On "My Car Story" we're at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles IL at the 28th Annual Indian Uprising All Pontiac Weekend on 8-10-18.
We're looking at a 1968 Pontiac GTO in Alpine Blue Paint. The car comes with a factory 400 CI engine.
The car's Owner is Bob Bruzek. Bob’s purchased this car new. He shares he’d served in the military in Vietnam and came back to the US, and received an offer for work. He needed a car for work, and he saw this car was in the Dealership, and when he saw and heard this car, he purchased it on the spot.

Hi David, Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-) You're welcome, Lou
Good job soldier! My Boot Camp sergeant asked me why I joined the Navy. I told him I wanted to get out of that one horse town and didn’t feel like driving a forklift in a Christmas card factory in January. My friend got out of the army and 73 and bought a Trans Am 455 in dark green (one year only color). Nice ‘Goat’!
Hi Curtis, Happy to read this car brings memories of your Friends Dark Green Trans Am :-) Thank you for viewing & sharing, Lou
I am the proud owner of a 68' GTO that I bought at 16 in 1992 for $4500. I still own it, its never looked better.

"Holy EPIC Stockin' feet KNOCKOUT😵, big brother Lou!" POW! SOCK! And perpetual JV baseball jock/Robin is KO'd, his balding head falls against his pillow (dreaming of chicks), his 150lb tubesocked stocking jock feet now limp as his floppy sneakers are flyin' to Illinois to be with you guys. And this EPICLY (is that a word? lol 🤣😜) awesome Pontiac GTO. That is 100% my reaction to this car, Lou. Hopefully Dad here will hang my sneakers on the rearview in one of these car shows-my boys would love that, man😜. Bob's story is just great and inspiring-a true American hero with clearly a big heart, how he loves and remembers his dear friend, takes care of his kids and wife. A moving story to go along with one of my favorite cars. Just a joy for me to watch your videos and hear back from you, too. Shows your heart and soul, big bro. Thanks, JV Johnny ⚾⚾
Hey JV Johnny, KAHHH POW! Happy to share this story with you :-) Glad to read this car is a favorite of yours. You're welcome, Lou
I did the interior on a 1968 at my buddies shop. It also had the hood tac, 400ci. Thanks guys, what a terrific and funnish automobile.
Hi gnewb e, Happy to read this reminds you of the car you worked on. Glad to read you enjoy this car. Me too, Lou

168,000 miles, he was just saying that when Lou asked a question but that is really important. Great color and another great video, thanks Lou.
Hi Rich, Happy to read you enjoy this episode :-) Lou
Thank you and all veterans for serving. Sweet car. My father bought a brand new 68 chevelle off the showroom floor when he came home from Vietnam, which is long since gone.
Thank you for viewing and sharing Maynard Reed :-)
After watching many of these, I get it now! The story/people are just as interesting to me as the car itself. Thanks for serving our country! I love the story. Thanks Lou, I finally got wise.
Hi zeevon9, Happy to read you're enjoying both the cars & the stories :-) You're welcome, Lou
This is a beautiful car. I have to admit that I'm partial to the models with the optional hidden headlights. Makes the front end look so much more elegant. It's a great "car story" to see a car that still owned by the original buyer. Love it.
Hi Kenneth White, The "hideaway's" are cool :-) I like that too, Lou
Very nice and thanks for serving our country. Hi Lou
Hi Ed B., Glad you enjoy this nice one :-) Lou
What an awesome individual. How often do you come across a car this old still in possession of the original owner?! Very rare. God bless him, wonderful car and such a down to earth disposition. Thank you sir for sharing this beautiful car and serving our country and thank you Lou for another outstanding video!
Hi jcnme27, High praise :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. You're welcome, Lou

My favorite year GTO's also.
If I had that car I would look at it for hours every day
I can understand how that would happen :-)
Same here
Beautiful Pontiac ! I have a customer that has a 67 Firebird convertible / California car . It still has all of the pollution attachments on the engine . I rebuilt the engine and we gutted the air pump and plugged a few holes to eliminate it . But visually it all looks original . He also has another 67 convertible that he bought new and it only has around 40,000 original miles , it wins shows frequently .
Hi ALABAMAHEADHUNTER, Glad you like the looks of this one, and thank for sharing your Customer has some cool cars too, Lou

