Lukyanenko's world building is so immersive that seeing even a small part of it adapted to screen has been a total blast. 😊👍

thanks for recap. good movie. despite some similarities to other movies from it genre there are some unique aspects of the fantasy like
"entering the parallel realm" . very similar to constantine (2005) with keanu reeves.
Constantine movie came after.
I recommend reading the book series. The first book's plot actually got quite simplified in this movie. Still the movie is really enjoyable! And the recap covered it all :D
Constantine is actually ripping off this franchise so until Constantine came out 1 year later. What is everyone's obsession with Constantine anyway? It was shlt in 2005 its still shlt now. For some reason its getting a sequel if anything deserves a sequel its Day Watch as that genuinely was a good film

Constantine is a good character, but that film wasnt.
@@Stuart267 Also, Constantine was an Alan Moore character from the 80's, he is the night watch series of books are later and go off the rails after the 3rd book.
