The 69-70 vintage of firebirds are my all time favorites for sure....Pontiacs were definitely a cut about chevys in all ways. I remember my first boss had a nice 69 Firebird, I so wanted to buy that car from him....John was a stand up guy, telling me the car needed a lot of work, and he didn't want me to get stuck with it....Still want that car....
Hi Kramden, "All time favorites" :-) We have a Winner! Lou
My brother Stephen who is 71 years old now had a 1968 Firebird 400 w/ 4 speed manual in Verdoro Green with black vinyl top & black vinyl interior. Had the hood scoops like this one and the hood tach, no A/C and no power steering. I remember him saying it had the GTO engine and transmission. Thanks again Lou for the memories from my youth!
Hi Brian, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Brothers car :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
The interviewer had no clue what he waslooking at! RA Iv with a 4 speed and deluxe interior .... Probably less than 10 produced.
And yet aren't you happy you were able to see the video of this car?
Hey, Lou! Another outstanding Muscle car video. This 69 Firebird is better than new. I hope everyone realizes how rare this Rav IV engine is. The factory engine sounds amazing. Pontiac got that green color down pat. Even better with a black top and interior. PMD was a cut above over the Camaro. A true Muscle Car. Shawn.
Hey Shawn, Happy to read you enjoy this car and appreciate the rarity of this car :-) Lou
Ram Air II from earlier year was even more rare
good heavens the car is truly mint.
Hi Pat Kowalczyk, It's a brand new car :-) Thank you for viewing and commenting. Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
@Pat, the car has been restored, it's not brand new. There's a difference.
This is the best 69 firebird I have ever seen , all correct and no bull shit.
Hi Peter Hogan, High praise :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Thanks Lou for another great video. I saw this car at the MCACN show and it is stunning. I am partial to Pontiacs, but all the cars at this show are amazing = a must for any musclecar fan. Keep up the good work Lou, love it!
Hi mrgrandprix fourspeed, Happy to read you "love it" :-) Thank you for the wonderful comment. It's encouraging and appreciated, Lou
Just like new in wrapper... FABULOUS !
Hi Jay Wilder, Like a brand new car :-) Glad you enjoyed this one, Lou
I’m impressed with this car! She’s a beautiful car! Awesome color, beautiful interior!
Hi Joseph Romano, Glad this is one you enjoy :-) Lou
Incredible car !
I realize they're insanely rare ,and a well done restoration, but I would drive it a little bit at least, not just on and off the trailer, Just my opinion, everybody has different thoughts ,obviously his car , Thanks Lou for showing it !
Hi Scott K, Happy to read "Incredible car !" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Lou you did it again. This one is awesome. The restoration job is fantastic. What a great car!
Hi Andrew, Happy your enjoying the cars on the Channel with me :-) Glad you're along for the ride, Lou
Lou, the detailing throughout appears to be concours. Par excellence. Superb.
Hi Audie, High praise :-) Lou
Perfect Poncho!! Excellent Vid showing this Gorgeous Fire Bird! Thanks Lou
Hi irishpat64, Glad you think this one is "perfect" :-) High praise. You're welcome, Lou
Wow what an awesome Pontiac Lou and the sound of that engine is enough to send chills up the spine thanks for another great post Lou keep up the good work👍👍👍
Hi Darryl6636, Glad this one's sound is a "spine chiller" :-) Thank you for sharing, and the encouraging words, Lou
Beautiful car. If you ever want the authentic "Factory Exact" decals for the vehicle, we manufacture them. I think you'll also find that it was the Job Number from the Broadcast Sheet that would have been written on the Spare Tire and not a VIN. ECS Automotive Concepts, LLC.
Hi 1ramair1, Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this CZcams Channel, Lou
beautiful car LOU ! I have to make it to that show one of these years ... love the cheerleading !!LOL
HI rixafer56, Glad you enjoyed this one and consider the car "beautiful". Cheerleading helps :-) Lou
that is one of my favorite muscle cars you don't see a lot of those around I actually knew somebody that had one and it was sitting in a Jet Plane that car was crazy fast
Glad to read this one is a Winner for you :-)
details!! it's all about the details! brings it all together hehe
Details are good :-)
Great video, great car and great restoration. Happy Thanksgiving 2017
Hi William Scott, Glad you enjoyed the car and the video :-) Happy Thanksgiving, Lou
Wow it looks great & those Ram Air IV cars have a unique sound, too.