Was there a long base version of this car?
Thank you for replying to me ✌️🏎️🚓🚗🚘
This was my favourite model year for the GTO. I love the shape of it, compared to the big box shaped earlier model.
I live in the UK and back in the 70's a guy who lived in our small town had a GTO Judge in dark metallic blue with a
white top and trunk spoiler. It really looked the business. Don't know what happened to the car, but I wish it was still
around the North East Street of Britain. I saw many US cars in our town back then, Corvettes, Mustangs, Pontiac T/A's
Olds Toronado's. Also an absolutely immaculate late 60's Buick Riviera, the one with hidden headlights. These cars
to a spotty teenager back then were Awesome. Especially, given the garbage we had for cars at the time.
Hi Gary Dunn, Glad to read we have a favourite of yours :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you'll enjoy, Lou

What a great story! It's amazing that he bought the car new and still has it 50 years later. The car is so beautiful! I looked up the paint codes for '68 GTO's, and I think the color is Nordic Blue. Thanks, Lou!

I am born in that year what wonderful time it was. Pontiac what wonderful cars. Never been that good again.
Sounds like good memories Andy Hanovera :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and I hope it gets that good again for you, Lou
Lou this car is just stunning. As a young man their was no cooler car on the road than a '68 GTO. The car was such a radical departure from the previous models that were also gorgeous but the new '68 model with the endura bumper was sooo cool. Was there ever a run of beautiful models as the GM A-bodys from '68-72?? My dad had a '68 Tempest Custom wagon which had similar front end styling (chrome bumper) with a stock 350...the GTO was a whole other level!
Hi Audie Conrad, Wonderful reading your comment. I agree, the 68-72 GTO's are winners for sure :-) Lou
That is super cool. Looks awesome. Love that colour. Great story too. Bravo!!! timeless beauty.

Wow that is so much like the 1969 Lemans I had back when. Same color and w \black vinyl top. The only differences I see are that mine had no scoops or GTO emblems and my front bumper was chrome. Wow I didn't realize back then just how beautiful that car was.
Hi Dennis, Glad this one brings back memories of yours :-) Lou

The color on this car is stunning! The car is nice!
Hi kenny, Happy to read you enjoy this car & the color too :-) Lou
Great looking black interior.....those GM buckets RULED
Nice :-)
A triad of Wows, two thumbs up, two big-toes up and a Rebel yell! GTOs are like Car Porn.., the lust factor is off the charts. When I was 16 looking for a car, I saw a 69 GTO on a used car lot, Crager Mags, faded green - the car roared like a beast, the engine built for melting pavement. The former owner even had a combination of switches to start it! My dad would not let me get it, citing that "boy this is a gas hog! No!". ANYWAYS - this 68 GTO is gorgeous to the nines! and I like the backstory.
High praise ImTheDaveman :-)
nice, runs very smooth
Glad you enjoy this one :-)
I ordered mine from Beranek Pontiac in Berwyn, Illinois on April 7, 1968. The sticker price was $4,490. Was living in Hinsdale, Illinois at the time and the car had a lot of options. I picked the Aleutian Blue color which looked just like the car featured. I ran it at U.S. 30 Drag Strip one time. Mine had a 4-speed and Safe-T-Track rear end. I'am sorry I sold it in 1975 with 268,000 miles on it. Thanks for the memories.
Hi kenneth tyler, Thank you for viewing, and sharing your memories of your cool car :-) You're welcome, Lou

Hi Marty, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) I like this one too, Lou
@@loucostabile There are not too many I have not liked which you have featured, just some get me interested in one more.
Very clean Goat! If I am not mistaken, that color blue paint was exclusive to 1969 only, but there were just a handful of 68's that received that color due to their late build date.
Hi John Hobson, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge regarding the color, Lou
@@loucostabile You bet Lou. I was born and raised in Pontiac Michigan, and my dad worked at Plant 14 in Pontiac as a tool and die maker. I have owned a 67, 68, and a 69 Goat. My 68 I had for 16 years and regretfully sold it for a down payment on a house in 1995. I currently own a 2006 Goat, built for road racing with the only 2 options that you could get (18 inch wheel, 6 speed).
Needless to say, this one stays with me forever! Thank you for your service in Nam Sir!
