    Fun facts about this match:
A key factor to Brazil's humiliation was Captain Thiago Silva's suspension for collecting too many yellow cards and Star Player Neymar's injury in the previous match, giving Brazil a significant handicap.
Brazilian player Fred, who had already underperformed throughout the World Cup, became one of the most heavily criticized players after this match. When he was subbed off the fans would boo whenever the camera filmed him.
The darkest moment for Brazil at this match was from the 23rd to 29th minute, where the Germans pummelled Brazil with 4 goals in 6 minutes (Klose with one, Kroos with two in quick succession, and Khedira with another one).
After the first half, with Germany leading 5-0, the German players decided they didn't want to humiliate Brazil (so much for that plan), playing much less aggressively and tuning down goal celebrations in the second half. Still didn't stop them from scoring two more goals though.
    *And my favourite fact:*
The football rivalry between Brazil and Argentina is so intense that, despite being utterly annihilated by them in this match, Brazilian fans still went to cheer for Germany against Argentina in the final.

@Cyber Ghost 2.0 yeah, I remember when our keeper Neuer got mad at the defense for slacking off, causing Brazil to score the 1 goal. He was probably the one most ambitious to bring this home as a flawless victory, while the rest of the german team, as well as many of the german fans, started to feel pity.
But just as much as Germany was feeling pity, as far as I can remember, Brazils team crumbled apart under the sheer desperation and frustration. Had Germany maintained their motivation, I don’t really want to picture the crushing score that might have been achieved. Though maybe this might have actually motivated Brazil in turn, as the purpose for giving their best would not have been to fight their way out of an unavoidable loss anymore but rather to reduce the score gap as much as possible. Which is definitely achievable and worth fighting for.
But who knows really. It was a match to go down in the history books regardless. It just stopped being fun to watch after like half an hour.

This was the first World Cup I’ve ever seen in my life. I watched it with my mum and her then-boyfriend from the Netherlands, which we decided to support since England failed to qualify. I’ll never forget her complete and utter disbelief seeing Brazil, the other team she was supporting, getting absolutely bodied by Germany to point of leaving the room. I, a kid at that time, could only continue to watch the match in confusion and interest. Probably the most surreal and unforgettable watch of my childhood, and also a lot of nostalgia for me.
Also this World Cup is turning 10 years old holy crap.

The team was not mentally prepared for the tournament and it really surprised me that Scolari never included senior players like Kaka and Robinho in the squad. Honestly, even if there is Neymar and Thiago Silva, they would have still lost but not by a huge margin. The Germans were a well-oiled unit and they are totally patient and technical in their playing.