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Glad you enjoyed the sound of this one and gave it a "Wow" :-) Lou
Love the idle of the 400 Ram Air IV. They had a really radical camshaft for being a hydraulic unit. They had maybe the best sound out of any engine ever put in a muscle car...at least in my opinion
Thx for preserving our heritage...
You're welcome.
A 4spd Ram Air 1V with style, gorgeous!!
Hi Ed B., Glad you enjoyed the looks of this one :-) Lou
It is great to see such a nice restoration of a really good looking car, even though it hurts hearing they only drive it on and off the trailer. I would drive the heck out of it. But then again, I would havet done a restomod to blend the best of the old with the best of today's technology. Thanks for sharing!
melodicdreamer72 completely agree with u. I drive my 67 GTO every weekend as long as it's not raining or snowing. But mine is not resto mod.
Hi melodicdreamer72, I like driving them too. I can understand when you've put that effort into restoring a car, you might want to hold the memory for a while before hitting the street. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Yeah Chuckles...Things like horsepower don't mean much as a number seen on paper or a sticker - they are about seat of the pants feel. And that's were it is at. ...You do have a nice one in that 67 GTO.
1969 FIREBIRD IN GREEN IS A BEAUTY AND A PRECIOUS COLLECTABLE CAR.
THANKS LOU FOR SHARING THIS BEAUTIFUL QUEEN.
LOU PLEASE HAVE A GREAT DAY ANF HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS TIME.
MERRY CHRISTMAS .
Please have a great day. Thanks LOU.
THANKS AND KIND REGARDS.
HISHAM ELFIKI
Hi Hisham Elfiki, Glad you enjoyed this "BEAUTY" :-) Hope you have a great day too. Thank you for viewing, and you're welcome, Lou
Captured filter in the upper hood would be present in both the Ram Air 3 and 4. There would be no difference. I would also love to see "original" photos of the markings (trunk seal up, paint & body, etc.....) that have been put back into place. Original photos take away any questions as far a as originality and "restoration: is concerned. Nice vehicle.
Hi 1ramair1, When I'm going to a car show, Care Takers are not expecting their car to be videoed, so most times all the documentation is not with the car and back at home. Understandable they are trying to travel as light as possible and bring only what is needed. When I video at a person's home, then we can see more, like this one, Enjoy, Lou czcams.com/video/Q4H2aDMz598/video.html
Really neat, and cool Pontiac Firebird! The engine sounds all good! Fun fact: The first generation Firebird had characteristic Coke bottle styling shared with its cousin, the Chevrolet Camaro. Unlike the Camaro, the Firebird's bumpers were integrated into the design of the front end. The Firebird's rear "slit" taillights were inspired by the 1966-1967 Pontiac GTO. Both a two-door hardtop and a convertible were offered through the 1969 model year. Originally, the car was a "consolation prize" for Pontiac, which had desired to produce a two-seat sports car based on its original Banshee concept car. However, GM feared this would cut into Chevrolet Corvette sales, and gave Pontiac a piece of the "pony car" market through sharing the F-body platform with Chevrolet, John.
Hi John Roberts, Glad you enjoyed the car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge on this one, Lou
Hey Lou. Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you have a fun and safe day. Awesome looking Firebird. I've always loved this generation Firebird. :)
Hey Jason, Glad you enjoyed the "awesome" Firebird, and wishing you a restful Thanksgiving to you, Lou
Thanks. You too. :)
I had a 68 GTO 400 4 speed car that was verdoro green. I look back & think about the cars that I've owned and how stupid I was for getting rid of them. But that was when they were $1500 to $2,500 cars now they're $15,000 to obscene in price. Great job as always Lou, keep up the good work buddy
Hi George H, I think you can give yourself a break calling yourself "stupid" if you USED TO OWN THE CAR :-) Thank you for the kind words on the video, it's encouraging, Lou
That's true & I usually had to sell off one to get another one so that did leave me owning my more than my fare share of muscle cars but i got rid of a couple of rare late 60's early 70's muscle for other cars that I shouldn't & those are the not so bright moments in history, mine anyway... Lol.. Thanks Lou, take care & keep up the good work.. Oh & some I should have bought but didn't.. 1997 I passed on a 1972 Trans/am for $2500 that was in good shape .. Metallic blue / white stripe auto original motor was long gone and the 455 that was in it had slung a rod.. typical early 70's poncho when you lifted the hood, every brand of 10w30 caked in places it wasn't burnt on & wires everywhere. ( someone doing the which one is hot & which one is ground pick & pull wire hunt ) I knew the production numbers for a 72 at the time & still passed on it thinking this basket case will be a headache when I get it home till someone is driving it off
I kind of dislike how the 69' Firebird doesn't get the same love and recognition as the 69' Camaro. I'd toss a coin for either, but imo the bird was slightly sharper looking.
