    Im excited to have these on my Porsche 944 for the next driving season! Replacing the THIRTEEN year old Falkens that were on it. The Falkens were also a one season sport tire, im excited to see how a fresh set of rubber enhanced my driving experience

    I bought a set for my 2016 Fiesta ST. I have the 205/40-17 XL 84W. I wanted to get ATR Sport but, they weren't available. Man, these tires are awesome on wet roads where there is puddling. It took me a while to burn off the releasing agent but, now, they have set in quite well. I live in the Suncoast of Florida. I run 40 psi cold right now.

    Just but them on my Rover 220 Turbo a month ago, I have to say it now feels like a different car. The former owner had some really cheap, no-name tires on the car, so it was well worth the upgrade (the old tires needed to be replaced anyway). At first, i looked at semi-sliks, but in the end, i chose the Advan since they seemed to be more suited for daily driving. Not regretting my choice!

    The european tire label rates them as a straight A for wet grip, a C for fuel efficiency and the noise rating is 67db which also makes it an A in terms of noise.
    67 db is absurdly quiet for a performance tire usually on special EV tires optimized for noise get down to 67db.
    I cant imagine how dead silent these must be in real life because the Michelin Crossclimate 2 I have on my car now are 69db rated and they are already very quiet compared to other cars because people here dont know anything about tires or cars in general and buy tires as loud as 72-73db. I dont even know why its still legal to sell those.

    • @crustph
      @crustph  Před rokem +1

      I wouldn't call the Fleva V701 as "performance tires" rather its Sports tires. Not really built for the track but good for cars that have decent amount of power. It's not the most quiet tires either, the Dunlop Sportmaxx 050 still wins that one. As for noisier tires, it will always depend on the quality and the brand. Some people are okay with a little bit of noise as long as it fits the budget.

    Impressive video. Straight to the point and no bs. I'm stuck between this and the Toyo Proxes TR1. BTW how long did it last?

    • @crustph
      @crustph  Před rokem +1

      Appreciate it brother. Isnt Toyo Proxes TR1 the same as the Toyo DRB? Havent tried those yet tho hehe.. as for how long it lasts, if you daily it, it lasts around 3-4yrs easy. Do not try to autocross it, it will get destroyed immediately

  • @luckystrike656
    @luckystrike656 Před 2 měsíci +2

    The thing with tires is that you have to rely on tests and reviews. People reviews are often subject of the various tests. Tests often payed/sponsored by brands.
    The point is that one should have a chance to try out a tire or, if the price was lower, one could buy and replace if not satisfied.
    Otherwise you are stuck for a relatively long period with a tire that doesn't suit your needs.

    • @crustph
      @crustph  Před měsícem

      Precisely.. That is why we test these tires as honest as we can. We are not sponsored nor paid. We dont have equipment to test objectively, but we do our best to hit home and reach the threshold, then state our experience

    • @crustph
      @crustph  Před rokem +1

      This is true, tho some tires have the opposite characteristics like the Sailun ZSRs that are quiet on concrete, but noisy on asphalt. Cant have 'em all without breaking the bank I guess..

    • @crustph
      @crustph  Před rokem +1

      It cant compare to the PS4s especially if you track them from time to time. But the V701s are definitely great bang for your buck daily tires.

    Is it good for daily spirited drives and once to twice a yeartrack day? Really torn between the advan fleva and potenza re003. Currently on bfgoodrich advantage drive and just doesnt grip on abusive spirited drives.

    • @crustph
      @crustph  Před rokem +2

      As i mentioned in the video, I prefer the Advan Fleva. Admittedly the RE003 is grippier, but its one of the most "lazy" tires ive ever tried. The Advan Fleva feels balanced out of the box. Won't give you the best grip on track but it sure performs consistently and very predictable.

      In my experience they don't hydroplane so easily, quickly recovers as well from sudden wet spots. If you're the regular commuter driver type, the Flevas are one of the best tires to buy. If you're a track rat, look somewhere else lol

    Greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽… I’m coming from Bridgestone Turanzza 001 and I’m interested in acquiring this Yokohamas but how long did they last to you? My Bridgestone last 60 000 kms around 3 years I do speed at times but never been to track daya or so I have them on an Mk7 1.4t Golf…… Love to hear your feedback since I’m in the need for new tires and haven’t made my mind up yet…Gracias 🙏🏿