HI Man Her, Happy to read you appreciate this car :-) Thank you for viewing, sharing and I believe you're going to see many more cars on this Channel you'll enjoy. Hope you Subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this CZcams Channel, Lou
Very cool car, sweet color, sort of a shiny cheerful pea green! Love the look of that beak comin at me, n the lit Firebird is Awesome!! Nice work under the hood, looks great! "Isn't he gorgeous, ...my husband's the best!!" Love that... a car chick who loves her car guy... great!
I really enjoyed this vid! Thank you!
Hi WickedFireFly13, I enjoyed the cheer-leading too :-) Glad you enjoyed this one, and you're welcome Lou
'69 was a good year in many ways! 😉😄
Ahhhh the birth year...nice :-)
Hi Lou. Thanks for showing us this emerald gem and it's enthusiastic owners. Like others I wish this was driven more than to and from the trailer, but then out probably wouldn't present so clean. By the way the audio was a little rough in spots. Not sure if out was your mic or the acoustics of the hall.
Hi jnucci1, Glad you enjoyed the "emerald gem" :-) Not sure about the audio, however I might have been to far from the mic. Lou
These cars was built to be driven
I like the way you think :-)
Louis Leon.....Ok, name one car that was NOT meant to be driven.
Beautiful car, I love all of the factory markings. The rear panel color to me looks different than the rest of the car. Is it just the lighting?
Hi Timothy, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Probably the lighting, Lou
Nice :)
Glad you enjoyed this one :-)
My buddie had a 68 in Verdero Green. It had the 350 with 265 hp but what made it unusual was that it had a 3 speed Hurst manual on the floor. I always wondered how many they made like that ?
Sounds like a memorable car your Buddies Firebird with the 3 speed :-)
Love ❤️
:-)
"I love numbers" LOL
:-)
454 and Ram Air V were the biggest engines.
Hi Nonfictionon, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge. Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you enjoy. Please subscribe, and hit the "bell" so you can see all the cars when they are uploaded on this CZcams Channel, Lou
Nothing else sounds like a Ram Air IV.
:-)
All 69 birds with ram air the air filter is in the hood
Hi Doug Schaf, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Hi Lou, my brother ordered a new bird 1st of august 1968, came in on Halloween 1968, ram air 3, 4 speed radio delete, power disc brakes up front, NO power steering, carousel red, black inside ,
did they did black out grills from factory?.
Not sure. Hopefully a Viewer can share their knowledge.
@Ash, the black grilles came on 1969 Firebird Trans Am.
คนไทยชอบคับผม,Thailand.😇
Hi Com Mu, Glad to see you enjoy this car :-) Lou
So you basically bought this and kept it in the basement?
Hi Nonfictionon, Not sure that's exactly right......
Lu. ☺
nus dur :-)
Good🙋👍🌍🌙🎉💣
Wimbledon White is a Ford color!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Have to say, what a shame that the owner will not drive this incredible car. Especially since it's in brand new condition. Cars are meant to be driven not sit in a trailer all the time. I'm sure he has plenty of others he drives but come on man , it's just a shame.
Hi Chuckles9191991, I like driving them too. I can understand when you've put that effort into restoring a car, you might want to hold the memory for a while before hitting the street. Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I agree, I have some ultra are cars yet am willing to put'em on the pavement because they are meant for this.
I love to show them, flaunt and "thin out" the rear tires some...
Wow, that lump is a stock engine? Sounds good. Pretty car, except cars are meant to be driven, not to become trailer queens.
Happy to read you enjoy the sounds of this car :-)
🌎👍🇹🇭😁
Hi nus dur, Glad to see you enjoy this car :-) Hope you see many more cars on this CZcams Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
